It's sad how one wrong turn can impact a future. Shoplifting is bad but not horrible. Alford handled this incredibly bad. There was never a timeline - one game suspension - five game suspension - nothing. Worse: TO BE DETERMINED! I've always thought of Gelo as a Dantley / Aguirre type of player but only a better shooter! Best wishes for whatever he chooses in the future!
I still dont get why tf he would steal? Rich parents, a brother in the nba, was an nba prospect himself and did it in one of the worst situations and worst countries to shoplift in. Why?
I like how the kid never quit, that means more than him playing in the NBA for 20 years, his brothers are rich I'm sure he'll be financially good, plus he achieved more than most men achieve in a life time..
I agree with you for the most part. Gelo was also simply a power forward with a 6'3" body. Had he been 6'7", the way he battled inside and shot the 3 ball, he could have easily been a 10 year vet. I guess the height issue is the case for a lot of people trying to make it in the nba.
Gelo can't rebound. It was an issue in Lithuania and worse in the G league. Maybe if he were the taller brother it would helped but the gap between Gelo and a 10 year vet is about as wide as between me and a G league starter
What pops wanted was 2 to be on one team and the 3rd would automatically get a chance on the team. Zo and melo being on different teams and resigning with the teams blackballed Gelo. Lonzo played dirty resigning instead of taking a pay cut to play with melo which would have got gelo in there. So now Zo saying he can’t make the nba when it’s partly cause he didn’t want to go to the hornets. Now you got the money but injured all the time. Stuck with pops plan yall might alll be shining together.
I never liked Lavar Ball… His brash personality bothered me. But, lots of respect… As a dad, he did right by his boys and set them up well to get into the NBA. Sadly for Lonzo, he can’t stay healthy. Still rooting for Lonzo

In every family that has a lot of money and a lot of things they have a sacrifice. Look it up
This is kind of sad. In my view, he was the best player out of the three. I do believe he would have been playing in the NBA right now if it had not been for the horrible choice in Chine that ruined his future in the NBA.
What people tend to forget about this dude is that he had a shoplifting scandal in China. He got bailed out by trump(president at the time). The scandal destroyed his reputation and got kicked out of UCLA.😂 not the brightest of the ball brothers
Damn DKM to see you switch it up from hating on gelo to actually realizing you was wrong and being mam enough to make it right Bravo !! 👏🏾 Gelo really is like that he just being doing stupid shit Hope you and lavar finally patch it up G
He has nobody to blame for his current situation but himself. 🤷 It's his fault he decided to shoplift in China and ruin his college career and it was his fault he decided to leave the Hornets organization when he did.
He should of went overseas when he left UCLA. Melo played overseas and it helped him develop & get drafted in the NBA, although Melo was was getting drafted regardless. Gelo went long periods not hooping on a pro level, he put a lot of hope into the G League when he should of played pro overseas were he could get lots of minutes & show off his game for NBA scouts
Great video man. Was a sad watch but I'm sure Gelo is just fine - in his eyes he probably did the most he could under each given circumstance and seems happy. One final plot twist in the story - Gelo's kid becomes better than Melo and take the Ball family MVP and plays with his uncle in his 25th season...
@dkm end of the day, gelo was gonna be a role player, but he did nothing off ball so he was useless when he didnt have the ball. so you have a bench guy like that that does nothing else, he just a liability. lotta guys in gleague are ball dominant and dont play defence, dont rebound, to pass, and cant ball handle well. those guys have no place when called up because they are called up to be role players.
Bruh please knock it Off, Gelo was a good high school player, due to the system he was playing in. But a NBA talent he’s not, he’s slow, can’t dribble, and he’s not athletic, Everyone can’t go 🤷♂️
Gelo messed up with that shoplifting incident when he was at UCLA. He wasn't a one and done, but if he played at UCLA for maybe 3 years, he could have had a real shot at the NBA as a bench guy.
LiAngelo Ball put in the effort but an unwise (in hindsight) decision or two, circumstances beyond his control (COVID) and a nagging injury bug perhaps mean never reached the top level. Another year at UCLA could’ve helped a lot. It’s much more visible than the JBL. However, if he is now providing for his family and putting family first then he is should be applauded. We’ll see how the James kid does going forward.
you are BUGGING.... I don't like his ignorant "Michigan is in Detroit" azz either. But putting my dislike for him personally to the side?: 1. Jordan Poole. NO SIR. 2. Darius Garland. NAH. 3. Jrue Holiday. MERCH. 4. Damian Lillard. I GUESS?? 5. Cade Cunningham. NO. 6. Jalen Brunson. MAYBE. 7. Trae Young. THERE IS YOUR CASE! Trae is the only one playing even close to Lamelo's level. They ain't out here creating like that.
