Lemme set the scene here folks. District band 2019. 6 out of 8 of us percussionists showed (the two guys missed for a good reason). We get to this song, and all of the perc parts were covered by ONE person. Including mallets. If the other two guys were there this song would have been a breeze. But since this is not the case, this is probably one of the more difficult songs I’ve had to do. End of story have good day
As the guy who plays all the mallet parts in my schools band for this piece, I feel for you. My last performance of it was earlier today and I'll miss it but boy was it a wild ride!
Played this song in 2018. Remember seeing my crush everyday at rehearsal and I get nostalgia from this song. We broke after a while back but this song gives me such beautiful memories with her. Band was really one of the best things I could’ve joined and both her and this song will hold a special place in my heart.
same bruh. but we’re going out of state like twice (as a middle school band) lwk looking forward to playing this tho (where my bass trombone players at!?!?)
Revisiting this from JanFest 2018 at UGA It was an amazing song ,the whistling, was great and our conductor andrea brown was just amazing too . made it fun and flute part was cool and the trombones were so amazing i lived for this piece.
I was super excited to perform this for 2019-2020 8th grade UIL, but COVID-19 caused school to be cancelled along with UIL. It was just so anticlimactic and it made everyone really disappointed :(
7th grade. Second year of playing trombone, im on third part with an eighth grader who is much better than me, carrying the part until i learn it and am decent. he becomes ineligible in the LAST 9 WEEKS and I have to play 3rd part BY MYSELF for ALL our important concerts.

If 6 percussionists showed, why did one person cover all the parts? 🤔

I played this in eighth grade and always thought it was a grade 3. Seems pretty easy for a grade 4 but idk exactly how the scoring works.

Memories...
played this song at a summer camp and it makes me realize how much i miss all the people there :(
This song is amazing if you stay in tempo and especial of percussion 3 isn't run by 1 guy AKA me.
Played this for all district in Feb 2020, the piccolo part is so beautiful
As a clarinet in 8th grade getting pulled up to marching band, this was truly fun
