Same been watching everyday for almost 2 years, can't get enough of it, I think Dan is living a dream for all of us, making 50k a month for renovating their own giant chateau/castle 😅. With such a huge amount of land , what a dream 🥲😇❤

In all its mundane simplicity I really enjoyed this episode. The day after. And the early beginnings of a new adventure, but first simply organise stuff and clear up. It is the part of the story left out of most novels and history books. But it is a joy to watch because we feel it. We do it. It is essential. And with every tool replaced and brush doing its cleaning work we remember the mind bending effort you undertook to reach this point. So it is satisfying to see you alone in your chateau, without your friends / partners in crime that so effortlesly became our friends, just by being who they are. So I love to see you showing the insolation materials, some temporary window action, some clever video editing. And then the preparations for gardening. And then another essential: you making time for family. And now as I think about it, I realise that this is actually real magic. With a few camera's and phones, some editing software and an internet connection, you became a friend, almost family, to half a million people all over the world. And you enriched my life. So thanks! Enjoy this moment, enjoy the time off with family, and enjoy that special feeling of preparing for the next adventure.

Who can forget the beginning! One shovel and wheelbarrow with a flat tire. Then the first time you pulled up supplies to the second floor was bricks in a grocery bag.... the good old days eh! Good for Dan and all your helpers
You went from burnt walls, no floors, windows or ceilings, big trees growing inside and piles of burnt rubble that filled the basement about five feet high from end to end. And you did this all in the past 12+ months. Now you have a Chateau basically waterproofed, with doable windows and floors you can walk on. On day one, you started with a non-functional dangerous structure that was ready to be torn down and you Dan, turned it into a Chateau again. Thank you for bringing life back to the Chateau.
I have done 7 major home renovations. I worked on the first 2 with our father, an electrician AND electrical engineer. He taught me that about every 2 weeks, you have stop work, collect the tools, organize and clean up the work site. This would usually happen on a Friday afternoon. He was a very experienced man and encouraged me to treat the weekends as "time off". I am so happy I did so, especially on the second renovation as my daughter was only 1.5 years old. You don't get those days when your children are young back.
Absolutely. If you ever saw the previous place Dan worked on, you'd know he's a messy worker! It amused me one time when he was showing off his latest piece of work, and as the camera panned, a great pile of wreckage came into view 😆
I absolutely love that your restoration includes the landscaping and that you are able to plant really well grown trees. The outdoor work will be a beautiful surrounding for the finished chateau rather than the usual squalid mud and mess surrounding most renovation projects.❤
The chateau has regained her beautiful crown thanks to Dan, Nick and Brian. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this project. I feel like you all are family. 😊
I lived in my house in the Vendée for two years catching rain in buckets, when I finally got to replace the roof and tiles I spent many happy nights sleeping listening to the rain… Eventually got it finished, little by little, my neighbors thought I was crazy until they came round for an apéro in a finished house… 😊
I really enjoy retrospect vlogs even though (like many) I've been here since the beginning of time. I'm excited for Dan to welcome new subs, maybe we can help him out by patiently answering questions, including them in conversations, helping everyone feel at home here as much as we do. A good bunch of nice people on here. Cheers everyone ☕
Even though I watched every single video of this project I still really enjoy the big recap videos, I'm always in disbelief how much progress you are making, even though I watched it all.
For all of us who have been here since the first video when you found the chateau , you are an absolute miracle . The chateau was being taken over by nature bees and trees . I an on awe that you built floors and now a roof from last Christmas until now the amount of work is unprecedented. Congratulations!!!!! Enjoy the boys. They are going to have some legacy when you are done.
Ah, the sound of rain pattering on the roof! My gosh, it seems like there has been rain coming down in buckets during your work at the chateau. Congratulations on an incredible accomplishment.
