Biggest fail are the Logitech Z333 fake tweeters, look like real dirvers, but they are fake, nor real. Plastic *hit! Some alternatives from Logitech speakers systems: Z606, Z207, Z537, Z337, G560, S150, Z625, Z623, Z150, Z323, Z213, Z200, Z130, Z313, Z533 or Logitech Z906. @@PackardKotch They're only honest because they were forced to be honest by government regulators. The disclaimer is only on the box via a sticker, indicating they initially tried to sell them without telling the customers. Overall, big scumbag move by Logitech, I'm usually a fan of their products but I'll be thinking twice before my next purchase.

@@xhalanga Yeah thats a big problem with most speakers of the cheaper brand builders these days, shame that logitech cares less for their lower end products these days cutting corners where they shouldnt.
Theory on forums is that they do this so they can upsell their low/midtier class as a straight midtier while its not.
Since there are other brands for the same price that use real dome tweeters (not even piezo but actually dome tweeters) they try to copy that style so you dont choose another brand that has real tweeters for around the same price range.

(i also own a few logitech speaker but in the end im never satisfied with the overal sound, thats what you get with 150hz crossovers and cheapest possible satelites. Atleast these use wooden cabinets. Funny how the more expensive logitech sets use plastic for the satelites..
Hi, i recommend something like this to replace the satelites with to get better sound (ps dont just focus on the tweeter of the logitech satelite speaker, it needs a better midrange driver to)
No need to change subwoofer. easier plus its cheap

Use this fenton 8 ohm speaker if you have a z2300 or a z5500 as example cause they have 8 ohm satelites, if you have a Z333 buy 4 ohm full range 5inch/6.5inch speakers that are made for cars cause the amp is sending 4 ohms trough the speakers, Matching these numbers is critical for having good sound, if you place 8 ohm speakers on a 4ohm amplifier such as the Z333 has then the sound wil be on low volume for the satelites, so always match the impedence/ohm

You dont need small bookshelf speakers that are expensive, just buy cheap ones that dont produce much lower than 60/70hertz, because your amplifier from the logitech speaker wont give anything lower than 100hertz to the satelites anyway.
Just changing the satelites can make a big difference, even the cheapest tinyst car speakers will sound good, and if the logitech amplifier only send out 8 ohm, you can wire 2 cheap speakers together In Series wiring to make the 4ohm car speaker 8ohm. (
This wil be beter for the amp at higher volume.) you wil have to buy 4 speakers in total for this to work :P plus alot of wood
Not gonna lie in my experience the subwoofer is the one that need to be replaced because it’s crap, the satellites are better than X530/540 and G51 (all models where Logitech used dual drivers with one playing full range and the other having the treble cut out)
Logitech be like: "Just use whatever we have."

Thank you for the dissasembly video. I'm currently looking for a way to fix the "digital farting" noise that comes from satelite speakers. Switched speakers to another pair I had around - same thing. My only clue as to why this happend is a cable that supplies power to the subwoofer because someone have made an attempt to fix it by soldering a break in a brown wire and smacked an ungodly amount of electrical tape around both wires inside the power cable. The fix worked until today evening (June 17 2021). Already looked at power board and motherboard and saw no bulged/leaked capacitors or broken solder joints.
someone needs to do take apart the eris 3.5s and the t100s.

thank you for this video, I have been trying to find a way to open the controller pod since I want to disable the LED light. It is very bright and annoying during nighttime. I don't want to keep turning it on and off every time I need to listen to something on my PC.
For the price the Z333 is a good speaker system, however the Z906 is definitely a welcome upgrade.
The Z906 is also 400 dollars😂

I bought the Logitech Z333 and then noticed they had the Logitech Z337 Bluetooth for £10 (£50) without fake tweeter. And soon after found Logitech Z537 for £20 more than Z333 at £60. So I returned it and got the Logitech Z537 Bluetooth. *And it is POWERFULL!!!!* Without having the fake look. 😁

you'll have to design and make a crossover and the cabinet and main driver is no worth the time
@@billysgeo what the fuck are you talking about, put a tweeter and a capacitor, done. you can buy a car tweeter (those round small ones) for cheap, they usally come with a cap to filter out lows and mid range. Its the easiest mod you can do to this system and it will sound better. i did similar stuff 15 years ago on crappy speakers that looked the same and had a fake tweeter.
BIll Geo The whole point of replacing the fake with real isn’t for the value behind it, he would just do it to literally just do it. There’s not much value in a comparison project like that other than to just compare.

Yeah always upgrade every logitech speaker with small bookshelf speakers or 6x9 car speakers, i even used 12inch fullrange speaker same as whitevanscam speakers , basicly anything sounds better than their basic default satelites.
I dont get it anyway, your satelites must always be atleast half the size of your woofer/subwoofer to fill the room with sound, with logitech they expect you to hear midrange from the subwoofer lol

I think, that 2.0 system with midbass and tweeter driver give more detailed, natural sound.

They didn't have that disclaimer there initially, it was only after they realised it'd be false advertising. Moreover, they're counting on people not reading the description properly, since many people will just look at the appearance and buy it (sure, those people are dumb, but it's still misleading by Logitech).
@@StratOCE i bought the speakers yesterday and while I was aware of the fake tweeters, during my average man unboxing I never saw mentioning of the tweeters being fake on the instructions or box (I'm not saying its not there but if it is its definitely not obvious). outstanding speakers nonetheless!

