    I’m a loyal Lexus owner of over 20 years I’ve owned ES, GS and 3 RX350’s, my daily driver is a 2019. It’s VERY disappointing that they are no longer offering a V6 option. The 3.5 V6 engine has been very reliable throughout the Toyota and Lexus lines. It also means that this vehicle will require premium gas which the previous RX’s don’t. My Lexus loyalty might be ending.

    Meh, the GV80 is much more innovative and groundbreaking than that lexus honestly. Toyota just plays way too safe with their luxury models often falling years behind in features and comforts compared to the competition, the only thing they really got going for them is reliability but genesis's 10 year warranty kinda negates that.

And that’s with the existing model, not the new which is coming later this year. And your logic is flawed. No one is cross shopping either Genesis or Lexus with Bentley but they ARE cross shopping them with each other and apparently more people are putting their money of on the RX than the GV. For this car I need a v6, sad I won't get one. I gave my old RX 350 to my oldest son and will be holding onto my highlander but you almost got me to want to upgrade. They want to charge more for less, they are out of their minds. The engine is the heart of this vehicle and at this price point I expect a V6. Only a 2 zone AC system, is this an NX? Hi Joe. That's good there's a new generation Lexus RX 350 now. It's been long overdue. Lexus RX 350 fans are probably saying to themselves "finally." For this new generation RX 350 I'm not too thrilled about it. The overall design schematics for it is towards the subtle side in comparison to the outgoing generation. Due to the fact that this new generation was overdue, myself and probably some other people expected a more drastic change in design. From my view this design looks like a mid-cycle refresh design. My next zonk is about the powertrain. They still could've kept the 3.5 liter V6. I know due to emissions that forced them to ditch the V6, but they still could've kept it though. Acura with the new generation MDX still kept the V6, Infiniti with the new generation QX60 still kept the V6 and some other manufacturers as well. What Lexus should've done was still keep the 3.5 liter V6 as the standard with a little increase in both horsepower and torque. Then, have the other powertrains as optional like the 2.4 liter turbocharged four cylinder, the hybrid and the electric. As for a performance oriented model they should come out with one that has a twin turbo V6 so that it'll go up against the BMW X5M and Mercedes GLE AMG 63. The exhaust tips should've been exposed for models with the 2.4 liter turbocharged engine. The exterior lights should all be LED. LED exterior lights and LED interior lights should be the standard across all RX 350 trims. Jeep did this with the new Grand Cherokee L as well as the new two row version, Acura with the new MDX and Infiniti with the new QX60 did the same as well. The cargo space appeared to be towards the small side based on what was shown in this video. The new two row version for the Jeep Grand Cherokee has more cargo space when the seats are in place and more cargo space when the seats are folded down. The seats fold flat in the Jeep unlike the Lexus. In comparison to the Genesis GV80 the GV80 beats this new RX 350. The GV80 beats it in performance, features and cargo space. For the Lexus RX 350 that's good they have 21 inch rims and a bigger size infotainment screen.

    Joe, good review and walk thru on the new RX 350. It's a nice looking redeisgn with Muscularity. BUT, the MDX Type S will Blow this away. The only shortcoming o the Acura is their TTIP InfoT. system. I have a 22 MDX Advance (non Type S) and Really like it (I reserve Love for people / Family). The RX has more Torque bc of the Turbo , but less HP. The Turbo will have Lag to some extent. And the SH-AWD system in the Acura is hard to beat by anybody. The Genesis is more appealing to me, however, Lexus blows them away with resale value. Same with Acura - solid resale values. That really is a topic for another forum, but with the advent of EVs being collectivley shoved down our throtas, the resale value of ICE cars may be in jeopardy. The reslae values in 3 to 4 years may be "Ziltch" - TBD. It is a dynamic for the immediate future. One last comment about the RX , Lexus should have included Massaging front seats like the Type S .

    • @gns942
      @gns942 2 года назад

      I'm with you on the high mile turbo thing - turbos have bearings that spin super fast in the center housing, supported only by a thin film of oil. There's no way that thing will last 100k miles, not when it's abused by your typical driver who starts the car on a cold morning and floors it right out of the driveway. The same driver also does 10k mile oil change intervals as per the dealer recommendation, so expect that turbo's life to be even shorter.

    Looks more like a capybara to me.
    While I like the 2.4T (T24A-FTS) if considered by itself, I still think that the outgoing V6 (2GR-FKS) is the superior engine. I don't care that the 2.4T has more torque down low, it's still a 4 popper powered by a turbo, which means more stress and heat to dissipate through fewer cylinders and lower displacement. Turbos are additional complexity and don't do well if they're pushed hard before the oil has reached operating temperature, and they also necessitate more frequent oil changes because of gas blow by contaminating the oil.
    I get that Lexus wants to lower its emissions and the 2.4T does that better than the V6, but this just reeks of cost cutting to me. At this point, I'd much rather have the RX350h and at least get stellar fuel economy while not losing out too much on power. Ideally, I'd take the RX450h+ or RX500h and get the best of both worlds.

    Lexus seemingly always impresses yet still dissapoints me more. It is gorgeous outside so much better than the hideous mishmash of a design of the previous generation. But once again features a lackluster interior. Additionally the “redesign” is a stretch the same way it was on the is this is an evolution not a redesign although it’s an improvement more needed to be done, seems half baked and the proportions are a little odd. Just another Lexus I can’t justify spending this amount of money on, they used to be cheaper than the Germans but through the years crept right up to them and it’s extremely hard to not step up, besides the reliability factor. Even Mazda Hyundai and Kia offer plush options that can near rival this at a cheaper price, before even stepping up to genesis.

      It looks mediocre at best.
      It’s obvious Lexus wants to go downmarket and be even more uncompetitive like infiniti

      @@naveenthemachine Yeah I'm actually surprised. RX isn't a cheap model. This RX looks basic inside.

      @@Nestle245 well we all knew the RX would already be at the bottom of the pack despite being under embargo.

    If you're going to stick to 4-cylinders than the RX has a chance for sure, as it's really nice for 2023. Now if you're talking about the GV80 3.5T then the Lexus doesn't compare.

      @Jean Toronto Raptors Yeah and it's still a 4-cylinder. It isn't just about numbers, it's about refinement.

      @Jean Toronto Raptors Even if it had more power it will definitely be slower than a Twin-Turbo 6

    Everything about Lexus design since the LFA is appropriately futuristic, right down to the shifter. If it only had a hybrid V6 to go along with it.
