Very well done. The KA community has been needing a video like this.
Thank you for watching! Good to hear it’s helpful
Yassss!
This is what we were talking about. People are gonna watch and build at the same time with such chill vibes with the music.
Ka Build:
Step 1: Be Nick.
Step 2: Engines done.
Magic.
Thanks dude I can feel myself getting better every video .
😂😂
1.5hrs condensed to 20mins
Coming back to this video again 2 years later. Those part numbers are a time saver!!! Thanks dude
Awesome video man! Love the editing and the attention to detail
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!! I will be refreshing my KA using this video🔥🙌🏽
I liked and subbed many years ago, but don't know if I ever left a comment. Thank you for all the effort you put into making this video! This is my type of how to video. Showing how you do it in real time. This is extremely useful to anyone needing to work on these KA's.
Wow. The intake related stuff is going to take awhile to sort out. The rest looks pretty straight forward. 12mm swivel socket has just been ordered. Thanks for putting this up.
The ka24 is becoming so popular these days. Thanks for the post!
No problem more ka stuff to come I put a lot of stock cars together
Beautifully done👌🏼
🥰🥰
Killing it man this is really detailed 👍🏼
Thank you for the feedback ☺️
Another soothing video with a guest appearance by M18 power! Added to the playlist.
Little do you know I’m editing these specifically for you
I needed this as i’m assembling my KA. Thank you!
Same
Awesome video, very informative!
☺️
Thank you because I’m gonna totally rebuild the KA in my car and actually add good power and this video is awesome! Keep up the good work!
Glad I could help!
This is the Greatest Auto shop dream video of all time
This makes me excited to get better and make more
Great video I really needed this putting a dual cam in my single cam car
🙏 thank you. wiring is pretty simple ..
Just need to swap dash plug to brown dohc and match the colors.
Wiring:1. Locate the body harness (under dash harness that attached to the ECU) that attached to your old harness. Cut the old connector off (the one that attached to your SOHC harness) and attach your DOHC body harness connector. Just match the colors!Yellow/Red --TachYellow/Green--SpeedometorOrange--Ignition startBlack---GroundBlue/Black---Water temp sensor
Very good job and very quick
I appreciate it thanks for taking the time to watch and compliment 🙏
Thanks for this
Thank you 🙏 you’re my hero
anytime
AutoShopDream with another work of ART
Already editing next weeks video 🥰
thank you!!!
Nicely done
🙏 thank you
Supppper helpful video
🙏 glad it helps
Nahhhhhh ima need you to do every task on the 1989-2002 Nissan production line now in this format
We just getting started ☺️
FYI the oil pump seal is on the wrong way @ 10:46. I hope you removed it and put it in the timing cover collar facing inside the pump
This engine now has another 40k miles on it since the refresh . It will seal either way . I’ve done it both ways as I’ve disassembled original engines and found them in this configuration also
I want you to rebuild my ka as well lol
amazing video! thanks!
Thank you for watching !!
@@Nscardigno33 are the heater hoses all the same for s14 as well? im doing a refresh on my KA al new seals and removing emissions but want to keep heater and ac...
@@bm2409 under the intake manifold yes they are all the same
@@bm2409 now for the intake manifold to the heater core you’ll need
Gates part number #19049
And gates part number #18774
@@bm2409 they are not 100% direct fit but if you trim the right sides down they will fit perfect
Great video bro!! hey, do you have a link to the FSM thanks bro hey also would you recommend deleting the EGR? Thanks
forums.nicoclub.com/240sx-fsm-full-service-manuals-s13-s14-ka24e-ka24de-t311075.html
also I'm working on a partner ship with a company that sells paper back version of the fsm should be ready soon let me know if your interested
Hey boss, dont know if you will read this, but im tackling rebuilding my first ka right now, and when i dissembled i cut alot of hoses and lines on the intake manifold, wondering where you are supposed to source those?
What hose did you use for the PCV valve? In particular, the one piece that goes from the PCV valve to the distribution tube. The hoses are insanely expensive at the dealership.
It’s a 3/8 hose I just use some thick wall fuel hose hose for it so it doesn’t kink. Or walk in back of oriellys and match up a prebent 90 at parts store
I have to replace the PVC Valve(rubber grommets) when I replaced the PVC, is between the PVC and breather separator, the rubber vale was so bad and crumble, most of pieces was fall into the breather separator, I didn't take them out before I replaced the new PVC, This this matter?
