Can’t understand why anyone would give this easy to install video a thumbs down? They must not own a Jeep or a sunrider 🤣 great easy to follow your video- I’m a 60 year old woman and did this install alone and it was easy to do while I took each step following alone with this video with my phone as I did my install. Thank you thank you! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the kudos, Kammy!
I will tell you why a thumbs down, because I just bought one and these instructions are out of date. There is a screw and nut that hold the back of the top to the door rails now and this video is using the old methods. I can understand someone leaving an out of date video but not the seller of the product. Update this Bestop!!!
This is a great resource to pair with the instruction manual. I had this installed myself in under an hour and mostly due to the detailed video. Thank you- enjoying my new top!!
Great to hear!
Those z clips are a pain in the ASS, but - this video helped a ton, and once i gave them a yank and pulled them out a bit further it got easier. 1st one took me 15 minutes, 2nd took me 2 minutes - ty again, great video!
The best invention since bacon! Had one on my JK's and now on my JTR. Never leaks, easy to use and quality built. I highly recommend this product ...................G
Thanks for posting this. You made it look so much easier attaching the Z clips before installing it. Can’t wait to install mine
No problem 👍
where's the part where you swear at that z-clip?
Thanks for the video. They got rid of the z clips, but the replacements are tricky too. Got mine installed in about an hour solo
Awesome! I'll get it for my new Jeep Wrangler! Thanks a lot for the explanation.🙂🤙
Thanks for the video. I was a little bit concerned on the installation but this video removed my fears. I am waiting for the Sunrider Black Twill to be delivered day after tomorrow and looking forward to install it on my new 2021 Gladiator Mohave. I also have the Bestop EZ-Fold Tonneau in Black Twill so the Sunrider will be a perfect match.
Installed it yesterday. The Z clips were tricky and took the longest time. The rest was very quick. The Jeep torque wrench set that came with the Gladiator was the only tool required.
Excellent instructions. I just ordered one. Thanks for the video.
Any harm in removing in the Fall, placing freedom panels back on for the cold months and installing again in the summer?
I wouldn't think so.
The product has been updated to eliminate the Z clip. It would be beneficial to have an updated video to reflect the product change.
Yes! I’m in total agreement!
We are supposed to get ours delivered today. Hope the z clip isn't there. If not, you're correct, the video needs an update.
New top arrived. No Z clip, instead it is an eye clip with a couple of barrel bolts. But, install videos on their website aren't working. 404 error link.
Looks easy enough...I want one!
Z-clip was easy and that’s because I had the door rails installed before I put the top on.
Why is my hinge hitting the door rail! I’ve listened everything and reattached. Still does it!
Do u have to remove the sunrider to take off your hard top ? Thanks
For what I just spent you would expect their install video to be updated. It isn’t. No more z clips. Now it is small threaded screws with crappy written instructions and no video.
The new ones do not have the Z clip, They need to update the video and to show how difficult it is to install!!! extremely frustrating for what this thing cost!!
My question is, is there a way to fasten the top while it open so it doesn’t bounce around in the wind?
What cleaner(s) is recommended to clean the seals after removing the Freedom Top?
You can use rubbing alcohol
Can you use this with a sunshade? Alien, spiderweb, etc. Thanks
What keeps the sunrider from flopping back and forth when the it's deployed? The OEM soft top has velcro straps to prevent the top from flopping around when just the front part is pushed back.
You get a velcro strap for the Sunrider for that same purpose.
@bestop is there going to be a retractable sunshade for the JL?
Thanks Lee!
So the one for the JL also fits the Gladiator ?
That is correct.
I just installed my Sunrider on a 21 Gladiator. The silver pivot on the driver’s side hinge seems to brush the inside of the side rail when I pull the top down into position. The clamp looks to be 1/8” left of center when I engage it. The passenger side clamp is almost dead on center of the receiver. All the gaps look great, everything appears correct. Haven’t gone through a car was yet, so I can’t attest to water sealing issues. Should I be concerned?
I’m having the exact same thing happen! It’s unfortunate that Besttop hasn’t replied.
The part about the zclips is better explained in the written material
Having trouble with the two 20 mm bolts on drivers side ..can't get them to thread into door rail nuts worked okay on passenger side ... suggestions appreciated
Question is 3 months old. You get it figured out? All of our bolt issues were just a matter of alignment. As soon as they were aligned, easy-breezy.
Just received one and was going to install today for wife, same problem except mine is on passenger side, will not thread without crossing. Will be contacting Bestop tomorrow
What is the info on some people claiming the bolts are to short!!???
I am not willing to search for new bolts since I paid $900 for this sunrider top...mine is coming in this week!
With the Sunrider for Hardtop open, how fast can ya go (appears to have no securing mechanism)? I really want one of these...
The Sunrider for Hardtop comes with tie down straps that wrap around the side rails when its folded back. As for how fast you can go, go the posted speed limit.
@@BestopTeam "...go the posted speed limit."
*wink wink
😅Video is out of date and doesn't match the instructions and hardware. Someone had one job to do.
