"I love Iron Maiden so much".
I believe that phrase has been uttered once or twice before
Vocalist Bruce Dickinson is also known as the "Air-Raid Siren".
Nicko McBrain introducing himself in his first Iron Maiden album. Great react! Up the Irons!
THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE - ULTIMATE BADASS IRON MAIDEN MASTERPIECE
The Sign of the Cross-Iron Maiden!!
This but the rock in Rio version!!
@@mmmmbye3687 agreed, better with Bruce in my opinion
Yes the Live in Rio version please!
Classic Maiden! Everything from drums to vocals are perfect! Underrated song by far!! "Piece of Mind" is one bad ass album!
Yeah, its really an epic album, with the exception of Quest for Fire maybe.
@@kili1985 true about "Quest for Fire", but, I think only the lyrics were bad, because they were inaccurate, but the musicianship was very good!
I totally agree. I'm still somewhat proud to be able to say that the first album I bought with my own money was Iron Maidens Piece of Mind when I was 10 or so. Definitely has a special place in my heart (The Trooper is still maybe my favourite song from Maiden).
kili1985 great song quest for fire!! Imo !
That song is never underrated. It's among the most popular song for those who know Iron Maiden.
I think you need to make a channel where you do nothing but react to Iron Maiden. Go in chronological order. Song by song, album by album. I will subcribe RIGHT NOW!
With all live versions of all the songs that have been played live
Hell yes!
Yeah right. Iron Maiden have a very very long list of songs and videos that are suitable for Preston to cover.
aaron ford maybe the first seven maybe eight if you count Live After Death. But skip albums nine through eleven. But that’s just me. I’m sure there are fans who started with those albums and think those are great albums. I probably just didn’t have the time for new music as life took up most of it.
@@brianthomas5260 I think skipping albums/songs is always a bad idea.
Seriously underrated song. This really should be a regular fixture in Maidens live set list.
No one can cover this, some songs should never be covered. This entire track is total hard rock perfection
React to iron maiden - caught somewhere in time
Agreed
@Chewbacca Flocka Flame - I'll add 'Sea of Madness' and 'Stranger in a Strange Land' to that. It's my favorite one of theirs too Chewie!
@@soterioncoil2163 isnt it awesome when your listening to the whole album and then Sea of Madness comes on...its like instant adrenaline straight to the veins!!
Doooo it!!!
@@jesusian7 - You know it! :)
I've loved iron maiden since 1983. This video made my day!
this song is based on the book "Where Eagles Dare" by Alistair MacLean which also was a movie starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood
@Timothy Houghton...I love Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I read it in school ions ago and our teacher brought in a record player and played Iron Maiden for the class. Excellent!
broadsword calling danny boy
You mean that they made movie and book based on this song.
My god, only my favourite movie. Jesus...I had no idea they made a song about it 😮
You've gotta react to Iron Maiden Caught Somewhere in Time my man! 🤟🤟
all the video long i was wating your reaction on the last "daaaaaaaare" hahaha amazing
Iron Maiden - The Flight of Icarus, is the way to go bro. Keep it up
Iron Maiden- The Talisman (live En Vivo version)
I've been waiting forever to see a reaction channel feature this one. It's legitimately the best live performance I've ever seen from Bruce.
All i have is.... yes.
Great reaction as always, wanna say thank you for these reactions. Watching you react to what I grew up with is awesome, it's like hearing them for the first time all over again. Keep up the great work, much love and respect!!
Ron Cardenas I feel the same, man!
@@lhdickinson agreed, nice to see this generation appreciate where it all started.!.
Ron Cardenas Yeah man, I never get tired of watching these reactions of songs I knew when I was about 14 y.o.
@@lhdickinson nice, this came out when I was in high school. Great memories
Ron Cardenas When it came out I was only 8 but it was only by the age of 14 that I got in touch with it.
