Thanks for posting. I really struggled with this installation on my JK because the hardware supplied was all a little short and some of the nuts needed to be tapped out. My suggestion- go to the hardware store and buy bolts that are about 20 mm longer than supplied with the top and the installation will go fine. Looks like it's a lot easier on the JL. Now, I really love the top, real easy to open and close, no water leaks, very little wind noise, even at highway speeds.
I watched Brit install it and went out and did it under 30 minutes by myself. The thing that took the most time was trying to get the little cable dog leg in with my big fingers, Love the top!
You and TFL totally convinced me to buy a JL Rubicon! I am in LOVE!! Mine is Mojito! I want to give him/her/it a name!! Also have to sell my original 2004 TJ Rubicon :( I live in Golden!!! Work at the Fed Center! Can’t wait to see you guys in the trails!!
Received my sunrider for my JLU last night and installed it already. Bestop doesn’t have the little nut on the one step you showed. It just screws in like the front bolt does. Which is nice to not have to mess with. Also the z clip was super easy but lining up to two smaller bolts in those two holes was a challenge. anyway. Great video. Love your guys videos and so far this thing is my favorite add on to my Jeep ✌🏻👍🏻

My 2015 JKU came with the 4x4 BODY ARMOR RACK, it's bittersweet, I love the rack but totally a pain if you want to run naked, also my hard top is color matched, white on white, hmmmm..still might be a cool option, I like it! I ordered mine the day you released the video and 2 days ago Best Top cancelled my order with no explanation so I called and all I got was “not sure why it was cancelled but you can reorder it”. Doesn’t give me a lot of confidence in the company
Kevin Williams I didn’t get the name of the person I spoke to. He put me on hold for quite awhile and then just said he didn’t know why it cancelled but I could reorder, at that point I was so upset as this was my Christmas present I just said forget it.

From what he said, it sounds like their system glitched and did exactly as you said (it cancelled a small percentage of recent orders). But he also let me know that they’ve fixed the issue and the affected orders haven’t actually been cancelled. Try giving them another call when you get a moment just to verify your info with them, and they should be able to ship your order out to you! If you have any other issues, definitely let me know and I’ll do what I can to help you out!
them only tricky part for me was getting the wire attached. the actual wire does not exactly match the directions. Once I figured out how it works it wasn't too bad, but bestop should update their directions to match the top. thanks for your help. So when Brittney did it I thought I should get back at it and just get it done.
Off topic, but thought I would let you know that our Gorilla glass windshield has a part # and is scheduled to be installed in January. Ours is a month old and is cracked from the right A pillar to the steering wheel. You guys helped us find it, and from what I have been reading we did the right thing ordering one. Enjoy the holiday! Maybe you could check at your end with a Safelite or a big name, my guy is just a mom and pop operation. Like you, I just want my windshield fixed. You guys are great together.
Hey Brittany and Kev. I have a Sunrider question. I installed my JL Sunrider a couple days ago, and was curious about thoseVelcro® tie down straps. So I called Bestop tech support and questioned them about the strap usage. I asked if they should be used when traveling at highway speed (60-70mph) with the Sunrider open. Tech support said not to have the top open at highway speed. Holy maracas, Batman. That's why I purchased the Sunrider! Have you had any issues with the Sunrider open at highway speed, do you open the Sunrider at highway speed? I think if Bestop feels it shouldn't be open at 60-70mph, they should state it on their website and literature. What's your experience? Thanks.

Really wanting to pull the trigger on the sunrider, just had couple of questions, have you been on interstate, or at high speeds 55-70mph with sunrider open? If so how does it do? I would assume that there is a lot of noise/wind at higher speeds with open. Is it really worth the money? I have the sunrider on my 2014 jk rubicon. Purchased it in October before sale at full price. I have been having a lot of problems with water leaks. Enough so I have been parking it inside the garage. Very disappointing.
No I have not. I have emailed them about the sale price and they told me that the jk was not on sale. We had a lot of rain a few weeks ago. I tested the top by pouring water on door Seams and it flooded the floor. I have since took my channel lock pliers and torqued the spammer bolts very tight. It helped it some just a small drip know.

Just watched a video where the guy took a couple hours doing this and got confused while doing it. then complained that it was louder then having the freedom tops in .....i swear some people are so dumb. Its a soft top its going to be louder. Specially when its a soft top on a vehicle shaped like a box.

For a JL four-door, if you remove the hardtop would you normally leave the sunrider in place or would you have to take it off as well?

Great video, not a fan of how high it sits up on the top when open wish it laid more flat.
How much louder is it than the hard top panels? I would love to have something easier to open on my hard top sport JL.
Doug Janeway They’re just slightly louder in my opinion when it comes to wind noise. To me the difference wasn’t very noticeable.
