I have no words to describe the excellency of this or any other video that I have seen till now... Hats off.. The way you present small details.. U just capture 100% attention of a person, and whatever information provided in video stays in mind forever.. Keep it up.. :)
I just got this speaker today after first purchasing then returning the more expensive Bose Soundlink 3. This speaker is without a doubt far superior in terms of sound, I'm so happy the Best Buy I went to had a demo so I could hear for myself how awesome this speaker is.
Just ordered mine through Amazon Gold Box deal for $139.99!! Should be coming tonight! Can't wait! (replacing a Bose soundlink 3 with a dead battery, won't hold a charge anymore) Was never really happy with the Bose sound anyways.
I saw that deal on Amazon too, and just ordered mine. I had this speaker before but had to return it bc I needed money. But now with this deal, I can’t miss it. You’ll be amazed by how this sounds man. I’m currently owning Jbl extreme and gotta say jbl sound is nothing compared to this beast.
Having a tough decision between this and the go and play HK. I absolutely love the look and “vibe” to the Marshall. But the HK has better sound and is capable of hooking up a second go and play.
Matt I would go with the HK go and play. When I was looking for a speaker I also checked the Marshall Kilburn but the HK has way better sound quality, which is more important than looks (in my opinion tho).
I have one and am actually listening to this video though it at the moment. It Is Excellent! Great sound. Loud enough for outdoors too. Beautifully crafted.
Although being heavy for a powerful portable speaker considered as cons. The review is a very clear one for me to decide which speaker to buy. i.e. I already have Jawbone mini jambox and it's very light in terms of weight however the speaker is 'literally' jumping on the table even if I set the volume a bit above of the average level when listening to bass rich song.
Andrew which do you prefer out of the Onyx Studio 3 out of the Kilburn for overall sound. Does not have to be movable. I like pop music, some club, and some old pop rock. Am I right in saying the Onyx can do lows better, but also mess them up. And vice versa, the Kilburn has more, better highs, but ironically messes them up? And power, the Onyx would win? I digressed LOL...your opinion. Much Thanks
Just ordered a Kilburn. Waiting on delivery as I type. In cream. When I cruise in my cream color 1958 Plymouth Fury it will be in the back seat. Hope it really rocks as well as they say it does.
Lennart Glamann Honestly, I thought it would perform better. it sounds okay, maybe a little clipped off at the top. I thought it would play louder. I think it would play it louder if something other than a smart phone was attached to it. but I love the looks and construction, so I'm going to keep it.
Great video dude! I have a question. Do you think the Kilburn would be great when I play sports? Is it then loud enough? Or do you prefer the UE Megaboom for outdoor?
Maybe this is a stupid question, but could I use this with my guitar? I love the size and how it looks but they don´t advertise it as a mini amp for guitar...
Miguel Diaz just plug the aux cord from the amp to the input to the speaker but be careful with the volume and dont use with bass guitars because you could very possibly destroy the speaker. This speaker is not an amp replacement.
I’m looking for a very heavy bass speaker, doesn’t need to be wireless or Bluetooth. Can be plugged into mains. Can you guys recommend me a product? I don’t know where to start.... thanks.
Would it be possible to have a video where the Marshall Kilburn goes against the Brookstone Big Blue Party? I'm stuck on deciding what to get. Please help.
Could you tell me if Bose SoundLink 2 or Marshall Kilburn is a better buy? I am so confused. Both look nice, Marshall has a slight edge on beauty. But Bose is big name too, small in size and and i've come across some epic reviews.

