All vehicles build up odors from regular use. There are the usual spills from food and beverages which often fall into difficult to reach areas. Tobacco fumes can penetrate every crack and crevice, and smoke residue will cling to the ceiling and other interior surfaces. Pet and body odors can also cause seats and carpets to smell.
How can you effectively remove these odors from cars and other vehicles? The OdorFree ozone generator is the solution. The OdorFree is an extremely effective car odor eliminator because the ozone (O3) attacks odors at their source. As ozone fills the interior it immediately begins to oxidize tobacco odors, pet odors, food odors and musty smells that cling to surfaces, and even flows into air vents, cracks and crevices.
Solution: To remove car odor, an OdorFree car ozone machine is placed on the seat after the vehicles interior has been cleaned (Note: if the seats and carpet have been recently shampooed, it is best to wait until they are dry before treatment). Run an extension cord through the window and leave it open a few inches. Set the dial on the OdorFree car odor remover for 30 minutes to several hours. The treatment time depends on such things as the size of the vehicle, how long it was smoked in, or how deeply entrenched the odors. The windows and doors are closed, except it will be necessary to leave one window open a few inches during treatment, providing a supply of oxygen that creates more ozone (O3). Car odor removal is easy as the interior is filled with ozone and odors are eliminated.
Note: To thoroughly remove cigarette smoke from car as well as other odors that may have penetrated the air-conditioning system, turn on the vehicle fan and select the “re-circulate” option 15 minutes to one hour before the end of the treatment. Upon returning to the vehicle, open the windows to ventilate the interior. The O3 creates a fresh smell that dissipates within an hour.
You don’t need to mask vehicle odors with so-called car odor eliminator air fresheners. The vehicle will smell fresh and be free of smells with the OdorFree treatment for car odor removal.
Yep that’s what I do, especially after having my car worked on. Car smells so fresh and clean the next day.

Wipe down all the interior surfaces with multi surface detailer. Shampoo or at least carpet fresh the carpets. Change the cabin air filter.
After using the generator?
I don’t think that’s necessary. Just air out. Not sure about the air filter, but most the space is fine.

I do those steps before using ozone. To remove any oils etc from the smoking.
On the F150 turn off a/c and reserc and spray Lysol in the passenger cowel side of your truck has a musky smell after rain storms.
Any luck getting that smell away. I been trying to get rid of the smell.
Is it necessary to leave the window open 2 inches? Why don’t you want to shut it?

No, just open enough not to crush the cord..
The ozone generator circulates normal air "o2", and turns it into "o3" I highly reactive from of oxygen. If it circulates too much o3, it can form nitric acid.
