Now THAT is Fantastic! I have been looking around at different vans, Earth Rovers, RVS, etc. I had a favorite or two in each category. I liked the Earth Rover but it is pretty conspicuous and I am not a fan of anything ostentatious. But it was close. I love this, though! It should go where I want, you could sleep another or 2 kids below . While I have never been big on camouflage paint jobs because they are anything but, I would immediately paint it a neutral flat color. Add a few personal things and this is awesome. Thank you very much for introducing it!
We used to have a holiday home in Cape Town. Our neighbour had a converted defender. It was superb and he used to go off real wild camping to Namibia etc. He would use the top bunk for sleeping due to the wild game. I was so envious 😁
Lots to like, but I would have liked to see you getting up into the bed. If there are 2 of you in the van, doors shut in bad/cold weather, how/where do you get up and down? Is the "extra bed flap" necessary or optional, it seems to trap you up there? It looks like you both have to get up/down together? Can you have just the side awning out, or do you always do the 2 sides? It feels like a 1 man van, and where would Bentley fit in?
Love this video, to bad they don't do this in California where I am hoping to get a similar one done, very nice job, would love video showing it in location and use by the owner.
Jimny Overlanding - check out 4xoverland he did the first version of the Alu-cab roof conversion on his troppie. Better than the Defender in my opinion.
OK, wasn't expecting your comments here, confused the hell out of me! Been watching mix of your videos and Landy videos .. consider me slightly bemused. 😊
Hair driers Hair Driers. For crying out loud who’s thinking about drying ones hair on a camper trip. Nice rig a bit expensive I would think. Thanks for some 😁
It would have been useful to show a bit more about how you get into and out of the bed area. Also, some facts about the conversion costs and additional weight factors. Would it need suspension upgrade?
"It locks in place so no one can open it" - dude, it's a flimsy little catch, you could get it off in seconds, it needs to be on the inside. Great apart from that.
How easy/difficult is it to insure? And what's on the documents......motor caravan or defender 110 ?. I've just finished converting my T5.1 and changed the documents to a motor caravan and the dvla want to know the in's and out's of a duck's ass and so did the insurance company 🤷♂️
Clever design on the limited space of a Defender. Need to be a Land Rover fan or already own one. A 4x4 Merc Sprinter is a far roomier and better proposition.
6/10. Sleeping and driving for 2 people but only 1 lounge seat? Won't be long before someone skins their ankle and thigh on those cabinet catches. The cooker should always be removable for cooking outside option - need was mentioned.
PMSL. A Land Rover made for touring. So you pull a trailer with spares and tools behind you. What a completely stupid idea. A touring defender. 😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Kid in a sweet shop.... Can't wait to see what you do with your Defender.
I love the fold down number plate that converts into a mini picnic table (2 coffee mugs wide) 😂😂😂👍👍
Loved it. In my alternative life I'm off to the Serengeti in it...
Bob Earnshaw Ah the UK’s answer to Andrew St Pierre White ;-)
With Jenny and Poppy too I hope? Looks a bit of a squeeze.

Bet it still leaks in the rain! Best door shuts I have seen on a defender thou.
Love the awning, not seen a wrap around before
Nice. I like that there is actually stuff in the cabinets, because showroom models don't really give an idea of how much storage there is.
Looks like they’ve done about as much as one can with the platform. Excellent. Love tambour doors. Never worry about them opening when your travelling
Wow something completely different, great use of space.
Brilliant tour of the 110! Would be a dream to have my 110 setup like that!
The battle axe is a nice touch; in some areas the chain and ball (spiked) would be handy.
Mourning Star.
Oh - I'm soooo glad that theres space for Nutella!!
Lovely video, great to see you back man!
Thanks Paul :-)

Damn i love these. Especially with the alucab.
U need to get a wideangle lense for the interior... Impossible to see properly like this

That’s different for sure - love awning
Fighting Zombies!! Love the Humour...Fantastic Set UP...Defenders #1....ENJOY!!
Nice Video, thank you for showing
Looking forward to seeing some adventures in your landy 🏔
the best 4x4 on the world
What a lovely camper! 😁👍👌
Need to get one of these fantastic
Wauw no commercials!!! +1 👍 Respect 🙏
The whole video was a commercial, interesting but still a commercial
Alu-Cab are awesome
loving that roof bed tent awesomeness 😍✌
20k subs, good work.