Hi Andrew, this is an awesome review. Thanks to you i decided to buy this speaker.. But once I have paired my iPhone, my wife's Android phone and my computer via Bluetooth, do you know how to easily switch from one source to another?? What's the point of being able to remember 6 different bluetooth devices? It seems the Kilburn automatically connects to the last device I paired and pressing the source button only switch the aux cable input.
do you have any issues regarding the quality of the speaker? Is there any issue with Bluetooth connectivity? I've heard they have very short life expectancy like 6 months.
Ok I still don’t know how it sounds ‘cause you didn’t let us hear how any kind of music sounds from this. That’s what most really care about. The other stuff is secondary. Oh well I guess I’ll have to find someone who reviewed it and let us hear some music played from it.
Looking for something to replace a dying Jawbone BIG Jambox (the woofer is muddy when turning the volume up now) Anyone able to compare the volume for these two?
I wouldn't get too excited over that replaceable battery. I bought one of these Marshall Kilbourne Bluetooth speakers and shortly after the battery died and would not hold a charge. I contacted the company and believe it or not they did not sell replacement batteries unbelievable no battery. So what I had to do was go and purchase another identical speaker switch it out with mine and then take it back to the store. I highly recommend doing that that would be the quickest easiest way to get a new battery and not have a useless speaker. What kind of company would make a product claim it has a replaceable battery and then not sell one.
Thats exacly wy reading helps.... I also own one of these since almost 3 years now. It works finde and i have capacity tested the batterys and they are aroud 90 % after 3 years of use. Hi Andrew, How do you compare this Kilburn to Stanmore? I like the size of the Stanmore but it doesn't have a battery. How you do compare the sounds of both of them? Many thanks for sharing!
+Vince Both are quite loud! The Kilburn goes to about 92gb without distorting, where as the Stanmore can go to about 99db. I think Im more partial to the Kilburn, but both are awesome!
Stanmore for sure then. If portability was important, I'd point you there. but since it isn't, the Stanmore has louder sound, and a warm tone. Both great, but it is louder and better sounding. it doesn't have the power constraints of the other.
Great review video . But I wouldn’t complain about the weight D; . If we do they’ll try to make it lighter and just how you mentioned the build quality is very good , I’m sure if they focus on making it lighter the build quality will lower D; .
Kilburn or Acton? Can't seem to decide. Kilburn definitely looks better. But in your opinion which one is better. I don really mind if it's portable or not.
Sound is pretty close. If you are really concerned, the non portable option would probably be better, but it is a nice option to have the portability feature.
+Kjeksuell Just a little quieter. The stanmore is going to be about 99db, this will be about 90 without losing quality. Both have extremely good sound quality. we also reviewed the Stanmore if you haven't seen it! The link is at the end of the video!
+Kjeksuell The Stanmore can hit lower notes but the Kilburn reaches impressively deep for it's size. As with all smaller speakers you will get deeper bigger sound near walls or more confined spaces. Frequency response rolls off around 60 Hz on the Kilburn but I can knock that down to 50 Hz and even hear some 40 Hz notes in the right conditions. Treble is perfect IMO.
Acton bluetooth model is now with 50W output power and delivery MUCH more bass than kilburn with just 25W... Kilburn - frequency response: 62hz to 20khz Acton - frequency response: 50hz to 20khz (much more deep bass..)
kevin p Nooooo. Sorry. Not what I meant. I thought you meant that you could plug your phone into the speaker and charge it will on the go. The battery inside is replaceable once it stops holding a charge. but you recharge this like every other USB speaker. So it has a rechargeable battery inside, but over time its capacity will deplete. That is when you could replace it with a new one.
+victor vanclooster They are pretty similar. the Kilburn is SLIGHTLY quieter at only about 92db, compared to the Onyx Studio 2 which is 95db. On the other hand, the battery life on the Onyx is considerably less. The Onyx Studio 2 can only go maybe 5 hours. The Kilburn I got 18 hours, though they say it can go up to 20.
Your going to do a review on a product and you didn’t let us hear how it sounds? In what world does that even make sense? But you did a good job on the review besides that. Not trying to kick you in the chops but I wanted to hear the marshal.
+Andrew OHara thanks for the reponse. Im wondering what type of the battery the kilburn has. Can you send me the actual battery. Im thinking to buy spares
I just listened to this for about an hour in a store, alongside the Fugoo XL. I noticed that the Kilburn was much clearer, and gave a much truer, more neutral playback of electronic music (and all music really). It didn't distort any of the sounds and played it exactly as I knew my favorites to sound. Whereas the Fugoo, for example, somewhat altered a lot of songs, either subtly or more noticeably sometimes.