My subwoofer doesn't work, it just won't produce sound. I tried everything, it is making a hum noise when in standby mode. I find it strange can someone help me?
take out subwoofer and try to another amplifier, ir try different speaker, to check is the sub amp is okey :)

Its not a bad system but i would put satelites with real tweeters on it. Even the Genius speakers have real tweeters lol. For that money i would get a Z3 sub and hook it up with some 15w satelites

@@Techscrews Volume is changing on this one only if i wobble with controler. Bad potenciometer? I check inside of it and it looks like that little sheets of tin are bad. Maybe one is cracked or missing.

Put a hole where the fake tweeter is placed so if the speaker is rattling. The tweeter starts to react.

Switch mode power supply is the worst idea for audio conponents ever... They break. Happened in z906 and i bought a used z5500 ;p
I have powersoft digimod 1500 amp with switch mode power supply and work sun live.
For this kind of systems it's better to have a fullrange speaker than a bad tweeter with a simple capacitor

They are declared 40 watts but the satillites are 10 watts each and the sub 30 watts?
these are speaker driver wattage, but system show amplifier power. For example: you have 1000w speaker, but you power it with 100w power amplifier, how watt system you get ?
@@Techscrews 100w, i understood. The extra power of the drivers is to avoid damage to the speakers at max volume.

Whats the chip amp? im GUESSING its the same STA540 as the Z313 just ran at a higher voltage for more power

All the current Logi 2.1's under around $100 use the STA 540 power amp. how they get more power is the more expensive models is they just bump the supply voltage up by using either a larger transformer or a SMPS, as seen in this video.

I have old old Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers which are effected by bugs from static electricity in the carpet. I have had it! I am hoping these will be just the job to get me by but I am concerned about this fake tweeter thing.

The creases around screws on back panel look shabby for starters. As for the fake tweeters, i'm gobsmacked. My impression of Logitech speakers. " Avoid them " I have good Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse set. Can't complain. Their Speakers... Waste of space.
Logitech z623 and Z906 are bestsellers and give very good performance for money. Logitech low end speakers not very well.

Does yours Z333 stop playing sound if you don't feed them any audio signal for a few time? Mine are always ON, but it seems they get disabled after some time and when I turn my TV ON it takes a bit for the speakers to wake up and then they keep playing, but if I put the TV in very low volume they go into some sort of Eco mode and I don't think the manual says anything about that...
Anyway they are working fine and sound is pretty OK since I paid around 50€ for them... though I have had better older creative 2.1 speakers when they all made good stuff for low prices...

Thank You for all your reports, but its strange that I actually read the manual if I even remember well and I don't think it was described in it so I thought its strange and I searched online and never saw anyone talking about that either...
I have the speakers for like 2 or 3 years and have always been like that, they cost around 60€ here, but I got them from mainland in a promotion for like 50€ or less, can't even remember...
I also have Trust GTX 658 Tytan 5.1 and they have a Eco button and the manual clearly describes it as going to standby if no audio signal is detected for 60 min...
I think it still sounds good...

It'scprobavly the knob. They are really faulty. A known problem with 2 1s. How do i know? I had the same problem and found dozens of others with problem.
im having the problen that when i adjust the volume there's noise (something like you plug the cable in whitenoises)
Sounds like damaged volume control, best way is just turn good, loud volume and the sound velen control throught computer digital volume control.

I have the same speakers, the drivers and the enclosures are OK but the built quality of the rest is very bad. I got them for cheap because they were broken from the factory. The power supply was just held in place by ONE tiny screw! I could trace the problem back to a defective zener diode (Z1 If I remember correctly), but I cannot fix it since I don't lnow the value of the diode. If anyone knows it please tell me.

Yeah but that's kind of futile if I don't know the exact value of the diode. The oscillator IC of the SMPS requires some special snowflake curcuit to start it instead of just a startup resistor, to "save energy" it said according to the datasheet application schematic. But somehow logitech left that out and used some obscure curcuit including a zener diode to power the IC directly from the rectified mains through the start-up pin.
However, I came to the conclusion that the zener was open curcuit and that's the reason for the failure. And it was: As I put in the zener of a PSU pulled from another Logitech system utilizing the same IC, it worked!
But then, since I wanted to keep that PSU too, i figured out it would be better to measure the zener and find a replacement for it, but the tiny POS go lost (REEE!) before I could do it!
Now I'm stuck with two broken SMPS and a broken diode with nothing useful written on it. But I'm not planning on wasting much time and money on trial and error or complicated calculations and measurements to save what is essentially a crap system.
If u can't fix this device go get the speakers to keep them from burning.sometimes the speakers are connected via a capacitor with lethal charge so they have the fast startup.
But it is wrong.coz 5volts can kill a woofer or speaker that can be connected to a capacitor. But tweeters cannot be killed with 5 volts with capacitor though

There is no treble capacitor or passive crossover of any sort in this system. The filtering is done fully active, with SMD-version chinese knockoff 4558 op amps if I remember correctly. The speakers are powered via a 4-channel amplifier IC (STA something) with two channels bridged for the "sub"woofer. I think the speakers are connected to it with coupling caps to protect them from the DC offset, but I'm not sure since some chipamps can do without that (however they do that).
