So sorry I just had to re-upload this! And here my friends is ANOTHER teachable moment, based on a (rookie!) mistake! In the first upload, I was trying to show some of my short-form video content, on TikTok, so I downloaded one of my TikTok videos and popped it in, ONLY it had the TikTok watermark on it, BIG Mistake! The YT Algorithm sees that as "Copyright infringement" and then sends me a Copyright Infringement notice with the message that my video will get less reach because of it (ugh) so after all the work that went into this video, it was worth losing the first 1200 views in order to re-upload it in order to get a wider reach, and therefore hopefully help more people with their food content. Phew OK, take 2! Here we go again LOL!

Loved this video on the "How to..." video. It was entertaining & educational & FUN. Thank You!! Why don't you use clips of the one video you do in the kitchen that you can use for all the other Social Media channels? You're working double and making it hard on yourself.

Watching as a viewer, it all looks so effortless - but I now realise that therein lies the real skill - the ability to MAKE IT LOOK so effortless! Your work is nothing short of amazing Beth!

    Congratulations on ten years Beth!
I have been following your content quietly for many years, and even after all this time you continue to be a true inspiration for me both as a creator and with all the recipes you share. I didn't know it was possible but I have truly fallen even further in love with your content with your recent long-form videos - from Beth in France to these more behind-the-scenes videos. It just brings another level of warmth and authenticity to your channel that lets me feel even more connected with you as a person.
You are one of the few creators that always leaves me with a smile as I watch your content, in fact this video published right after a 13 hour work shift and I was delighted to have had an entire 40 minute video to unwind with! Your can-do pragmatic yet encouraging spirit is something that really brightens my day especially as a creator myself, and I'm so grateful to have gotten to follow along on your journey.
To many more years of great cooking and thank you again for everything that you do! (I should also add I have tried plenty of your recipes over the years and not one of them has failed me yet!)

I love how authentic you are. I love how humble you are. I only found you a year ago and it felt like Christmas. I binged you for about 4 hours on a very rainy Sunday afternoon. I didn't realize at the time your career history of working with your Dad's tv show. I kept telling my family & friends to check you out, "Beth is such a natural and enjoys cooking so much, she makes every recipe look easy to prepare and her channel is so professional for a home cook." Dear Lord, Beth I had no idea all the work you do to film. I feel bad, like I didn't appreciate you and your recipes enough. So, although I don't want to have a RUclips channel of my own, I absolutely love that you shared this with us. All the best to you, Beth. I'm a forever fan. Also, I really enjoy the recipes you share. I have made so many of them. My son said our dining is so much better since I've tried to cook and bake like you. 😊

Regarding lighting, in movies it’s done to fit the tone of the subject. Bright and cheery would represent breakfast, summer, spring. Dark, Warm and cozy is autumn, holiday seasons. That’s something I don’t see much in cooking videos. Like show us what it looks like to cook when that Southern California sunset 🌅 approaches.
Also, I enjoyed the ambience for birthday dinner party you did, that was pure outdoor cozy summer nights fantasy. Truly reminded of the one in Chocolat 😌 I would love to do all of that💯.

Hello Beth - Somehow I just stumbled across your channel and this video. With a much smaller channel and slightly fewer years, what a delight watching this video. I'm not sure I learned too much new but, more importantly, I've received confirmation of the so many steps, time and process. Yes, set up takes time but you MUST clean / straighten up the kitchen first. Place the lights, the stands, the tripods. Check the lights, check them again. Turn on the mic, connect the mic. Look for glare, check the framing, check the cameras, don't forget to hit record.
I've found my most successful pattern is to plan to shoot the video across two days. One day for the talking shot, one day for the close-ups. I've tried switching the order and have found it depends on the recipe. And, given my career in tech I suppose, I edit the death out of the videos before I'm happy with them. It's probably overkill but in that sense I aim for perfect imperfection. I probably spend too much time on the edit but that's where I get much of my satisfaction.
    Thanks for sharing!

It's so true! I find the editing is the most fun too, and there's an old adage in film editing that goes "Movie editing is never finished, you just decide when to give up on it" LOL! That keeps things in perspective for me! So glad you enjoyed the video!

Beth, I just found your videos yesterday, and I LOVE your content. You’re informative, kind, considerate and give really usable content. So far you’re the only YT’ber I’ve found that includes a menu AND a game plan. I’ve been looking for years and so glad I finally found you! Thank you so much for all your hard work, and for sharing such great content with us!

Thank you for your honesty of the good the bad and everything that goes into this… So many others won’t share behind the scenes, but give this illusion that everything is perfect and nothing ever goes wrong… You show hard work and great tips on learning, even if something went wrong. More content creators should include something like this, because this encourages me as a entrepreneur that it is possible. 😊😊😊

Thanks a bunch for doing this video! It was so interesting to watch how much real labor and time goes into one of your cooking videos - especially as your videos are fun and entertaining and look so effortless. It proves, being a RUclipsr (or social media creator) is indeed a real job. And that it needs some serious skills, equipment but also the constant willingness/ambition to learn and grow if one likes to turn a hobby into a fulltime job.
I would love you creating more videos like this which gives us a 'behind the scenes' look now and than.

Thanks for this very informative behind the scene video . All the cynical people who criticize bloggers and you tubers for not doing a real job should watch it and be humbled. I love your channel, style and recipes for their genuine tone. You asked for a comment on the “halo” light- I would keep watching light or no light, I don’t mind the slightly less bright of the no light on your face solution and agree with you that it feels more natural. I absolutely love your videos in your French house which you might shoot with different gear. Thanks a lot for keeping such a fantastic channel .

"Bad mistakes are good mistakes" is fantastic advice. I made the same mistake of recording a whole video with no audio but now that lesson is seared into my mind. Im sure Ive heard that you need to check your audio before recording 100x but actually making that mistake and having to reshoot made the lesson unforgettable. Thank you for all the wonderful advice!