+siddesh mestry I actually went to Best Buy to listen to the JBL Xtreme and the Fugoo XL. After two minutes with each, I, personally, ruled out the JBL. I just didn't like it as much as the Fugoo. I didn't like how directional the Xtreme was; like if you weren't DIRECTLY in front of it, sound quality dropped off significantly. Then as I was sampling the Fugoo XL a little more, I started demo'ing the Kilburn which was sitting alongside the Fugoo XL. I consistently found that the Kilburn was the best. It sounds so neutral, so clear, has great range. And I'm really not the kind of person that always NEEDS a "neutral sound signature," but I could really appreciate that quality with the Kilburn. I am trying to purchase a Kilburn as we speak (they are out of stock at every Best Buy in my area. There were tons of Fugoos and Xtremes sitting on the shelves, mind you.).
+siddesh mestry No problem bro, I'd definitely say try and go listen to them too if you can. There's no substitute for hearing them yourself, and preferably with your own desired music if possible.
Haha... were you going to judge the merits of a speaker, after having it recorded by a podcasting mic, then played back second-hand through... computer or phone speakers?
your video is high quality in every other way and I do have some really good monitor speakers on my computer so yeah I would have liked to got an idea of what they sound like compared to some other videos I watch with sound clips
I just don't see the need for them. You may have some nice monitor speakers, but what happens to the majority of people who don't? All the sudden this great speaker sounds tinny and weak through their laptop speakers and they think it sucks? And you don't know what mic Im using. So even though your speakers rock, if the mic can't capture it, it will still sound bad. I would like to hear what they sound like too, but for the majority of people, trying to get that through a recording and computer speakers will just make the speaker seem worse...
I totally agree but on the other hand you can't do anything about the way people listen to videos but you can do something about the way a video is produced and how the sound is projected... I've watched many Gear videos like we all have and I can tell the difference even through my phone, so if a pro shot video is good enough for the company represented than it should be good enough for everybody else but you can't just pop up in your bedroom with an iPhone and represent a product in the right way so for that you're doing an awesome job and keep up the good work
Nope. Just like some new Apple's phone, you use untill the battery out and simply buy a new one. IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE . . I'm kidding a charger is build-in (like the Playstation)
i would rather go for audio pro over marshall in terms of its specification. t.co/dzN0Qyl1yp u can see the bluetooth spec coverage is better, which is vital for signaling.
Ieva Igaunaitė hi there Ive just bought one of these brand new from eBay and just to let you know it comes with two leads one with a European plug and one for the UK so you basically just plug it nd charge with the speaker switched on and the battery light will pulse slowly as it's charging up.
review of a speaker without turning it on and showing the sound? wtf is that? it's the review of a piece of furniture or of a sound equipment? my god..
Cassio Murillo Playing a speaker in a review is somewhat pointless, there are too many things that affect the sound between the speaker playing it and you hearing it. the mic has to pick up the speaker, then has to convert to digital, then gets compressed and uploaded, then gets streamed and compressed again, then has to get converted back to analog, then finally has to go through your headphones.
Its still a fantastic speaker. and it will sound really good listening to rap. That just isn't what it is tuned for. But again, high end speakers will always sound way above most others, there are possibly just better speakers for the rap genre.
Duuuuude. Think about it. First, it would depend on the audio quality of the source material. Ripped cd or iTunes plus media file? Then what about my Mic that I am using? Is it of high enough quality to record the audio out of the speaker without compromising quality? Plus, RUclips compresses the crap out of the audio and video. That will knock quality down another peg. Lets pretend you have no loss in allllll of that (which Is impossible). when it gets to you, are you on your phone? Or your computer? Unless you are cranking my review through some high end speakers it is not going to sound as good. All of these amount to it being a terrible idea to try and actually record music coming out of a speaker, for someone to judge that quality of that speaker. Its not going to sound as good as if you were actually there. People will here it and go "Oh.. thats how it sounds? It sounds so flat!" which is unfair.
I have no words to describe the excellency of this or any other video that I have seen till now... Hats off.. The way you present small details.. U just capture 100% attention of a person, and whatever information provided in video stays in mind forever.. Keep it up.. :)

