Now THAT is Fantastic! I have been looking around at different vans, Earth Rovers, RVS, etc. I had a favorite or two in each category. I liked the Earth Rover but it is pretty conspicuous and I am not a fan of anything ostentatious. But it was close. I love this, though! It should go where I want, you could sleep another or 2 kids below . While I have never been big on camouflage paint jobs because they are anything but, I would immediately paint it a neutral flat color. Add a few personal things and this is awesome. Thank you very much for introducing it!
Lots to like, but I would have liked to see you getting up into the bed. If there are 2 of you in the van, doors shut in bad/cold weather, how/where do you get up and down? Is the "extra bed flap" necessary or optional, it seems to trap you up there? It looks like you both have to get up/down together? Can you have just the side awning out, or do you always do the 2 sides? It feels like a 1 man van, and where would Bentley fit in?
Bet it still leaks in the rain! Best door shuts I have seen on a defender thou.
The battle axe is a nice touch; in some areas the chain and ball (spiked) would be handy.

Nice. I like that there is actually stuff in the cabinets, because showroom models don't really give an idea of how much storage there is.
Looks like they’ve done about as much as one can with the platform. Excellent. Love tambour doors. Never worry about them opening when your travelling

We used to have a holiday home in Cape Town. Our neighbour had a converted defender. It was superb and he used to go off real wild camping to Namibia etc. He would use the top bunk for sleeping due to the wild game. I was so envious 😁

This is one of the better conversions I've seen. Do they do troopies as well? Pity the new defender isn't a suitable platform for this sort of thing.
Jimny Overlanding - check out 4xoverland he did the first version of the Alu-cab roof conversion on his troppie. Better than the Defender in my opinion.

The canopy is pretty useless with the gap between it and the vehicle - thats gonna let rain in surely?
How does a small gap right next to the vehicle make the whole canopy useless? Unless you were leant against the vehicle you would be perfectly dry.

"It locks in place so no one can open it" - dude, it's a flimsy little catch, you could get it off in seconds, it needs to be on the inside. Great apart from that.

I've just finished converting my T5.1 and changed the documents to a motor caravan and the dvla want to know the in's and out's of a duck's ass and so did the insurance company 🤷♂️

6/10. Sleeping and driving for 2 people but only 1 lounge seat? Won't be long before someone skins their ankle and thigh on those cabinet catches. The cooker should always be removable for cooking outside option - need was mentioned.

Clever design on the limited space of a Defender. Need to be a Land Rover fan or already own one. A 4x4 Merc Sprinter is a far roomier and better proposition.
that’s right Ian Smith, but a 4x4 Sprinter is only a bad road vehicle and a Defender is an off-road vehicle and that makes the difference imho
Would be lovely if we can open the pop up roof tent from the inside. Park the car, open the tent and sleep, without going outside.
True. And I've often wondered about security with a pop top that opens from the outside? Seems like an easy access point for thieves.

14 plate defender 110 utility, plus alu-cab, all the other bits to convert and labour my guess would be £40-50,000
