    Nice video! Next time, grommet and valve removal will be easier if the grommet is lubricated before installation. And a set of inexpensive picks and/or o-ring tools will make the removal much easier. ✌🏼

    A light squirt of silicone spray under lip of grommet prior to removing the grommet. Let sit a couple minutes and work it out much easier.

    Thanks for the info - this has gotta be my problem cause I can smell the unburnt gas so the valve is not recycling the unburnt gas. BTW I switched to real gas two tank fulls ago and car is running much better but I expected problems with parts that weren't used to real gas (labeled recreational gas at station). I switched after smelling the ethanol added gas in the can for my lawn mower which smells like rotting plants. I said no way am I using that shit in any of my engines. Unbelievable that gas companies would sell that shit for anything but maybe compost additive.
    Long story short all my engines run much better with more power but I expected them to have some hiccups while getting used to real gas again, and so it was that my Lexus needed some minor adjustments and a few things cleaned and/or new sensors etc, also did a complete tune up adding new coil igniters, spark plugs, etc. But in the end it is worth it. It runs like a race car now. Major power increase! PVC valve is gunked up so I will replace it now too. Thanks again. Tom Holland

    Came to watch an eight and a half video on a PCV Valve replacement, ended up watching a six minute video on how to struggle removing PCV Grommet.

    What effect does replacing the PVC valve have on the engine?
    Thank

      The pcv valve helps to vent gases from the combustion chamber...if it goes bad, you lose the venting and it can cause buildup in your engine

    I am about to do this but if the grommet falls inside. Is it okay to leave it in there?

    • @cruisinwithgreg
      @cruisinwithgreg  Год назад +2

      I would not recommend leaving it in. The first time I did the change the grommet fell in and I was able to get the pieces out with needle nose pliers. You could also try duct tape on an exenstion, a shop vac over the pcv opening etc.

    On the GX, it's much easier, there is no rubber grommet to deal with!

    What a pain in the ass! What the hell do you do if it falls in?

      You may be able to take needle nose pliers to get the pieces out or put a shop vac over the hole and get it out.
