the philosophical aspect is the main point of the series, the creator always intended to put a meaning behind the series. he has said that everything in the games is symbolic of something and that not everything has been figured out yet.

It's amazing how much emotion a rhythm game can instill. When I got to the end of this, I sat there, my heart beating with the Wii Remote, hitting those last few notes. The presentation of this game is just really brilliantly well done. You can see how much Gaijin grew as a company as well as how much Commander Video grew. I'd like to see them make more rhythm games in the future. The Bit.Trip may be complete, but more clever rhythm games like this would be nice.
Bit Trip beat: the start of his adventure Bit trip core: learning his powers. Bit Trip Void: Unstable becomes stable Bit Trip runner: New world's, New experience Bit trip fate: Uncontrollable emotions Bit trip flux: The end of the adventure.
Thank you for this playthrough of these Bit games. The larger narrative gives them a whole other feel beyond a intense twitch game. I literally would never have experienced this gorgeous and enriching game series if not for vids like this. Kickass.
Bit trip games are genius. And as this shows, you need to be a genius to play them well. Good thing too, as we get to hear how it should sound. Thank you.
I think this is my favorite level of Flux. Mainly because it has that reference of Bit Trip Runner music. Wait wait wait! Your uh "poem"/speech on the video made sense. Commandervideo died? Yet you said there is no death? How does someone die if there is no death?
Death is the parting of the soul from the body. His soul has parted and now is ready to be reincarnated or given paradise. It is still open to determination but i think the series as a whole really shows the powers of your own self and what you can accomplish, even after your feet are lifted off the ground for the last time.. There are infinite beginnings and infinite ends, so what's keeping you from causing a few hundred of them?
CommanderVideo begins and starts his discovery after he reaches MEGA. When he reaches SUPER, his real quest begins. He is ULTRA... when he learns for himself. He had also gained something EXTRA... Freedom. But his emotions made him go GIGA, it lead to his Fall. He takes this all as a lesson, making him reach META. All is in FLUX!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I never thought some stupid rhythm game pong hybrid would make me cry, but I was proven wrong in the best way possible.
After watching this series, it really blew my mind when your commentary helped me realize the final boss is, in fact, yourself. No, I don't mean CV and his alter ego. His alter ego simply becomes a wall. A mirror. You, the player, are simply playing yourself against an inanimate wall.
I think you misread someone's interpretation. there is one interpretation that the bit.trip series is cyclical, meaning it both ends AND begins with flux, and beat comes after it. this is because commandervideo isn't supposed to represent any particular person. he represents human life in general - which is cyclical. (for every death, there is a birth.)
Anyone else see the Arecibo message from Transition appear at roughly 7:10, only in black? A clever throwback, as it is only seen when the satellite-things are flying past.
Life has a value. No matter what we consider it to be, existence is the most important of any man's possessions. The mightiest task to perform during our lives is to not squander ourselves. What happens after we cease to live remains a carefully-guarded secret. What, if anything, greets us when it's over? What retribution may afterlife enact upon a squandered man? Is such a consciousness simply tortured until it loses hold of its self-awareness? What's left if our will to exist is broken?
Apologies, I am only just now finding the extras/letters section after having played the compilation all week. I was wondering how everyone seemed matter of factly familiar with this backstory.
yes. flux symbolises letting go of the past. all the bit.trip games are symbolic of something. And this game is essentially commander video re-experiencing his memories, and letting his past mistakes go in turn.
Those numbers that came on the screen at the start of the ending level? (With the zodiac signs) I translated them through binary translators, and it came up as a single letter, which was I. Is the translator wrong, or is this an extra cryptic part? The numbers are: 010010010000100000100
the video at the end iTS sad i beat it i kan almost do it with no faults i am very good at the game bpi am at core now butt i beat this game butt core i am very close to complete lvl1 dam that one is hard!
Do some research before you say things. META probably stands for metacognition, which you should know if you're on RUclips. CV understands his decisions and why he chose them, and he now learns that some things in life aren't always for the greater good.
I know its just me, but the 3DS version of this type really blows. I know its probably just me, but I feel restricted on the touch pad and the control pad is way to slow and inaccurate. Bit Trip games ran much better on PC because the sensitivity was more stable and your reaction time is way higher. Now Bit Trip Runner ran really nicely on the 3DS as it is just a fast-past platformer.
when I first heard about this series, I had no idea it was that deep....
the philosophical aspect is the main point of the series, the creator always intended to put a meaning behind the series. he has said that everything in the games is symbolic of something and that not everything has been figured out yet.
That implies that things such as "Hairy Knorkwhip" and "Leaky Krinkston" have some sort of deeper meaning.
Update: I found the meaning
Lol
@@MrQuinnzard it does: Comic relief: with the darker entries of the series (fate and flux) you have to have some levity.
The zeros and ones at the beginning of the last segment mean "ID"
You can read binary code? Impressive
No, I just wrote it down and then put it into a binary translator.
Thanks for responding to my 6 year old comment.
This was simply one of the coolest experience I have ever had. Your commentary, especially for FLUX, was marvelous. Good work on this.
Cholin26T u stoopid for the entire lp he sounds like a narrator