a trick : you can watch movies at KaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies lately.
@Reese Immanuel definitely, been using Kaldrostream for since december myself :)
I don’t find heavy as a Con.
If you want quality speaker, that additional weight is a plus for me! 👍🏻
botsok3skelion the cons were more personal preference
I have one and it sounds great. They have a newer version now. The Kilburn II. So you may want to get that but I’m very happy with it.
u sound like chris griffin from family guy :D
I can't watch the whole video anymore without thinking it's Chris... thanks
good call

One more to add to the "Pros": When the battery is fully charged, gives you up to 20 hours of play time. It is quite important. Cheers...
I have one and am actually listening to this video though it at the moment. It Is Excellent! Great sound. Loud enough for outdoors too. Beautifully crafted.
Great Review! :) Hoping to pick up one very soon! Can't wait to watch more of this content.!

That is very true! Good point!

Lee Crt How loud do you say it is max?
Not loud enough for me via smartphone. And I am not deaf. Not loud enough to be satisfied.
Thank you for mentioning its better than the UE Megaboom. I've now decided to buy this.
David Barron Do you like it more after 9 months?
Hello mate thanks for video, i have one question which is better the sound killburn or harman kardon onyx 4 ? Thanks u
Should i go for stockwell or kilburn or some other speakers?
Good for 2020 , and what's the watts
Damn this is beautiful and appears very solid!
The kilburn sound much better, clearer and louder that the Bose mini link 3.
Great video dude! I have a question. Do you think the Kilburn would be great when I play sports? Is it then loud enough? Or do you prefer the UE Megaboom for outdoor?
Love it! If you ever want to sell it, I would love to buy this Kilburn from you!
Maybe this is a stupid question, but could I use this with my guitar? I love the size and how it looks but they don´t advertise it as a mini amp for guitar...

I am thinking of buying this product in a couple of days, but what if i want to watch movies using this speaker, will it audio sound good?
Hi Andrew, if the battery dies or no longer recharging, can i still use it by just plugging it in?
will this be loud enough while I play on my drum kit?
I’m looking for a very heavy bass speaker, doesn’t need to be wireless or Bluetooth. Can be plugged into mains. Can you guys recommend me a product? I don’t know where to start.... thanks.
oh shit, got to get some strap locks...
TheGamerx584 lol
Would it be possible to have a video where the Marshall Kilburn goes against the Brookstone Big Blue Party? I'm stuck on deciding what to get. Please help.
I have an audio technica Bluetooth turntable I’m looking to pair this up with... will they do well together you think? Opinions?
Hi, Marshall compare with teufel boomter XL which one sound quality is the best?
How do you know it's fully charge?
Did you mention your using a Bluetooth app for sound quality? If so please tell me what app your using?
Could you tell me if Bose SoundLink 2 or Marshall Kilburn is a better buy?
I am so confused.
Both look nice, Marshall has a slight edge on beauty.
But Bose is big name too, small in size and and i've come across some epic reviews.
I prefer the Marshall over the Bose, but I do like both.
Great review.. Just a quick question.
How do you rate Kilburn against 2 JBL Charge 3 paired in stereo mode ?
I am totally confused between this option since 2 JBL charge 3 would cost me exactly the same as 1 Kilburn.
Help me out here. .
Thats tough.. idk. I really love the Kilburn.
My problem is the switch and the controls at the top which make it kind of portable but you have to be way more careful with transport than with a JBL Charge2+ for example
It seems the Kilburn automatically connects to the last device I paired and pressing the source button only switch the aux cable input.
good review! has d pros and cons of the speaker thanks mate!
do you have any issues regarding the quality of the speaker? Is there any issue with Bluetooth connectivity? I've heard they have very short life expectancy like 6 months.
I havent had any issues
Ok I still don’t know how it sounds ‘cause you didn’t let us hear how any kind of music sounds from this. That’s what most really care about. The other stuff is secondary. Oh well I guess I’ll have to find someone who reviewed it and let us hear some music played from it.
The sound quality you would hear would be limited to his mic and your speakers.
Just buy it, this is state of the art speakers
I mean if you want to hear the actual speaker , it’s not fair if you listen it through your phone because it’s your phone playing the music at the end
My goal is to shake a tiny Toyota truck. Will this work pretty good or should I look elsewhere
How long is the charging time to get full battery? It does not indicate? And where can you buy a new battery?
1. about two hours max. 2. it doesnt 3. Marshall website
Looking for something to replace a dying Jawbone BIG Jambox (the woofer is muddy when turning the volume up now) Anyone able to compare the volume for these two?