Another ww2 history lesson. This whole album, Piece of Mind, is fire..... I suggest:
Revelations
Die with your boots on
And:
The Iron Maiden
Running free (live after death)
And:
The prisoner
22 acacia avenue
Children of the damned
For those wondering...the song is in reference to the Allied forces Airborne assault of the Schloss Adler ( Hohenwerfen Castle ) nicknamed The Eagles Nest. Situated high in the Bavarian Alps above the town of Werfen, the castle was used by the German High Command as a rest retreat for high ranking officers. There was also a movie of the same name " Where Eagles Dare " featuring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. The movie does take its leave with the story in a lot of ways BUT it is BASED on the same story. The movie is WELL WORTH the watching. As usual nice reaction, and great song choice. :)
This song really shows their musicianship and songwriting abilities from wayyyy back!!! What a hair raiser of a song!
Flash Of The Blade is an old school Maiden song that gets overlooked despite the decent cover that Avenged Sevenfold did. If you liked this one for it's "pumping yourself up to jump out a plane" vibe, check this newer one out.
Love that song, listen to it almost everyday on my way to work.
Yes! And some of this song reminds me of flash of the blade
Iron Maiden - When the Wild Wind Blows. The story is amazing. Two old people watch tv and on the news they say that the world is coming to an end, so the old people poisoned themselves because they believed it. Just check it out in a video🤘🏼
I love how much you love Iron Maiden!
Now here's a man who knows how to enjoy his metal. Let's rock!!
I remember there was a concern when they changed drummer as the last one was amazing, fears were lost as soon as this intro kicked in!
Classic era Maiden. There was no metal band better!!!! 🤘🏼
Except for Judas Priest...
@@mrsleep0000 judas is more rock in 80s
Judas priest is the face of 80s rock n roll brotha hell yeah.
@@mrsleep0000 judas priest is a lamer version of Iron Maiden.
@@mrsleep0000
Nahhhhh...
I am glad that people are reacting to MUSIC, and not garbage that the main stream media puts out. This is one of the finest songs about history, that Iron Maiden has put out
Flawless VICTORY!
You just gotta react to the rest of this album, truly a gem in metal history and my favorite maiden album. The drummer that is most famous in iron maiden, nicko mcbrain, this was his first album and it is a masterpiece
In my opinion Bruce's voice is at its absolute best in Piece of Mind
It s a masterpiece of a album
Was the s the first concert I went to and I was hooked for life.
I got my tickets for the tour in September. Can't wait! Up the Irons!
This is why you're better than other reactionary people....
The First Iron Maiden song I ever heard at my uncle's house on a good old vinyl record! It was magical, been a fan ever since!
Back when I used to listen to this, I'd have a head full of that good Humboldt. All I would do is lay back and let my mind make a picture of the music. This was some great music back in the day! Still some great music! Peace to you and yours Preston!
Iron maiden's "prisoner" is awesome, also, check out "can I play with madness" and"run to the hills"
You'd be going crazy if you saw them perform this live?. Well my friend, this song is on their setlist for the first time in over 30 years on their Legacy of the Beast tour 18/19 that comes to the States in July. I got my tickets to see them in Buffalo in August. Cannot wait, going tp be amazing, like always. Will be my 4th Maiden show, first since 2001. First time I saw them was in 88 for the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son tour. Up the Irons!
I believe the word you're looking for to describe Bruce's voice is operatic!
It is time for :
Iron Maiden - - - - - > PHANTOM of the OPERA
Piece of Mind is just “Flawless Victory” throughout it.
“To Tame a Land” needs to be next! Changes galore bruh!
To tame a land is 1 of 2 songs that keep piece of mind from being perfection. The other, quest for fire
We love iron maiden too 😂
More please 😬
One of the first concerts I ever attended.... Blew me away!
Next from them;
Alexander the great
Ghost of the navigator
Having grown up in the golden age of metal (mid-late 80s) it is so awesome seeing black folks enjoy metal. Because black in the 80s all my black meathead friends were treated as outcasts worse than the white rap fans (me) of the same time period.
P.S. Iron Maiden throws a hell of a show, seen them a dozen or more times back in my youth.
i too love iron maiden so much. each song is a journey.
The legends. Iron maiden. Up the irons ☝
Nico McBrains first album with Maiden
Iron Maiden - no prayer for the dying 🤘🏼
rick pedroza yep little to no reactions to this song but it’s always on my play list. 🔥🔥🔥
The drums in this song are no joke, man. Have loved this song from the first day I heard it...when I brought the cassette tape home from the record store the week it came out! Saw them on that tour and that was my first concert. They opened with this song.
