Love the idea of the painted, thrifted, jewelry box as a curious vessel. What a unique table top display. I see them all the time... now I will actually get one and start my own curio collection. I wish I could find fallen nests, but I never do. I have a faux one under a large glass garden dome, with aged tiny terra cotta pots and a little cement bird. Its the perfect patio or garden table vignette. I have never even heard of pastaski stones. They look amazing! All the patterns are so beautiful . The cottage and its story are incredible!!!! Its dreamy!

I had never heard of Petosky stones until my daughter moved to Michigan.

Back in the 1980’s and 1990’s the petosky stones were large and plentiful. Today they are much smaller and fewer. They are easier to find up around Petosky Michigan on the shores of the lake and in gift shops you’ll find them made into pendants, charms, earrings. Have fun searching!

We love collecting art on our trips. Things that would be thousands of dollars in the US can be had for $150 when purchased at the source.
Pro trip when collecting natural objects - do a quick Google search for local laws about what you are allowed to take and/or transport. For example, you can't take seeds internationally and certain beaches won't let you take sand.

I was very much interested in the cabinet of curiosity and did a double take on the footage it attracted, intentional or not! Though his character was well developed beyond expectation, Colin’s diary did deserve a peep , no?

I so agree! In my version of the story, Colin would be a keen observer of science and nature, making observations that light a spark in a young Darwin.

I wouldn't exactly rely on the sets of that show. It's incredibly historically incorrect and filtered through someone's agenda. But pretty, nonetheless.

Definitely NOT historically accurate! The costuming is probably worse than the interiors, but fun to see.
