Thanks for the video. Glad to hear the Sunrider is working for you. I too have had no issues with leakage around my Gladiator hardtop here in Louisiana where it does rain a quite a bit. My wife didn't have any with her JK hardtop here either.
Thanks for this great review. I already have my Bestop Sunrider in my garage, Z clips already installed and ready to go on my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe. Looking forward to using it, although it might not blend in as well as my Wrangler is white with a white hardtop.
Nice top for you guys in that part of the country.Yes the $ for the mods adds up quick even though you get good deals or buy used on the forums.Ill got the twill soft top on my JK and it is a nice fabric.
The current Bestop Sunrider does not use the Z-clips. They have a eye ring instead, and a bolt and nut, with locktite provided, to hold the end of that wire.
Great video, yes all the add-ons are pricey and even if you shop around you still pay for quality. I learned my lesson though with my first truck buying the lower end model and planning on "upgrading" everything and when I bought my jeep I went for everything I wanted out of the gate just because time and expense and shopping around would end up being more than I wanted to spend and at the end of the day, the value of the truck is still that of the lower end model.
I literally just put one on my 21 Gladiator yesterday! I did notice some sort of POPPING sound when it was in the CLOSED POSITION behind a semi, when not behind a semi, and regular traffic no issues. also the cross winds were terrible yesterday afternoon, between St.Louis and Metropolis. Only had it a few hundred miles to date, so far pretty sweet!
I got one for my Gladiator and love it! The only thing that is a negative , to me, is the road noise. I knew there would be some added noise, not wind noise, but road noise, I just didn't realize how much! I'm taking a trip to Florida next week, and I'm going to take my Sunrider off and take it with me and re-install it once I get to my destination! I just think that 2200 miles, round trip, would be unbearable with the road noise on the Interstate ! Other than that one thing, I absolutely LOVE this top!
@@luiggi0102 What did the spacers do for you? I have this on my Gladiator. Also, can you pull the rear hardtop off and keep this on or does it all have to come off?
I have the Sunrider too, it’s good but If you want to put back the front panels in winter in much more fun way, try to see videos Panorama Jeep ATX , FYI
They must have revised the Z clips, mine came with little eyelets on the ends of the cable and some screw together pins to capture it in that hole where the Z clip would go. I'm getting the wind noise through the divot where the freedom panels were, glad to hear that that goes away!
I had the Webasto Black Forest Throwback on my 2017 JKU and loved it. But it leaked, but that is Jeep life and the small leaks were ok considering I used the top everyday almost. They don't make a JL/JT version so I will be going with the Bestop this Spring. I prefer hardtop, my JKU had the roof rack bolted through the hardtop so there was no taking it off. I also want to be able to open this top on-the-fly at stop lights and such. I love the versatility of this type of top.
Just installed mine yesterday. Looks great. A little more wind noise and hopefully it will resolve as yours did. And those z-clips. What a pain. Funny none of the installation videos show that part!!
I ordered one when i heard about the $200 rebate. Also got a discount from NorthRidge. I've had it on for two days now and love it. You turned in a flease early? How did that workout?
@@carlosa7324 Thanks for the reply. After reading about the “bump” it causes at the top, I decided to remove mine and go with the Mopar JK buckle wrap-around grab handles. It worked perfectly.
I explained in the video that our climate here isn't very good for the full soft top. It requires more effort, and we never get a chance to keep it down for very long. Hard top works best, but this Sunrider still allows quick and instant fresh air for the rare sunny days.
@@4-LOW yikes, really looking forward to buying one, but it seems like it will make the hard top removal a very lengthy process then! thanks for the reply anyway :D
Dont talk about water problems lol, my jeep ate the water pump today 🤬lol , antifreeze everywhere , tow truck, and the expectation of a big bill lol...luckily the temp didn’t go past the 3/4 mark before i got to a parking lot to wait for tow truck,, sheew it was a close one..
Truck is doing amazing. The water dripping in when you open the door is just a product of having a convertible top. But with the doors closed they did do a better job directing the rain water out of the channels I think. So far I'm very happy.

So way back in 2017 I put one of these Sunriders on my 2016 Wrangler... been there for over 100K miles with no issues. Love this thing!!
Great to hear. I'm getting ready to do an install tomorrow on my 2018 JK.

Had mine all last summer on a JL, no leaks. Not much more road noise than the freedom told. Took it off for winter, will put back on around April.
How’s the removal? Just take out the bolts and the side rails?
Great review thanks! I am going to get one for my Gladiator.

I did the same trip a week after I got my gladiator from nyc to fl. I installed spacers (2.5mm all around) and maaaan ! What a difference in the ride

I've got the twill on my 18 jlu and it's absolutely leak free and I'm in Houston... FYI it rains more here than Seattle....
Thank you for your video! Going to install my Sunrider top today. 🤞 Hopefully no issues.
Hey man, great video. I'm from north eastern Kentucky.
I saw a jeep in Southern Ohio (where I live now) with the exact same name.

The new soft tops are amazing. It's truly a 4 season top.

you can pop the bestop sticker off the rain gutter for a more slick look
Bestop Sunrider is a complete winner on my JTR!
Thank you so much. I am going to buy one. Really appreciate your help. Be Well! 🚙🚙 Avon Lady Jane...

Appreciate the solid review. New sub from ky
Would the standard material match better in your opinion 🤔
I just picked up one used on FB Marketplace for $550 TWILL it was LIKE NEW TOO!
Can you use the standard Mopar grab handles with the Sunrider or do you have to purchase handles similar to what we use on JK's with the velcro wraps?
I installed mine over the Mopar gran handles. Slight angle but it has not rained where I live. Might take them off if it becomes a problem.

How is it with keeping heat out in the summer?
Why not just get the factory soft top? Same ease of use and leak free.

I wanted the hard tops for winter. We go to mountains a lot. I am to lazy to swap out the full tops, soft to hard.
I prefer the hard top so someone can’t break into my jeep as easily. This is the best of both worlds.
after installing the sunrider, are you still able to remove the hard top completely when needed ? or is that an issue?
Sunrider has to come off first because it uses two bolts into the Sport Bar overhead.

Montato ieri sul mio Gladiator 80º😀👍
Kentucky Rain by Elvis.
Anyone have the Mopar Sunrider for Hardtop?? I just got a Willys and it came this top but it’s by Mopar.
It's the exact same one. They build it for Mopar. Only the branding/badging is different on these two versions of the same Sunrider.
Where did you get your splash guards?
I have the full set of Mopar splash guards, but, recently I changed the front to RokBlokz to get a little more coverage.

hows the truck doing? any fix for where the water drips when opening the front doors?

Hope you are not using the US Flag as a seat cover.
Never add up mods, at least not while your wife is around.
🤣😂🤣
Can’t take it with you
Nope, but "if Momma' ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"
Take the back off and do a video please
