I followed this tutorial by watching it over and over...When I was done, I probably created and delivered one of the best lessons I've ever done in my career!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! 🙌🏾🤗
Just finished my game board for an elementary library fiction vs. nonfiction unit and holy wow -- that took a loooong time! But I'm gonna pat myself on the back and say it came out awesome :) I really appreciate your thorough tutorials. You rock, Jen!
Sandra Fitzpatrick that’s awesome! They are time consuming. They get quicker as you go but I definitely wouldn’t do it everyday. Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Thank you for your wonderful video! I followed your instructions carefully, but although I click on 'Skip slides', in preview minimal mode then the slides move if I click on the arrows just the same . How's that?
It's the little things I'm learning! Changing the color of the pushpin! Making a table into a gameboard by removing the background! preview?rm=minimal NO Navigation Bar!!! and skip side! THANK YOU!!!! :)
Another wonderful video from you!! I love your pacing, as it not only makes it easy to follow along...but the information sticks! Great explanations, little extra tidbits of tech detail, and of course I love the creativity! Thanks so much!
I love these videos! I learn more with each one. I hope you will continue to make them through the summer. Love seeing the notifications when you post new ones. THANK YOU!!!
Thanks for your videos! I've learned alot watching! I was glad to learn about the skip slide feature! This is a time saver! I usually insert a transparent shape over the slide, and link it to the same slide, but I like the skip slide feature much better!
I have been binge watching your tutorials. Great info!!! When linking a RUclips video, is it possible to have it automatically close RUclips at the end of the video and return students back to assignment/slides? Thanks
Kristy Kirkpatrick not that I know of but you could insert the video into the slide itself rather than inserting the video as a link. Thanks so much for your support!
Your videos are AMAZING! By far the best I have seen online. You have taught me how to do so many cool things and be able to share it with my school. Thank you sooooo much :)
Karen Hansberry I don’t but I’ve thought about putting them up! Email me and I’ll send you my slides. Gin@ezed.tech. It take me about 20 minutes to make that. And thanks so much!
Gin thank you I have been watching your videos to get inspiration for the next year. I cannot remember if it was you who gave shortcuts to use in Google Drive....to see a quick preview of a doc rather than opening the whole file the other quick tip was how to highlight several files in Drive and move them to a folder. Could you point me in the right direction to those answers?
Sorry! Wasn't me! For the preview, when you are in drive, right click and select preview. To highlight several things at once, you can drag your cursor over a bunch to group them and drag into a folder. An alternative is to hit shift and click on the first one, keep holding shift, and then click on the last one to group folders that are in a row. For folders not next to each other, use control rather than shift and click on each one while continuing to hold ctrl. When you have everything highlighted, drag it into the folder. I hope this helps!
Thank you for this video. Did you notice that the browser still brought you back to the Google drive link, at least, showed the user the Google URL, after pressing "return" key for the shorten link?
@@EZEdTech Thank you! That was what I noticed! Could you check the URL at 36:04 when you said "they CAN get back to your regular slide" and the one at 38:00 when you actually opened the slide using the bitly shorten one? : )
Thank you SO much for this tutorial! I'm new to GC AND Canvas this year -- and really LOVE all the help out here! Quick question - once a student clicks on the link (movie, form, assignment) how do they get back to the presentation?
This such a great idea thank you! I was just wondering if there is a spinner that can be inserted into this? I have created tons of board games that have spinners kids used with a pencil and paperclip. I would love to convert them.
Great video!! Was inspired to create my own game board also..One question: when It's in present mode how can I have board piece move around the board like in an actual game, so the students can see exactly where they are when they're playing?
I really appreciate this as my students (elem) are struggling going back and forth with resources. I just wanted to be clear about something. I would need to make a teacher section for my doc (recording sheets) in each classroom so I can have 1 per student, AND then update my gameboard with that link for each individual class? So if I have 6 sections of 5th grade, each classroom would need a posting in a teacher section and the gameboard would need to be updated to that link? Thank you.
Hello. Thank you for making these videos! They are so easy to follow. I am having trouble when I add the shortened URL. The preview picture is not my page but the google sign-in page. Is there any way to stop that from happening or to change it in Google Classroom?
Thank you for the video! It's a brilliant idea to make a board game style lesson! I wonder, if we don't use google classroom is there another way of assigning the doc to a number of students?
Jessica Haynes I wouldn’t use this on a daily basis personally but you could. You could just make a copy and change out the links and send out the new slide.
Ok so you use diff slides on a daily basis or do you use diff agendas. I am just trying to see what or how I would use all this great ideas that I have discovered from the fb page
Do you know how to not allow any clicks or move from the slide besides the spot where you want? Like if someone accidentally clicks anywhere on the slide and it moves it from the spot.
Sahr Ahmed thanks! For preschool, you would do the same thing to make the board game and put in whatever activities are appropriate for your students. As a HS teacher, I’m not sure what activities are appropriate for preschool.
Hi i am Teacher too....thought the Bitmojis was so helpfull....not having to create figures from the start.....but as I read the Bitmoji are not for commersial use, but still a lot of u uses Them?
Great lesson. I’m going to try this. I wonder if I can somehow make this Zoom friendly too? I just made a video about making an interactive Zoom with colorful cards.
EZ EdTech! I just did this video a couple of days ago and then I sent it out to my teachers and librarians. They are trying it because it’s so easy. I use card stock or foam but you can use construction paper too. Can you take a look and see if you think it would work with a lot of kids? Like 20? Thank you! Mardalee Burwitz my pleasure! I’m so glad you are learning new things! 😊
I agree. There are so many little but very useful tips in every video.
This is amazing I love it! :)
Even if I don't end making a game board, I learned a lot about what can be done with Slides from this video. :)
Awesome! So glad to hear that!
You are such a talented teacher 👌

