I'm having my interview at kcl next week and I'm sooo stressed but also so grateful for your and Kenji's videos, I would have had a much smaller chance for an interview invitation without you, thanks!!!
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for making these extremely helpful videos. It’s really stressful getting into medicine or dentistry so thanks a lot for the help!
This is literally what I call a lifesaver video. Thanks a bunch. That pic looked like 40 to 50 people though that was my first thought😂. No one guessed the m&m's yet? Anyway I was thinking about the time you spoke about the first time you applied to med school and got one interview which you didn't pass. I was kinda wondering what the difference between the first time you had that interview and your comeback was. What kind of mistakes did you make the first time that you were sure not to repeat. That kind of stuff.
Cheers Maryam! Glad you enjoyed it :) if I remember correctly I counted like 70 people or so?! No one guessed it yet but it's long forgotten now. It was 192! Yeah definitely a huge change beteeen both interviews. Mostly in how much I prepared and did proper research. I actually knew what kinds of questions were likely to come up and I practiced over and over again. I also matured and grew up as a person over four years of university and life hahaha. But honestly the best thing I can say is to just prepare as much as you can. there is a wealth of info on the internet you just have to find it. 😁
This was seriously useful. Thank you for making this! I have my MMI interview next week! Ahhhhh. I have a "critical thinking" station. I'm not quite sure what kind of questions this would entail. I'm assuming it would be similar to describe this picture etc... If you have any helpful tips for critical thinking then please could you share them? Thanks again!
Thanks Zainab and congrats! I haven't heard of a critical thinking station to be honest. It will likely have you thinking on your feet! Do some solid googling and also check forums on the student room to see if anyone has encountered it before 😊
Thanks Alicia, are you thinking of studying there? I've been thinking of doing that. Might be a bit depressing though 😂 But yes keep an eye out for it!
Always superb work done Keep on doing such videos.. Ur a lifeline to all of us.stay blessed Now I hv to go and offer prayer..lots of prayers for u toooooo😊good job Good luck for future Dr nasir
Hey guys, I feel like the photo question is very similar to the photo card question in GCSE and I'd imagine A Level Languages of they do it. The only real difference is instead of speaking for 3 minutes, you have to speak for like 8. The exam boards publish the photo cards they use on their websites so I think it would be a good idea to go on AQA for instance and practice on all the photo cards for Spanish and then move onto another language and do all of their photo cards.
I’ve been given a list of questions for Sheffield and station 9 is a game of 20 questions. How would you suggest going about this, it’s thrown me a little being asked to be the one asking the questions. Cheers for this series and this channel as ever, whatever happens I’ll give it my best and have no regrets and this channel helps so much, I’m sure others feel the same. ❤️
That's so nice of you to say! 😁 Wow I've never heard of that and I have no real strategy! Just go for it and try to ask more broad questions and move more specific. Have fun with it! Interesting and unique question for sure 😃
Awesome hoodie and awesome video! 😁 This made me feel so much more confident about these types of questions! I still haven't received any interview invites but Bristol has already sent their first batch of invitations (mainly candidates with ukcat of 720+)
@@abdikhan9351 My application is on hold as well. As Shahriar said, it probably just means that we will receive a reply only in January when the next batch of interview invites comes out
@@MrShah434 As far as I remember, I asked Karma Medic this question few months ago and he said that there was no role play at his interview at Bristol. Obviously things might have changed this year so i'm not really sure tbh
Hi Nasir. I recently did a mock MMI at UWO and for the drawing station we had to sit back to back with another student and instruct them how to draw a cartoon drawing of a ship with waves, sails, etc. I was unsure how to approach this, as no part of the drawing could be reduced to simplified shapes to instruct the other student on. I haven't seen any examples of this online and would love any feedback. I started out with your recommendation to give them an overview before beginning of what the final product should look like, asked them to please feel free to ask me to repeat or rephrase any of my instructions, and made sure to check in with them that they were doing okay. But after that I was bumbling over how to exactly draw the ship.
Nice on everything you mentioned! Other than that it is all about giving clear communication. There is no 100% right answer but the station is about your communication with the other student not so much what the final picture looks like! As long as you tried hard, were clear, concise, and polite, you should be good!
A few!? NICE 😁 I remember I was so nervous. Lots of preparation helps the most so you are confident in yourself and then after that the same day don't do any work! Just calm yourself down by listening to your favourite music or reading a book. Remember that they are genuinely interested in who you are as a person and you just want to tell them. Treat it more as a casual conversation than a formal interview :) Good luck and let me know how they go!!
Hi Kharma Medic, I really find your videos to be helpful so thank you for taking the time to make them. I have a question though: I have a virtual MMI with Imperial College on Wednesday and have structured my answer for the "Why do you Want to Study Medicine" Question. I have also done some reading about NHS hot topics and such and have watched some videos like yours on how to answer MMI questions properly. I've also done a few-practise problem-solving questions. Are there any other questions that I need to specifically prepare for? Also do you have any other overall advice for the interview. Thanks in advance.
Also, this MMI is one which I have to record myself and then send to them to mark, so do you think my answers should be modified to account for this/would this change anything?
Hi I was just wondering if the map would be facing u or the interviewer. Because if it’s facing the interviewer would you have to say the opposite directions (because their left would be my right)? Loved the video!!
YES. how did it make you feel? What went well? What didn't go so well? What are you going to do in the future to improve a similar experience. What would you have done differently if you could go back? What strengths do you have that helped you in the situation. Etc!
Hi! I have just received an interview I was wondering if you could send me the questions that you mentioned in a prior video that you used to prepare for MMI’s
Hey Charlotte, congrats on the interview! That list of questions is an accumulated set of Google searches along the lines of 'MMI questions UK, MMI king's college London, Bristol MMI questions' etc... I hope that helps 🙂 Compile the document and then start answering the questions, it's the best way to prepare!
