Anastasia played a magnificent Tennis match today. I have been following her matches and she gets better and better everyday. I hope she wins many more titles and possibly GSes. She has the talent to do that. I was also impressed by her calm and measured speech. Congratulations to you.
no matter who won just a great matchup from two talented girls who are both professional. i’m def a potapova fan by default. she is such a strong powerful fighter. would have liked seeing VKM get a win. she’s become a favorite of mine and love seeing her play.
Veronika plays brilliant tennis throughout the course of a tournament but suddenly faces a mental roadblock during the finals. It's been the case all season long. Congrats Potapova on an amazing run. This title was long overdue.
She definitely has some sort of mental block. That match against Kvitová at Miami Open where she was 4-0 up with a double break and then she started making tons of mistakes and ended up allowing Kvitová back in the set and eventually winning the match was definitely a mentality issue.

Potapova was absolutely relentless in this tournament, she steamrolled all her opponents by hitting unbelievable winners. After all she has been through it was nice to see her winning the tournament and deservedly so. She played amazingly well.
That was some tennis,Potapova looking rejuvenated,this could be the beginning of many more to come

First ever title? Wow I thought she was going to be the next big thing after she was ranked the number 1 junior and won junior Wimbledon.

Potapova was one of only juniors with a powerful hitting I saw (live at least I wasn't watching 90s juniors) because juniors is only about put the ball in play, practice tennis so she had something special but never could step up cuz of unlucky draws, some injuries... that's a good title to try to find a rhythm finally. Kudermetova I swear I can't understand she's a top player, play a beautiful tennis made 3 finals this year and couldn't even took a set at any of them.
Same. I am a fan since the Wimbledon final but she couldn't keep up her game, that is quite predictable, even though she search for the ball with very rapid feet and nice hitting. I hope she will be a late bloomer, she deserves more!

I wanted K-Met to win, but she wasn't hungry enough. Potapova was clearly hungry for it, and aggressively went for it. K-Met was far too passive, and was on the defensive end for too much of the match, What a pity! But congrats to Potapova. She earned it. Life lesson: Go for broke if you really want something!

Bitter sweet to see Potapova and Rublev winning tournaments, knowing the upcoming blanket ban on Russian players at Wimbledon.
The WTA refused to show matches from its tournaments in Russia. But even if the European Commission approved the purchase of Russian gas for rubles, and the UK also agrees with the purchase of this product, then should the WTA be in trend?

Elina Svitolina has taken it upon herself in proposing that all WTA, ATP, ITL russian and belarussian players be subjected to her silly questionnaire in answering her personalized questions in order to prove themselves worthy to continue competing on tour. It's arrogant of her, not to mention somewhat naive in doing so. She seems to lack the understanding of their situation. They simply don't want to get involved politically, and are not inclined go on record and denounce Putin or the war publicly as they are fearful for their own lives (and livelihood), not to mention concerns for their families' safety. Under Russia's oppressive regime and authoritarian dictator, citizens are prohibited in making anti-Russian statements or holding any kind of protests, demonstrations, rallies etc.
And to Marta Kostyuk - sorry but your feelings and judgments of your 'cold' russian tennis peers who have chosen to remain silent on the matter, are misguided (for reasons already stated) 🤷♂️🤷♀️

It's nothing personal against them but Russian players must be banned until Russia leaves Ukraine. Atrocities are being committed daily there by them. Wimbledon has shown leadership now the WTA must follow or risk losing credibility. If the WTA attempts to impose sanctions on Wimbledon, the UK, Polish, Czech, Ukrainian and Estonian tennis federations will set up a rival tour, and the WTA will be left with Sakkari, the Russians and Belarusian.
Then players from the US, UK, Israel should have been banned also for invading Afghanistan and Palestine