@@EZEdTech I have learned a lot from you. Can't wait to see your next tutorial 🥰
CIKGU LING thanks so much for your support! 😊
That was very well done. I liked the simplicity of the game board as an introductory graphic.
It showed the whole concept in simple terms
Douglas Peterson thank you so much!

The skip slide feature worked for the first slide but not any after that. Do you know why? Love your videos!

Catherine Crenshaw thank you so much!
Thank you for this video. Did you notice that the browser still brought you back to the Google drive link, at least, showed the user the Google URL, after pressing "return" key for the shorten link?
No, I didn’t notice that! You can create a bitly to avoid that.

Thank you for sharing! Here's a questioon can two two teachers share a google classroom? if so, can you help us set it up?
You sure can! Under the people section, just add the other teacher under “teachers”.
Great video!! Was inspired to create my own game board also..One question: when It's in present mode how can I have board piece move around the board like in an actual game, so the students can see exactly where they are when they're playing?
if you want the students to be able to to move the piece, they can't do that in present mode.

Joellen Schuleman yes. I have multiple sections too. So if I link to assignment on GC, I need to change that link for each game board.

You could force them to make a copy of it and then they could share it back with you. It is a little messier but it works!
@@EZEdTech Thank you for the answer!! I will surely try it 😊
Hi I truly thank you for your help. I was wondering how do you use it from day to day. I mean do you have a master form and then change each day

Ok so you use diff slides on a daily basis or do you use diff agendas. I am just trying to see what or how I would use all this great ideas that I have discovered from the fb page

Hi, how do I make it so that after each google form it goes back to the board itself?
Do you know how to not allow any clicks or move from the slide besides the spot where you want? Like if someone accidentally clicks anywhere on the slide and it moves it from the spot.
Paula Gentry no, unfortunately, I don’t!
Is there a way to you can link this into schoology?
By right-click in the area of the google slide, you can show guidelines for alining the bitmoji. By setting guide
Duane Grapp thanks!
Wow! That was amazing! Thank you.

Maria Toft using them in the classroom is not commercial use since we aren’t profiting from their use. That’s my understanding.
I love this video, especially the waving bitmoji avatar. How you make it?
I cut and paste the arm of my bitmoji and used lots of slides. The process is similar to the one I use in how to animate your google slides.
Awesome learning.u r a genius

Also do you have a flipped classroom tutorial?
Jessica Haynes I don’t. I haven’t had great success with the flipped classroom personally.
