if Petra got the double break in the first set, she would have won the match I think. It's crazy how a few points can dictate the whole match
I think I just got goosebumps. Wish it had gone three, and if Petra had won it, I'd've probably been happier. But no matter. Anastasia is clearly a big talent who suddenly looks bigger than the likes of Fernandez or Raducanu. Love to see her play Noskova, and have a feeling we will get that chance soon enough. Sorry, Petra. You are still the most amazingly unique lady on the tour -- fit, beautiful and with a VERY underrated game. Cannot wait to see you play again soon. These WTA athletes are such a joy to watch! Thank you for the highlights and thank you for the result-neutral thumbnails. Fans all over the world thank you especially for that!
Both usually better on clay so on hardcourts indoors anything was possible but seemingly Petra left everything against Tauson barely running after the balls today and Potapova is one fastest players in top 100 so wouldn't work for Petra and Potapova was the best player of this tour her only bad match was the first one.

Very happy that this beautiful Russian player won this tournament and hopefully many more. How interesting and excellent it would have been if Samsonova had also won in Abu Dhabi. As I said before, I have always liked the Russian players very much and all for the great and remembered Maria Sharapova. 😍💪🏻🎾🇷🇺🇨🇴

Potapova reminds me a lot of Zvonareva, she too didn't have the biggest weapons but boy she knew how to plug away till the end. Khachanov is also the same way, must be a Russian thing.

It's Martic, she's got limits, she is a good player but never been a champion material.
She does not have great stamina. Her stamina level is nothing impressive. Martic is also 32 years old while Potapova is 21 years old.

Martic was worn out in the second set already. Even if she won the first set, I highly doubt that she is able to win the match by playing three sets. Just pay attention to Martic’s serves and movement in the second set. She clearly used up her energy already while Potapova still seem fresh.
A pity it was a disappointing final not like the brilliant one from two years ago between allison risk and Jacqueline Christian. It probably would've been a Better match if it had been sakkari against potapova but unfortunately sakkari has this tendency to lose a lot of semi finals.

Yeah, I really hope to see both of them more. Especially Potapova who I am partial to. Raducanu is the focus all the time and she's not winning. Not to say she is not good but these girls. Kostyuk, Yastremska, the K-girls just don't get the same exposure and they play quality tennis.

When Potapova whas behind in the first set she started screaming when hitting the ball. In the second set when it was all going her way, the screaming stopped. Just to show that the screaming is deliberate
Its because there was pressure and high intensity in the first set. She needs to break back. And she dominates in the second set 6-1. You are not a tennis player i believe.

Petra Martic’s stamina is really what limits her to become an elite player. Her energy level is really just average or mediocre. And she’s also already 32 years old. Her weak point in stamina is only going to get worse as time goes on.
