  • If you’re a saddle hunter, the Ultimate One Stick from Eastern Woods Outdoors (www.doublesteps.com) is the cream of the crop. Fully built and customized to your need, the EWO Ultimate One Stick features lightweight tubing, Amsteel cam cleat attachment, multi step aider and the angled Ultimate Platform. In this video I go over the details of the stick. I do NOT do a one-sticking demonstration; that will come later. I’ll leave links below to Eastern Woods Outdoors as well as Amazon for the products used here. I’d recommend buying as much as you can from DanO at EWO but if products are sold out, you might want to try Amazon as well.
    Thanks for watching!

I do the one stick climbing method also. I rather have a platform way More comfortable. I just bought framed backpack last winter it's huge game changer. I don't feel the strain on my back any more, plus can I can quarter out a deer. I was very ignorent how important a framed backpack is for moble hunting.

3d genesis makes these little plastic hooks you put on your tether and you can grab ahold of those instead of huging the tree while your ascending. You should really grab a set. To be such a little cheap thing they make a huge difference. Think they're called tether aiders or aider hooks or something along those lines. Also they make a tiny clip you put on the edge of the platform that pops on securely and when you set your stick, you pop the hang over amsteel into it and when you go to reach for the loop, you can just grab it right then and there and pull it loose. Another tiny simple cheap piece of hard plastic that makes a huge difference.

What are guys doing to quiet down the cam cleat when you pull the rope out of it? It’s kind of a loud click.

So I took it apart and put the smallest possible dab of hot melt glue where the spring “L” arm contacts the base. Very small dab. Not enough to prevent the cleat from closing fully though. But honestly you can manipulate it so the cleat doesn’t slam shut. It’s not as loud as you might think.
