      @@greggreenwood4628 kindly feature about soldering with copper? Can i use a copper solder , not silver solder? I'm not sure i can get a lower temp copper as solder. Thanks very much.

    • @greggreenwood4628
      @greggreenwood4628  3 года назад +1

      Hello Java Pua, It is difficult to get a copper colored solder. I use silver solder and make sure the pieces fit perfectly so the solder seam does not show. You can also liver of sulfur your copper pieces and this helps hide the silver solder. I hope this helps you. Greg Greenwood

    Greg you are a thorough teacher. How do you keep patina from rubbing off? Thanks for your videos- Dianne

    • @greggreenwood4628
      @greggreenwood4628  3 года назад +2

      Thank you Dianne, I appreciate your comment. As for the patina. On Sterling silver, the oxidation (dark areas ) will normally not rub off. They will continue to darken and you need to buff or steel wool them to make them bright again. As of copper, brass, bronze. once you have the patina you want, you can spray them with clear lacquer or clear polyurethane. Keep on watching. Good Luck Greg Greenwood

    Thanks so much for a brilliant video Greg. I have a reasonably good skill set but lack experience and have no design training. This and your other design video on 3 & 4D dimension have really inspired and given me the confidence to start having a go at design work. So much better than churning out basic bezels, rings pendants etc. Do you have any more ‘how to design’ or ‘design development’ videos in the pipeline?

    What buffing machine would you recommend? In your video I saw the Rouge polish you used for the silver; what would you use for copper? Thank you!

    • @greggreenwood4628
      @greggreenwood4628  2 года назад +1

      Hello Crazy Info, I recommend the buffing machine that you can afford. Most are very good at what they do. So, buy a 2 speed motor and get what you can afford. I recommend that you watch 3 of my videos. "Jewelry Buffs & Compounds", "Jewelry Polishing Machine & Dust Collection", and "Age Old Low Tech Polishing & Buffing Techniques". These will give you great pointers on the machines and compounds to use. You can use any of the compounds on copper as well as silver. Check out those videos. It will help. Thanks for your questions. Good Luck. Greg Greenwood
