This was a little spur of the moment thing since my schedule changed and I'll be away from the computer for most of the week, but hey, Shikanoko is definitely worth talking about even if just briefly. Anyway, hope you still enjoy it. Oh yeah, there will still be a proper review after we have some more Nokotan to enjoy.
I am a little worried because I didn't expect Torako Koshi to just be like a nice girl, like she was a delinquent but she seems like a nice person now. I actually didn't find myself enjoying her getting made fun of and getting embarassed, it was just like harassment to me and the deer girl being goofy wasn't enough to make me feel like it wasn't just cruel. During the first episode I felt myself relating to Koshi and just feeling bad for her, more so than I thought it was funny.
I've been saying it all along. This isn't anything close to Nichijou, it's more like D-Frag, Gabriel Dropout, Sabagebu, etc. Still pretty funny and should be a great watch, but let's drop comparing it to Nichijou just because there's a deer in Nichijou for 1 scene.
People aren't comparing it to nichijou because of the deer, it's because the trailer gives the same impression of short chaotic events piled on-top of one one an other in a never ending barrage and the style of humour is very similar, being stupidly over the top and non sensical. Hence why I also mentioned Danshi koukousei that fall into the same category of anime as nichijou.
@@addedcheese I wasn't referring to you specifically. But every comment about this anime that compares it to Nichijou is the same thing: "the deer from Nichijou is back for revenge lols" But even from the very first trailer, it's obvious that this isn't anything like Nichijou. My first thought was D-Frag, delinquent forced to join club by a weirdo and ends up being the tsukkomi to a group of boke. Nichijou doesn't have that Manzai comedy dynamic at all.
@@willpina and there is a good reason for that. The average consumer does not give a flying toss about the themes of styles of comedy used so long as it makes them laugh and it's natural for the human mind to draw a connection to something that is vaguely similar and has done the same in the past, hence Nichijou.
To be generous, the fact there's a deer scene in Nichijou does not help matters. Although if there were a more apt comparison, Azumanga Daioh would be closer.
My favourite bit is they bring back a gag twice. The hyenas and vultures come back later in the episode and I was laughing when I noticed it.
We just have recently have muzan entrance but already been defeated with Deer Entrance. And it breaks the 4th wall very early in the show.

Absolutely based video dad
I suspect it's gonna get more insane the further along it goes, like Noucome did. That said, I did get some Aho-girl vibes from it too.
