I have the 540 and I bought the RnB Lithium Ion Battery for mine. I love my 540. It has the same circuitry as the Nox without all the bells and whistles.
They will find most anything anything else will find just depends on what you want to spend some people have to have a Cadillac but a ole ford will get you to the same place keep on digging!😊
Great video! My MD journey began 3 yrs ago and went from Go Find 66 to Ace 300 to Equinox 600 and currently have Equinox 800. I found a sweet local deal for Vanquish 440 for $80 and couldn't pass up the deal. I realize it is not a 540 like your video but so far I am impressed with how solid the ID numbers are with the Vanquish! Thanks for your video and field run!
Great video thanks. We are trying to learn how to use the 540 that my wife just got for Christmas. We have a beach trip coming up in February. Do you have any guide to the numbers and what item they indicate? Thank you.
The best thing to do is take some sample targets and see what they do with your machine. Coins are usually nickel-27 penny-62 dime-78 and quarter-88. It can vary depends on orientation, depth, soil. Gold tends to be lower and silver tender to be higher #'s, again all depends on size and shape. Watch any video with an Xterra or Equinox 700 or 900. Virtutally the same numbers. Good luck out there!
Just picked up an X-Terra Pro for $100 and now I have 3 metal detectors. Vanquish 440 is my back up. The Nox 800 is my go-to and still learning XTP with -16 to 99 VDI. I noticed your pinpointer…which model is it? Minelab PP right? Thinking of getting something different than the Garrett PP.
I'd stay with the garrett unless you feel like it's not working with. Most of the time my ML pp's works fine, once in awhile they seem to have a mind of their own.
Great video! I have really enjoyed my Vanquish 540 that I got in 2022. However, I have a question concerning the iron bias-- no matter what I try, it actually reads iron objects (a ton of clearly iron old nails and random pieces) as 25-36 and sometimes even 12-18! I don't know how to fix this, no matter what I dig listening to those tones, for the most part it ALWAYS comes up as iron! how can this be possible, even with the Iron Disrimination on, and the iron tones turned down? I always make sure to have the Horseshoe button pressed until the nail icon shows up as well, what can I do to fix this and get accurate readings on targets? I'm honestly considering stretching myself and getting the Equinox 900, really tired of all the confused tones and just coming up with iron! ^_^ Thank you!! ^_^
I know exactly what you mean. Unfortunately depending on the size, shape and amount of rust you're going to get random tones all across the scale. For example if you see any of my beach hunts, I'll get a jumpy tone that both low and high, say -10 and 65. If I disable the horse shoe it will silence that neg. tone and number but I will get a scratchy 60's. Most of the time this end up being a steel tent stake. The size and condition of that tent stake will change that number too. You have to make a decision if you're going to dig up these "bad" sounding tones or not. Trying to notch out too many possible bad target tones may cause you to miss targets you actually want. If I'm in a trashy area and I'm getting lots of distracting low iron tones, I'll horseshoe off to help me hear the better sounds. That's the reason they make and easy to reach button. In the beginning I encourage people to dig every tone, but as you dig and learn it's ok to make decisions not to waste time with what you're 99% sure is junk.
@@SeekandDetect Ah yes, okay! Thank you!! It's truly confusing sometimes as on the Vanquish, when I went out hunting a few days ago with Horseshoe iron-bias activated, and I hit a promising and very strong 21-26, I dug it up and it turned out to be an old iron nail, and when I tested it again the coil was totally silent on it. I haven't been able to find any info on this problem anywhere apart from your reply to my comment!! I'm based in Denmark, with permission to hunt on a field with actual Viking graves on it, which must boast the most promising chance of having something special hidden under the ground, and I'm still just turning up iron nails ;P There's a lot of metal in the ground that I've heard, how do I optimize my chances of finding a good target with the Vanquish? ^_^
I have not tried a legend so you know what I would probably recommend. I've found a ton of stuff with my 540. If you think you'll be in water I'd go legend or even an X-Terra pro. I have an X-Terra and it handles the salt water just fine.
Thanks for sharing, i am on the fence with this one. I live in AZ and would like a machine for small gold nuggets, coins and relics. But dont want to spend 1200.00 lol. Any machines around the 450-600 range? thank you sir.
I would look at either Vanquish 540, Nokta Legend or Equinox 600 or 700. Those are all very popular and do well. Roughly $375, $500, $600, $700 in that order. They're all waterproof except the 540, if that's important to you.
The 540 is a Great machine. We started our hobby with me swinging the 540 and my son with the 340. I later bought the Xterra and passed my 540 to my son. Thumbs up 540
Hi Florida sand handers, you prefer a single frequency machine than a multi frequency? Since you own both what is your opinion about those two detectors and which one do you prefer? I am looking forward for your answer.

I hear those work great. Nice long life….and if you forget to charge you can always stick some AAs in there.

👍🏼👍🏼😊
Preach it! 👏
You keep believing that.
This isn’t fully submersible…. I don’t think ford makes submarines in this analogy😂
They not only made tractors they made planes so---

Thanks for the video. 60 today and have been bought the very same detector. Looking forward to some fun times. Thanks again.
You’re going to have a great time!

Sounds like you have quite a collection there! Yes the thing I like most about the vanquish is the solid numbers😊

Have fun with that thing....and dig everything!
@@SeekandDetectcuz it’s not good :)) I don’t want to dig anything
@@theboy2483 if you don’t dig you will probably miss out on good stuff!!😁
@@SeekandDetect and that s not because of wrong detector ? I mean expensive detector know exactly if there is gold or bronze or something
Appreciate the video. Love my 440
Glad you enjoyed it, i have another vanquish video coming out this Saturday.

Wow buy a Deus or Nox now!! That is actually amazing I’m so Jelous! At least I have my Romans! 🤣
Ground balance is preset
Just ordered one. Of course my trucks are all old and i love them too. If it works is it a dumb idea.
No worries, you'll be fine! Good luck out there and happy diggin🙂

@@SeekandDetect Thank you, will check it out. So hard to pick one. lol
I tend to work on the tone it produces more than numbers. On a bright sunny day the screen is hard to make out.
I agree on using tones first. One thing I like about the vanquish is the matte finish screen. It doesn’t reflect as much as the equinox.
Just bought one thanks
I think you'll really love it
I have a 440 and it’s a beast for $$