Has a lot of great features. But if this isn't an ad, what would you change or didn't like.
Need to purchase this rig!!
Thanks for sharing good info.
Thank You for this clip... Defender rulez
They should do this with one of the army armoured snatch defenders it would look awesome
Suuuper cool!!
Thanks. Great review. Are the inside cabinets made of aluminum sheet or aluminum sandwich panels please?
What was the cost of this conversion
This is one of the better conversions I've seen. Do they do troopies as well? Pity the new defender isn't a suitable platform for this sort of thing.
Jimny Overlanding - check out 4xoverland he did the first version of the Alu-cab roof conversion on his troppie. Better than the Defender in my opinion.
Jimny Overlanding - ruclips.net/video/fW4eAd4S18I/видео.html that’s the best version of this conversion imo
Love it
All well and good but how much is it and where does one bathe and poo......?
Bucket of water for a wash, and a hole in the ground for a poop. Simples no worries real wild camping.
Like to see this tried on new thing Land Rover has dumped on us.
That's not a Land Rover, it's an SUV in drag.
Superb guys, what a great jeep. Have fancied one for a good while now.
Fumbs up.
Beautiful
I'll trade them in my Custom!!!
You’d definitely put this to good use!!
OK, wasn't expecting your comments here, confused the hell out of me! Been watching mix of your videos and Landy videos .. consider me slightly bemused. 😊
@@ABusAndBeyond What did this conversion cost?
Hair driers Hair Driers. For crying out loud who’s thinking about drying ones hair on a camper trip. Nice rig a bit expensive I would think. Thanks for some 😁
Thank you, one question..loo?
Wow! 😊
How much would something like this cost??
The perfect vehicle for safari or the zombie apocalypse
Definitely would love some of this in my Fender!
yeah.... looks nice....
greetings andy
It would have been useful to show a bit more about how you get into and out of the bed area. Also, some facts about the conversion costs and additional weight factors. Would it need suspension upgrade?
This is unreal. Nice walktkhrough. Is that the owners house in the background? lol. Can't be a cheap rig
Gas cylinder under the sink? Is that legal?
Great review but it's not my kinda thing . Each to their own. ....back to the cali guys 😃
The canopy is pretty useless with the gap between it and the vehicle - thats gonna let rain in surely?
How does a small gap right next to the vehicle make the whole canopy useless? Unless you were leant against the vehicle you would be perfectly dry.
does it have storage
How much to convert a land rover to that standard???...
A heater for all weathers..wow lol
Dream car
"It locks in place so no one can open it" - dude, it's a flimsy little catch, you could get it off in seconds, it needs to be on the inside. Great apart from that.
How can it be "The Ultimate "? It's built on a LandRover. Have you got your break down triangle?
@David David Toyota maybe
Sgt G. Had a 2003 and have a 2015 Defender and neither has let me down in 8 yrs driving. Maybe I'm lucky. 😉
@Sgt G that is the stock comment from everyone who has never owned a landrover.
cool!!!
Can convert new defender 2020?
Joli !
That is so nice
Oh yeah,,,must not forget my hairdryer
what is the stove and sink called.......
a waste of space
What happened to your steering wheel? It's on the wrong side... 😱🤔😅
Is there no toilet in it?
Maybe they had a portaloo but I honestly can’t remember.
but how did u get up there
Not only is it a land rover where you can drive anyway, but now it is a camper so you can sleep anywhere too 😂
Would be lovely if we can open the pop up roof tent from the inside. Park the car, open the tent and sleep, without going outside.
True. And I've often wondered about security with a pop top that opens from the outside? Seems like an easy access point for thieves.
How easy/difficult is it to insure?
And what's on the documents......motor caravan or defender 110 ?.
I've just finished converting my T5.1 and changed the documents to a motor caravan and the dvla want to know the in's and out's of a duck's ass and so did the insurance company 🤷♂️
Cuanto me costaria trr uno de esos bellos carros de inglaterra há bolivia?
Don’t fancy being up top when windy!
that inside cooking solution is weird, who wants to cook while on their knees?
A hairdryer while wild camping 😂
I also chuckled at the hairdryer bit, but thought it would come in useful when you have to dry out spills or quick dry an item
Missed one thing.... how much???£££
14 plate defender 110 utility, plus alu-cab, all the other bits to convert and labour my guess would be £40-50,000
It’s 10k just to put the pop top on a 110
Subtitulos en español please
Clever design on the limited space of a Defender. Need to be a Land Rover fan or already own one. A 4x4 Merc Sprinter is a far roomier and better proposition.
that’s right Ian Smith, but a 4x4 Sprinter is only a bad road vehicle and a Defender is an off-road vehicle and that makes the difference imho
Nice video but I'm really annoyed you enunciated 'need to'. 'You can point the heater wherever you needta' would have been much better.
6/10. Sleeping and driving for 2 people but only 1 lounge seat? Won't be long before someone skins their ankle and thigh on those cabinet catches. The cooker should always be removable for cooking outside option - need was mentioned.
Expensive hobby. That defender would've cost them at least 35k before doing anything to it. But if you can afford it then sure why not its great
Sorry guys.
It looks like Fred Dibnah has designed it. But I don't want to insult Fred.
No, this aint nothing for the zombie apocalypse in the artic.
There's more negatives than positives for that conversion.
Is that Seth Rogan 😂
.. just about room for one person .. certainly not two !
The only thing that's missing from a converted van is 🚽
جمال الايوبي اشوفك تقلد 🤣🤣🤣
It’s got no toilet
All you need is love.... And about £60k 🙄
Samiad, not so buddy.... Check out Auto Trader.....
Small expensive ok for snobs I've had one from new most uncomfortable vehicle I've driven.
Nice video, But not for me
It looks like a rubbish tip Inside.
PMSL. A Land Rover made for touring. So you pull a trailer with spares and tools behind you. What a completely stupid idea. A touring defender. 😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Even 3 years later you comment is moronic.
Way too much storage theres no space left inside. what a waste
Obviously, they never used this in REAL World! @@@@caution@@@@ check out other videos! This is not real world !
