Hi everyone, Adam here! You may have noticed we already published this video yesterday but, sadly, a certain broadcaster tried to claim over 80% of it over a small clip we'd used and, obviously, we weren't going to allow that. So, while we fight our corner on this one we've taken down the original and reuploaded this version that just uses stills. It's not ideal for a few things we wanted to highlight, but hopefully you can still understand it. Thanks for bearing with us and hopefully we'll have the original back up soon enough 🙏

People who say “arteta just copies pep” have literally no clue what they’re on about…his ‘in game’ management and ability to adjust to situations is not just someone copying another manager…
Arteta is a genius who started his coaching career while at Arsenal under Wenger. He was supposed to be Wenger replacement but the board thought that the fans were not ready for a manager with no experience. He was Peps assistant for a reason. He personally picked some of City's coaching staff while at city.
Young/new Arsenal fans are so not used to what they’re seeing under Arteta’s team, they can’t help but question its strength and resolve before every potential challenge. And this Arsenal team keeps answering every hardship being thrown at them with triumph and success. I don’t blame those fans, they lived through horrible periods, but it’s time to realise this is a new era. It’s other clubs who fear Arsenal now, as much as Arsenal used to fear them only a few years ago.
He also wasn’t gonna work because he’d be past his 30s by the time Arsenal started challenging City for the title. He lost relevance with Arsenal a long time ago. Don’t somehow make this into a criticism of a random player who was no longer important by 2018.
as an arsenal fan, i say i disagreed with areteta freezing out auba, but i trust his methods now, you seriously just have to want it more, doesn't matter if you have insane, world class skills. Trossard doesn't score as many goals as auba used to, but he's a grafter for the team and that's more important. Same with Havertz

Arsenal fan here. Great content Adam as always. In answer to your question. For me Arteta is showing the world he's a step ahead. Brilliant in my opinion and can only get better...
I love the analysis, both for this game and in previous videos. Adam asked what Arsenal fans think. I am an Arsenal fan and I loved the work ethic. The closing message about who wanted it more is very apt. I am concerned though, because all sides, when they put in a performance like this, they tend to look jaded their next time out. These boys worked their socks off. I don't know if Atalanta in midweek is a good or a bad thing, but I expect every player in this game to look exhausted in Italy. Look at the way Liverpool put it on ManU last week, then they came out this weekend flat. That is what a top effort does to a side all too often. Arsenal do not have the quality in depth to start a significantly different side against City, and an away trip to Atalanta seems more likely to make the problem worse than better. So I am very concerned about Arsenal next weekend. If Arsenal can do what they did against Spurs, defend even better, and have Rice and Odegaard back, maybe they can get a result at City. But that is a lot of maybe's and I predict Arsenal get beat next weekend. If they can put together two top performances, even with the away trip to Italy in between, I will be happy to be wrong, but I don't think its gonna happen.
I am biased obviously but I think this is why Arsenal is so great now and over the past few seasons. Before, Arsenal needed possession and an attacking attitude or else they would lose. Teams are not used to Arsenal sitting back, defending, and hitting on the break. But, when they have the best defense in the League, you can do that. If you can trust your back four and the keeper then it makes it so you can focus on the middle and attacking thirds.
love Timber - Im glad Neville lauded his defending - the back post man marking he did on Solanke...effectively ushering him away from the ball whilst strangling his movement - thats what weve been missing with Zinchenko et al - full backs who understand the art of full back defending - then you look at his overlap and support play..incredible....he actually reminds me of denis irwin....who was probably the wiliest full back in EPL history
Love what you do Adam, the big question for Arsenal is whether they can keep enough players fit enough to compete through what is an increasingly cluttered season; its an issue for all clubs but especially for those of us lucky enough to be in the Champions League. Just look at our squad issues today and the season has only just started!
Guys I have a question on Spurs team. To make better use of Son Heung-min, should they play a 4-4-2 formation? (as CF or SS) From what I've seen, Son Heung-min seems more like a technician who targets goals by penetrating the defense line rather than being a winger crossing. I really don't understand the current Spurs' positioning. Spurs are performing so poorly, and the one resource they should be using well is Son. It’s really frustrating. I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who knows well? Is the 4-4-2 formation truly an outdated strategy. Setting aside the fact that it may not align with Ange's style,
I wouldn’t say the formation is outdated, but more managers are implementing as an “out of possession” type of formation, which is what you see with Arsenal. You’ll notice that a lot of top teams use 4-3-3 on paper, mainly because it’s more flexible and it can be easily changed into a different formation (4-4-2) depending on the situation. I honestly think a 4-4-2 could work better for son, he isn’t really your run of the mill left-winger. It’s important that he’s paired up with a box presence like solanke though so he can be given sort of a more free role to roam around if that makes sense. Son has worked as a left winger when playing with kane, but that system was also different. Just my opinion anyway👍.
Great video Adam. I was waiting for you to suggest what Tottenham could have done to counteract Arteta’s tactics. Probably a case of Arsenal being too good one on one?
It's been obvious for a few years now that to challenge $ity you need at least 17 "1st team" players. Until this season I don't think Arsenal had that depth of squad. Now we do.
A team that is meant to be title contenders sit more or less on the edge of their box, and try and win on the counter, which team has had time to build their squad and which team is at the start of their 2nd season?
Arsenal are very good in set pieces. Half of Arsenal goals come from corners and free kicks. Teams should study their set pieces and try to solve the riddle.
Defending is not brave. Tottenham would rather lose then play the way arsenal did. But that is that same reason we will never win anything. Well put together video. You do a great job Adam.
I personally love how arsenal now have multiple game styles. This wasn’t a low block like some ppl have commented, they’re playing to their strengths and they smothered Tottenham all over the field. Defending is as much an art as attack and knowing when to switch mid game js what made the difference
Defending is literally half the game. It's not brave, it's fundamental. Tottenham won't win anything because they're only mediocre at half the game and bad at the other half.
Tottenham didn't have that many clear chances considering we have two star players out. Tbh Arsenal's squad depth is lacking in comparison to even Aston Villa or Newcastle, but they play better as a team than anyone else in the league.
No "genius way". They exploited the goalkeeper's weakness like other teams have and stole the points. Imagine that goal against Pat Jennings. The ball would have been punched 50 yards out and Gabriel would be unconscious. It will keep happening to Spurs unless they get a proper keeper.
Don’t know if I’d consider playing 4 CBs and 2 DMs and sitting in a low block genius. Doesn’t matter though, won the game. It really is dross to watch though.
Just think, if they had Rice and Odegaard, it would have been much nicer to watch, and even worse on the scoreline for Spurs. Maybe you should be thankful you only lost 1-0.
If people think modern football is boring, he plays the worst. He wont ruin the sport, he will kill it with his haram ball. Hope they never get to touch the title. UCL is never happening anyway 😂
Arsenal defended very well. Hardly a surprise. They deserved a 0-0 draw but lucked out with Romero's poor marking of Gabriel. Why is there so little commentary on this? I have more of a basketball background than a football background. A defensive basketballer who is free to push an opponent would have easily stopped Gabriel. Romero should have started his defensive position further to the right. It seems easy to me, what football knowledge am I missing?
Hey dam Clearly you lost me but it is ok. I would love for your to go through your jungle book phase. I would love if you can enjoy all gods creation. I would love for you immerse yourself with tigers and lions ans speal your 4-4-2 propaganda to them.😊