I have an all OE 92.
can you do the same with the single cam?
I'm struggling to find any info on the oil pump seal in the service manual that you mention at 10:48 - do you have a part number?
What did you do for heater core lines?
Great video! Where did you buy some of your parts??? @AutoShopDream
I use rock auto quite a bit most oem parts are discontinued
how are you capping the ports?
Could I reference this video for a 2002 Nissan frontier xe ? My dad just gave me one 285k miles M/T 4 cylinder.... After a year of sitting I started it up and nothing but blue smoke and failed air compression ratio.... I doubt it's a ka cause I saw mexico stamped ... But it is a 2.4... ? Any advice would be great.
Sorry for late response I missed this . To an extent yes but the frontier Ka is a bit different as far as hose routing, intake manifold design and distributor location
awesome vid. Where did you get that Tstat without a jiggle valve? would be grateful for a PN.
oriellys doesn’t stock ka thermostats no I either get them from autozone (Murray brand) or rock auto not sure where this one came from
@@Nscardigno33 ive been looking for one without the valve and can't seem to find one. searches always yield stats with it. I want one that is set at 180 without the valve
@@justinlassiter7671 to be honest I may have cut the valve off it myself I do that sometimes
@@Nscardigno33 yeah, I've clipped and drilled them in the past. I don't like them because it increases warm up time. I plug them by bending the valve shut and the engine reaches temp in like 3-4 minutes. I checked Rockauto and they do have the 76.5 without the valve, but even better, they have an 82C with a jiggle so I bought that and will plug it. Thanks a ton for the reference brotha
Is there supposed to be a hat seal in the block as well as the lower timing cover/oil pump or just the 1 in the block?
Just one in the block
@@Nscardigno33 cool thanks 🤙
Can I get that FSM link by chance?
So I've got a problem, i was told my Ka has silicone inside the engine, they said its not gonna run if they swap it over, will i have to rebuild it or should I just run it and let it burn off?
that sounds crazy I dk how silicone could get in the engine or how they would know there is . unless someone did a poor job resealing it and used too much rtv . in that case just pull the front cover off clean and reseal
@@Nscardigno33 i probably guess the engine guy didn't care too much about the motor since he said it's pretty much an easy engine to work on, but i found someone else to do a rebuild and they told me they will completely refurbish all the parts to get my engine in tip top condition 👌
What was the house you were using that was wrapped up and we’re cutting up?
Hose*
What size was the spool of hose you were cutting?
5/16
What gasket kits is everyone using?
I’ve always had good luck with felpro gaskets as most of this engine is sealed with rtv
How did you remove the injector caps?
I've got an ls2 s14 build otw
What kind of pressure washer are you using?
harbor freight lol
Bruh need help I did the egr delete took everything out expect the hard lines under the intake the car starts revs its self to 2k rpm’s then bogs and shuts off. 4 hard lines in the back are still open and not capped and 4 hoses up front only one t’s off to the intake. I have a dual cam ka
Okay then cap them or remove them you only did half the job
@@Nscardigno33 okay I’ll try that and thank you yeah I would’ve capped all but the pack of caps I bought only 2 were small enough
@@Nscardigno33 plus I figured since they aren’t connected upfront they wouldn’t need to be capped
@@s13_shawn they don’t all need to be capped but without knowing what you did it’s better to cap them all. The proper way to do this is with the intake manifold off
@@Nscardigno33 yeah I’ll end up taking it off if that doesn’t work
The elevator music makes this perfect.
I got some more tunes otw
I've never seen emissions stuff on a KA 😂
What pressure washer you have?
Harbor freight 😂
@@Nscardigno33does it actually work good debating on getting one or a sunjoe?
@@soychinoloc it’s been working good for me
I can’t find the part number for thermostat to intake hose? the one you gave is a gates for 1998 civic?
Correct there is no listed hose for the 240sx . I use a civic bypass hose and trim to length
Do you have that fsm link bro?
forums.nicoclub.com/240sx-fsm-full-service-manuals-s13-s14-ka24e-ka24de-t311075.html
also I'm starting a partnership with a company that sells paperback fsm if that's something you'd be interested in
I have complete swap ka24de running for sale.
I wish it was normal speed
Unfortunately the video would be an hour long or more if I did that