If you wan´t replacement you coud buy one of the manny other branded cells on the internet since the speaker uses a generic battery type.
Reading comments like yours realy gives me brain damage.

i m looking for bluetooth speakers - about 300 € that look nice but also are great in sound. are these the best?
iKian11 harman kardon go and play
Hi Andrew,
How do you compare this Kilburn to Stanmore? I like the size of the Stanmore but it doesn't have a battery. How you do compare the sounds of both of them? Many thanks for sharing!
+Vince Both are quite loud! The Kilburn goes to about 92gb without distorting, where as the Stanmore can go to about 99db. I think Im more partial to the Kilburn, but both are awesome!
Stanmore has no battery, right? This one has.
Should I go for Stanmore or Kilburn. Loudness and clarity more important.
Stanmore for sure then. If portability was important, I'd point you there. but since it isn't, the Stanmore has louder sound, and a warm tone. Both great, but it is louder and better sounding. it doesn't have the power constraints of the other.
Where will i buy for a replacement battery?
amazing picture in this video👌🏻👌🏻
so which model last more then 3 years ? looks like a buy and throw away brand
They are very well made. I've never had one break. I currently still use the small portable one as well as the Kilburn.
Is possible to connect to a keyboard?
Great review video . But I wouldn’t complain about the weight D; . If we do they’ll try to make it lighter and just how you mentioned the build quality is very good , I’m sure if they focus on making it lighter the build quality will lower D; .
Kilburn or Acton? Can't seem to decide. Kilburn definitely looks better. But in your opinion which one is better. I don really mind if it's portable or not.
mini Taohu i think the sound is very simular.
Sound is pretty close. If you are really concerned, the non portable option would probably be better, but it is a nice option to have the portability feature.
which one is better killburn or stovkwell?
This is better but much larger
Is the sound weaker compared to the stanmore and what about the soundquality? :) nice review
+Kjeksuell Just a little quieter. The stanmore is going to be about 99db, this will be about 90 without losing quality. Both have extremely good sound quality. we also reviewed the Stanmore if you haven't seen it! The link is at the end of the video!
Thanks for the answer! I saw the other review as well :) think i'll purchase the Kilburn as i can bring it anywhere, the beach, the park, the bathroom
What Bluetooth variations does it support? ATP-X?
The Kilburn does not support it, but their Stanmore does.
Which one sounds better : Killburn or Acton ?
Acton + Build-in battery = Kilburn
.
so i bet it is +5 on Sound Damage
Which has more bass from acton and killburn?
Acton bluetooth model is now with 50W output power and delivery MUCH more bass than kilburn with just 25W...
Kilburn - frequency response: 62hz to 20khz
Acton - frequency response: 50hz to 20khz (much more deep bass..)
So the battery is replaceable... but can it recharge like any cellphone?
It doesn't have USB out
Andrew OHara So once it dies, its over?
It can't re-charge a cellphone, but it can recharge LIKE a cellphone, yes
Sam Hoiles pardon me?
kevin p Nooooo. Sorry. Not what I meant. I thought you meant that you could plug your phone into the speaker and charge it will on the go. The battery inside is replaceable once it stops holding a charge. but you recharge this like every other USB speaker. So it has a rechargeable battery inside, but over time its capacity will deplete. That is when you could replace it with a new one.
is it stereo?
what is the purpose of having a replaceable battery?
Lithium ion batteries start to lose their life after a lot of use. The fact you can have it replaced would extend the life of the speaker.
Marshall vs jbl boom box . Which is better?
Good question... Biggest JBL BoomBox is best choise for music quality. But very horrible price.
How do you charge this device?
"I *heavy breathing* have *heavy breathing* astma problems *heavy breathing*"
the poor basterd lol
The battery doesn't last and they don't sell a replacement even though it is easy to remove by the consumer.
How is it compared to the harman kardon onyx studio?
+victor vanclooster They are pretty similar. the Kilburn is SLIGHTLY quieter at only about 92db, compared to the Onyx Studio 2 which is 95db. On the other hand, the battery life on the Onyx is considerably less. The Onyx Studio 2 can only go maybe 5 hours. The Kilburn I got 18 hours, though they say it can go up to 20.
does it have apt-X?
Just the stanmore (which we also reviewed!) supports aptX
Andrew OHara is the stanmmore portable?
Unfortunately, no. It needs to be plugged in
Then what about Creative IRoar? It's sound is great, able to defeat Marshall Kilburn.
This or Fender Newport?
Does the power need to be on in order for it to charge ?
nope!
Actually, yes.
Your going to do a review on a product and you didn’t let us hear how it sounds? In what world does that even make sense? But you did a good job on the review besides that. Not trying to kick you in the chops but I wanted to hear the marshal.
Can you make a video of what kind and specs of the battery of kilburn? Planning to get one
+Nikki Angelo Gonzales I get about 18-20 hours in my testing on the battery.
+Andrew OHara thanks for the reponse. Im wondering what type of the battery the kilburn has. Can you send me the actual battery. Im thinking to buy spares
I don't have any real specs for it. It is a special battery that I believe you can get through Marshall.
+Andrew OHara you mean to say that you havent replaced the battery yet? Im wondering if its an 18650 type of battery or not. Hmm
No, I havent replaced mine yet.
Which country produce Marshal
Is it real leather?
is this good for trance and dance music. i listen to rock and metal and i know this one is perfect for that, but someone tell me about dance music