Liangelo was never good enough to make it on his own. And then when he killed his chance to prove himself by the ucla situation and then going overseas in lituthania and sucking there too. Imo there’s thousands of hoopers globally who can play the 10+ man on an nba team. U r very replaceable so even a small mistake like stealing something small will and honestly should cut NBA career short if u don’t got atleast important role player talent the moment u step into the league (regardless of age). If he wants to play he’s gonna be a role or bench player in an overseas league. It won’t be fun for him. He can just live off his family and girl and do his own entrepreneurial thing and play pickup when he wnats
In 99% of all alternative realities, gelo is an nba bench player with a long career. He did as much wrong as he could (off the court) and had as much bad luck as one could have to not be an nba player and still was at one point officially an nba player lol.
Hes def at risk for serious depression given his older and younger brother made it. Hopefully his family is supportive of him and understand that not everyones journey is your journey.

I still dont get why tf he would steal? Rich parents, a brother in the nba, was an nba prospect himself and did it in one of the worst situations and worst countries to shoplift in. Why?
I’ve always had a theory that he was afraid of being exposed at UCLA. And that was his way out. Maybe he thought he wasn’t good enough
exposed to what
@@mr.benzelwashington Being a bad player. Not good enough to even start at UCLA
@@Utahtruckguy bro he got arrested before his first game at ucla..and ucla was in support of him when he got locked up.
@@mr.benzelwashington his brother is a multi millionaire, his dad is a multi millionaire. He has no reason to steal glasses
Maybe if he were the taller brother it would helped but the gap between Gelo and a 10 year vet is about as wide as between me and a G league starter
if his dad was lebron he'd be in the nba now.
Sounds like LeBron is doing something right.
He chose LV over his basketabll career.
Lonzo was not at all the most hyped draft pick since Lebron 😂😂😂 ridiculous to say that about anyone that isn’t the number 1 draft pick.
I never liked Lavar Ball… His brash personality bothered me. But, lots of respect… As a dad, he did right by his boys and set them up well to get into the NBA. Sadly for Lonzo, he can’t stay healthy. Still rooting for Lonzo
D'angelo is a sacrifice. If you guys don't understand the universe that's what he is to his family. He isn't going to be a star because the other two brothers are and something happened to his family but it didn't go all the way through so he is the sacrifice. That's the way the universe works. In every family that has a lot of money and a lot of things they have a sacrifice. Look it up
and hes still better off than most of us at the end of the day
Yet you’re still here watching a video about him
Great job man. Learned a lot.
He's a really good shooter- NBA has a lot of talent. NBA should expand.
This is kind of sad. In my view, he was the best player out of the three. I do believe he would have been playing in the NBA right now if it had not been for the horrible choice in Chine that ruined his future in the NBA.
i dont like lamelo but come on
DKM cooked yet again with this review of the Ball Brothers and Gelo
You kinda sound like Ali productions. I was waiting for the ball hate to start 😭
I miss him. He made the best anti Ball brothers videos I've ever seen. I enjoyed hating them with him.
@ we both miss him bro
This guy should come to Australia (like LaMelo) and ball the heck out then hope to get drafted to the NBA next year!
Were those glasses worth it ?
What people tend to forget about this dude is that he had a shoplifting scandal in China. He got bailed out by trump(president at the time). The scandal destroyed his reputation and got kicked out of UCLA.😂 not the brightest of the ball brothers
The title can be answered in two words, no need for a 20 minute video. He sucks.
If that lil yn didn't steal those glasses in China he would've been a menace in the NBA 😢
That's a lame excuse
Gelo said this week on podcasts that he was still waiting for G league call
He should have stayed in school to improve his game. The transition to the NBA is not automatic.
Swiping some designer glasses overseas messed up fam whole situation 🤷🏾♂️
Damn DKM to see you switch it up from hating on gelo to actually realizing you was wrong and being mam enough to make it right Bravo !! 👏🏾 Gelo really is like that he just being doing stupid shit
Hope you and lavar finally patch it up G
He has nobody to blame for his current situation but himself. 🤷 It's his fault he decided to shoplift in China and ruin his college career and it was his fault he decided to leave the Hornets organization when he did.
He should of went overseas when he left UCLA. Melo played overseas and it helped him develop & get drafted in the NBA, although Melo was was getting drafted regardless. Gelo went long periods not hooping on a pro level, he put a lot of hope into the G League when he should of played pro overseas were he could get lots of minutes & show off his game for NBA scouts
It was tough seeing Gelo with the Swarm. They messed with his playing time and when he was playing the guards weren't passing him the ball
He didn't pass the ball either
Liamgelos waiting for a g league call when he was already in the g league on the best possible team, the Hornets….
Remember when Donald Trump had to save Liangelo from going to prison in China because he didn't have enough self control to not shoplift.