Love your Iron Maiden reaction videos!
Amazing song, great transitions & Bruce's voice is flawless even today
great song, great reaction, try Paschendale from The Dance of Death album, I think you will love it Preston and When the Wild Wind Blows especially the live version from the EN VIVO dvd. Iron Maiden the greatest metal band of all time
IRON MAIDEN:
RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER
ALEXANDER THE GREAT
DANCE OF DEATH
GHOST OF THE NAVIGATOR
SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON
This song was a tribute to the movie of the same name released in 1968. Steve Harris (the bass player) had a penchant for making songs after movies and books.
I love this song, and I love playing it on guitar... it's one of my warmup songs. Keep going with Maiden, brother.
One of my all time favorite Maiden songs!
Best song of the album, that intro is totally killer
Please react to The Piper Never Dies by Edguy, absolutely masterpiece
The "Piece of mind" album was Nickos introduction to the fans. In the later Iron Maiden documentary "The early years", Nicko said that he did not want to let the fans down, considering what Clive had given them. It already was a challenge for the fans to accept a new drummer ("a new face"), so he wanted to give his very best right from the start.
And: He did not disappont the fans, did he not?
An incredible piece of drumming. And they used to start their shows with that song!
The song is based on the movie "Where Eeagles Dare", which is about the Second World War and an allied special forces unit which had to enter a german military stronghold in the Bavarian Alps.
The hard rhythmic drums beat triplets (toms, bass drum) can be compared to the noise of the machine guns and the german FLAK (anti-plane guns) on the war scene (storyline).
After the initial drum solo (when the rest of the band starts), Nicko sometimes played about 3 kicks on his bass drum, between the single or double beats on a tom. You do not always hear it, but it decently supports the rhythm of the band.
An incredible introduction of Nicko to the fans. Later, songs like "Gates of tomorrow" and "Face in the sand" (album: "Dance of death") would be likewise demanding for him.
Thumbs up!
Another one based on a book, (Alastair MacLean 1967)that ended up being a movie, (1968 w/Sir Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood).
A crack team of Allied soldiers stages a daring rescue during World War II. A U.S. general is being held captive in an imposing castle fort, high in the Bavarian Alps.
You would have fit right in with me and my friends back in the day...we used to get stoned, drink beer and listen to great albums by great bands and composers... Pointing out details in the mix and music, getting exposure to music we'd never heard before, it was life-changing. Better than any party you could possibly go to we used to practically piss ourselves with laughter. Man, I miss those days but ever thankful for them. Laughs, music, and freedom.
Man, Dance of Death En Vivo!
Dude... Iron Maiden's "22 Acacia Avenue"
Either the album version or the Live (Hammersmith) version. Better than the last 15 by them that you have done. You're missing out.
100% this. Hammersmith version as well.
Iron Maiden - Seventh son of a Seventh son.
Not only a masterpiece, but also their masterpiece.
This song is about an Allied mission during WW2 where American and British Commandos secretly dropped into Germany to take a Nazi Command stronghold called the ‘Eagles Lair’. They did make a movie also about it, of course called ‘Where Eagles Dare’. Iron Maiden found the entire essence of that dire hour and essential raid and make a legendary song about it! It’s more than music, it’s a tribute to a very few brave fools that gave everything for so many. Just awesome…
" I wanna see someone cover this"
Tyr - Where Eagles Dare.
You're welcome homie
Yes, the Tyr version is great!
Agreed!
Badlands by Metal Church
When I first seen Iron Maiden in Toronto in 1983 it was the World Piece Tour and this was the first song they open up with, tell you bro, seeing 14000 people headbang in unison is in experience the good old days of real metal,
..oh, ..holy shit... this was the the years during the eightees when bruce´s voices cuting like a knife.....