I’m already thinking about BIT.TRIP RETURN
every time he modes up to meta, the trumpets make me cry. also the last moment you play it makes me cry. *walks away sobbing*
@Kinetto it is a violin
I freaking love Gaijin Games for this.
Bit Trip beat: the start of his adventure
Bit trip core: learning his powers.
Bit Trip Void: Unstable becomes stable
Bit Trip runner: New world's, New experience
Bit trip fate: Uncontrollable emotions
Bit trip flux: The end of the adventure.

summary of bit.trip: commander video leaves home. He gets a girlfriend. He then dies. Then he goes back home again. :P
According to Gaijin Games/Choice Provisions, CV and CGV are just really good friends.
Yeah, sure. "Really good friends"
It is so fitting that the music from Runner is remixed in this one.
I think this is my favorite level of Flux. Mainly because it has that reference of Bit Trip Runner music.

I like how the beats sound like in Extra at 17:30
How bit trip editor?
@@wakao5714 IM TRYINNG
Ok, I wish you a good journey
doesn't anyone realize that the planet in the start is the one from descent? and the planet at the end is his original home?
Grey Descent
I like to call it Axis for some reason
And the original Descent Atlas
You sir are amazing.
Why?
a) you can play every single BIT.TRIP level without dying
b)you understand the story perfectly.
WOW
Imagine being high out of your mind playing this game.
What a trip it was!
Flux is a part of our life it has alot to do after our anger
I find it strangely appropriate that the level gained in anger, in the pursuit of a petty desire, is in the end, the one that's hollow.
I knew I wasn't the only one!

Seeing as Commander Video is represented as a rectangle, that could just be something representing him.
Giga makes me cry... 😭
Anyone else see the Arecibo message from Transition appear at roughly 7:10, only in black? A clever throwback, as it is only seen when the satellite-things are flying past.
@MegaMannyKing plus the levels. transition, descent, growth, discovry, exploration, control, i.d, Ego Super Ego, impetus, tenicity, triumph, determination, patiance, desperation, frustration, fall, epiphany, perception, and, finally, CATHERSIS!!
triumph triumph triumph triumph
Life is really simply. Our BIT. TRIP is finally COMPLETE.
At the beginning of the scene after you beat the final boss it has a few 0s and 1s in the background........is that binary of some sort?
Means ID in binary code
Yay!
CV was HYPER start his journey
bro why the FUCK am i crying
So commander video returns to the world where he once lived in, or he just stays in The Home forever?!

See ya, Commander Video.
It takes place between Runner and Fate so it doesn't really matter.
hey AmbisagrusSA, whats your secret to being so good
they're making BIT.TRIP.RUNNER 2, I heard.
What were those objects anyway? Do they symbolize Beat, Core, Void, Runner, and Fate? Or is it something else?
yes. flux symbolises letting go of the past. all the bit.trip games are symbolic of something. And this game is essentially commander video re-experiencing his memories, and letting his past mistakes go in turn.
06:53 Runner!
Are you excited for Runner 2, Amibisagrus?
Hey, why are my eyes leaking?
@monkyman26O Ohai Monkyman, you're on Suyo's forums aren't you? I'm MKSTAR26 there. And his audio seems perfect to me.
@Revenent530 With FLUX, it's not really hard - the only changes between modes are the instruments for the Beats.

On the first stage, the starting 39 beats are off sync for some players, like SwanOS. The beats came faster.
The boss on this level took like a couple hours for me to beat, I suck at pong omg xD I'm surprised that I even beat growth on BIT.TRIP Beat
why did you set ad the end complete and not completion?

Nolan Yee actually it originally made sense...
I can only make it to Giga! Making it to meta is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard to get to!

giga is in fate too (my age 7)