I am trying to purchase a Kilburn as we speak (they are out of stock at every Best Buy in my area. There were tons of Fugoos and Xtremes sitting on the shelves, mind you.).
tysm :D i think ill go for killburn then :)
+siddesh mestry No problem bro, I'd definitely say try and go listen to them too if you can. There's no substitute for hearing them yourself, and preferably with your own desired music if possible.
Us aliens got these
what happened to actually playing something through these speakers
Haha... were you going to judge the merits of a speaker, after having it recorded by a podcasting mic, then played back second-hand through... computer or phone speakers?
Andrew OHara -
your video is high quality in every other way and I do have some really good monitor speakers on my computer so yeah I would have liked to got an idea of what they sound like compared to some other videos I watch with sound clips
I've watched many Gear videos like we all have and I can tell the difference even through my phone, so if a pro shot video is good enough for the company represented than it should be good enough for everybody else but you can't just pop up in your bedroom with an iPhone and represent a product in the right way so for that you're doing an awesome job and keep up the good work
does it come with a charger?
Nope. Just like some new Apple's phone, you use untill the battery out and simply buy a new one. IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE
.
.
I'm kidding a charger is build-in (like the Playstation)
Kilburn or Klipsch?

i would rather go for audio pro over marshall in terms of its specification.

u can see the bluetooth spec coverage is better, which is vital for signaling.
lamfo, indeed. but in marketing world, ppl is always blinded by branding
why the cost is different in different currencies?
lol, shipping cost issue, apparently
Thanks for sharing chris. You are correct. I am a fan of audio pro too!
Replacing the battery how haha??
I bouth this masterpiece, fakin amazing for all music even psy trance. good base, good natural sound, long lasting battery. very good purchase
so how do I charge this?
I'm interested on clarity on this as well!
Ieva Igaunaitė hi there Ive just bought one of these brand new from eBay and just to let you know it comes with two leads one with a European plug and one for the UK so you basically just plug it nd charge with the speaker switched on and the battery light will pulse slowly as it's charging up.
can i plug into my lap top ?
Kilburn vs JBL charge 3? sound quality
Personally, prefer the Kilburn
whats better for rap music ?
Biggest JBL BoomBox is best for Hip - Hop/RAP.
review of a speaker without turning it on and showing the sound? wtf is that? it's the review of a piece of furniture or of a sound equipment?
Abadee,abadee abadee that's all folks
Great vid=)
I only listen rap music, is this speaker worth it then?
Its still a fantastic speaker. and it will sound really good listening to rap. That just isn't what it is tuned for. But again, high end speakers will always sound way above most others, there are possibly just better speakers for the rap genre.
e che cazzo accendilo no......fai sentire......
Kann den Marshall - Kilburn Portable Lautsprecher amzn.to/2Dp05aN für Rund 175 Euro sehr empfehlen.
marshall or jbl
+calie fick Marshall
wtf is this..... review without even playing the SPEAKER ??????????
Dexcom❤️
U r so lucky that is ultra pimp
We’re here on a speaker review. Play music for ffs