There ain't nobody can cover "Where Eagles Dare"!!! 😉😉😉
Matt Mulkey I wouldn’t say that if I didn’t listen to “TYR” cover this 😉
It was also done by The Misfits. Glenn Danzig in his glory days. One of my personal favorites...The Misfits were a huge influence on Metallica especially since they covered several Misfits songs such as Last Caress, Green Hell, and (the album art tattooed on my back) Die Die My Darling. I was thinking you should give a listen to KROKUS SCREAMING IN THE NIGHT...I have tons of them to keep you on your toes. Oh and try hearing Survive, Black Masks and Gasoline, A Life Less Frightening by Rise Against. SHIT LIST by L7, THE HUNGER by the Distillers, Slayer Dead Skin Mask, Black Sabbath Sweet Leaf, Led Zeppelin Custard Pie and Cashmere, This Is The Time by Nothing More & cant forget the almighty Pantera A New Level, Primal Concrete Sledge, Fucking Hostile, Piss, and the second most beautiful song by them Hollow

IRON MAIDEN - FLIGHT OF ICARUS !!!!!!!!!
Agreed100%!!!
irom maiden=alexander the great.....way under-rated

one of their greatest songs ever! imo
Where Eagles Dare is about a WW2 raid on a mountain top fortress. They even made a movie back in the day called, "Where Eagle Dare". Awesome movie too!
Preston you are me... 35 years ago. I remember pressing play on my Walkman on Christmas ‘84. The very same reactions.
Ne Obliviscaris- And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope
He will love NeO, seriously
It's gotta be!
I would recommend Eyrie or Painters of the Tempest part 2: Triptych Lux instead of Plague Flowers.
Courtney Smith I think this is a good song to be introduced to. Part 2 is kinda long to introduce someone
Great react. "Highway star" of Deep Purple
Wasted Sunsets
CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN TIME!!!!!
I used to relax on some Iron Maiden. I remember relaxing to the Dance of Death album. It gave me such a good feeling too.
Hi, awesome reaction! I love Iron Maiden and I am really glad that You reacting to them, means a lot.
I really recommend You to listen “The evil that men do” Rock in rio version.
In fact You should watch the whole concert, it is just awesome, great and... I don’t... just... perfect.
I wish You luck and fortune on your metal way
Up The Irons!
niiice reaction man!! up the irons!!!! listen to Sabaton - "night witches" if you wanna get your socks knocked off
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!!! For the love of what’s good!!!!!
YES!!! Side 1 Song 1 early 80s Maiden - That's ALL YOU NEED!!! Kick ass Maiden riffs and drumming inspired by the killer flick Where Eagles Dare.

Blackened-Metallica
The Gears-Dethklok
No One Survives-Nekrogoblikon
Please do some of Iron Maidens newer stuff, Where The Wild Wind Blows or No More Lies..
Please, no.
I agree. I think he would like their newer stuff. He liked Blood Brothers
Hey, 2 no's already! All the more reason to do them Preston! Anyway can do the ones everyone likes, we need your judgment on these 😁
Nope. That would be unnecessary. For Maiden the older the better.
YOU DID IT! I’m so happy. One of my favorite songs of all time.
Dude I wish I could relive my first time hearing Iron Maiden!! You have me reliving it all over again thru your eyes and ears. I spent many of hours in my youth listening to Iron Maiden drinking "40oz Old E" trying to dissect the lyrics and enjoying the music. Mind expanding lyrics with soul expanding music!! Up The Irons!!!
Bruce Dickinson's voice is one of the best there is; it would be difficult for someone to cover; very few drummers play like Iron Maiden's
React to sucidal tendencies - you can't bring me down
The Unedited version please.
you need to go see them this summer on their tour. they're the greatest live rock band ever
This tune is about the movie they made with Clint Eastwood, if you actually listen to the lyrics. This entire album is legendary. This tour was the first I ever saw from Maiden, never forget it, I paid 12 dollars for my ticket, insane. Going this summer I paid $150.
Preston you have to listen to Soundgarden - Spoonman!! 👍👍
Blackened
Dyers eve

Just a bullet away

Full of energy!
Finally! Another Maiden song 🤘🏼. Hope to see more of this soon!.
Do number of the beast by iron maiden, there most recognised song
megadeth hangar 18 please do it, nice video btw
Agreed. Top 10 metal classic. The solos are pure 🔥
The continuous drum pattern is meant to mimic the machine gun on a WWII fighter plane. The whole song is about an air battle. Amazing.
I like the that you detect the details in the songs and not just the obvious stuff like a solo, a scream or a drum roll.