Great video man. Was a sad watch but I'm sure Gelo is just fine - in his eyes he probably did the most he could under each given circumstance and seems happy. One final plot twist in the story - Gelo's kid becomes better than Melo and take the Ball family MVP and plays with his uncle in his 25th season...
they mostly played in lithuanian second league , and had lots of exibition games there againts youth teams of the actual teams
But a NBA talent he’s not, he’s slow, can’t dribble, and he’s not athletic, Everyone can’t go 🤷♂️
He got a 41 inch vert, and he shoots. Ain't about flash and aw, you could get to your place and shoot you're good
@@yourewelcomeshorts5067he is almost 30 3 kids and no carter

This is heartbreaking. He should be out there competing
Steal from yourself if you should steal .
He got Middle child JCole energy for his siblings 😂💯🤭🔥🔥
Gelo was good enough to play in the NBA to me. The China incident messed him up big time.
Gelo need to be a full time podcast and rapper.
neither pls
@@sku36 Well he need to something instead of being lazy
@@rapgodreloaded9259 i heard they allways look for bricklayers, he got some experience there i think...
Gelo is almost 30 years old 3 kids girl on the way he isn’t a rapper 😂
If he can get in shape and expand on his game outside of the 3pt shot he could be a problem
Dude could not hit 3's consistently in the G and was unable to rebound or create his own shot. He isn't a problem for any actual NBA level competition
ya a problem for shang hai shark defense
That's a big IF
They play better defense in the g league @@1jn
He should focus on simply being a 3 and D guy, and he can have a job somewhere
If he gave it up , it's all good. He has done a lot already for basketball.
Great video DKM
Gelo messed up with that shoplifting incident when he was at UCLA. He wasn't a one and done, but if he played at UCLA for maybe 3 years, he could have had a real shot at the NBA as a bench guy.
LiAngelo still twice as good as Le-Bronny
Nah, LiAngelo isn’t any better
LiAngelo Ball put in the effort but an unwise (in hindsight) decision or two, circumstances beyond his control (COVID) and a nagging injury bug perhaps mean never reached the top level. Another year at UCLA could’ve helped a lot. It’s much more visible than the JBL.
However, if he is now providing for his family and putting family first then he is should be applauded.
We’ll see how the James kid does going forward.
Melo be coming clutch with the parlays
Melo is not arguably the best PG in the eastern conference, 1 minute in and your credibility is already in question. 1:12
Who is?
you are BUGGING.... I don't like his ignorant "Michigan is in Detroit" azz either. But putting my dislike for him personally to the side?:
He going to hornet's soon
Anytime I see Li wearing 🕶️ 🤔
LiAngelo should be in the league
In 99% of all alternative realities, gelo is an nba bench player with a long career. He did as much wrong as he could (off the court) and had as much bad luck as one could have to not be an nba player and still was at one point officially an nba player lol.
13:55 camera angle goes crazy, making Lonzo look 6’10
That incident over seas was blown way out of context. But we all know why
Hes def at risk for serious depression given his older and younger brother made it. Hopefully his family is supportive of him and understand that not everyones journey is your journey.
He need to find something different to do. His family is wealthy enough to help him out. If he became depressed, I'd feel 0 sympathy for him. There's others out here truly struggling.
@@younglove3362yet your here 😂🤡
Dkm can’t make no money without talking about the ball bros 🤣🤣🤣
He went months without mentioning LaMelo or any of the Ball members
He used to make ball content before so not sure what you’re tryna say?
You could make a video about how melo has been balling but instead you come with a hater point of view and bash his brother who we all know would do 10x better than bronny. Showing love goes a long way grandson make better decisions
Such as dumb ass content, a vast majority of it his content isn’t even about the ball brother; euroleague
Even talking about ball bros he can't make money....not sure what your point is?
Gelo is rich. He doesn't need to play pro overseas to make money, and he doesn't want to make the NBA badly enough to play overseas. So he is a podcaster.
no his brothers are rich, he's a brokie
he’s rich how his brothers are rich
He has a kid. What's the point of going overseas if it's not a hundred percent shot? He been grinding for nearly a decade. He has a son, he can invest fully and vet him In the NBA
God works in ways like that
How he get rich? Or do you mean his family rich?
I knew about the shoplifting controversy, but I never knew Gelo had this much bad luck
Gelo had some unlucky moments, but I hope he can turn things around. I just wish he didn't steal those glasses in China. The crazy thing is he was loaded at the time too!
Moral of the story. Don’t steal
Ever since the china situation of gel stealing those glasses at the Louis Vuitton stores and Almost got 3-10 years to prison he ruin career to have a defender career at ucla or the nba and ruin he’s career since the beginning
Nobody cares about that situation anymore. That was so long ago. There’s players on the league right now that have done worse. People keep blaming that situation like he never got another opportunity to go to the nba
Teams knew everything they needed to know when he was caught stealing. That says volumes about someone's character and work ethic.
How are you gonna judge a kid making dumb choices?
Because he's not good enough.
Bronny vs Gelo 1v1 for a roster spot. 😂
Cmon you know gelo would slaughter him
He was never gonna stay at UCLA for 4 years no matter what!
