      In my opinion, it’s better to niche down and pick one thing to “specialize” in. Sure, a Zillow tour would probably be just as easy to do as a Matterport, but I *usually* don’t provide new services until I see demand for them in my market, and I haven’t seen anyone getting them too much here.

Do you use an editor for your videos as well as your stills or are you taking care of that side; many seem to offer a longer timeframe for delivering that? Also do you ever combine a flash shot that may help the editor with windows or color. Don't seem to get so many bright California properties here in the North East. Thank you.

    I'd love to see a how-to video on how you've been so successful at mastering your "who cares, it is just photos" into a career as a photographer. Only one work-flow question comes to mind while watching: Does he swallow or spit in the sink while dipping tobacco during a shoot?

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn  24 дня назад

      Haha, I will admit this got a good chuckle from me.
      I’m guessing you’re a regular photographer, who then either got into real estate or is wanting to.
      For real estate photography specifically, after a couple hundred houses, then to a couple thousand, the process becomes identical. After about 20 houses, I’d say, you’ll start to lock down the process and realize that it truly is as simple as setting the camera down and taking a photo.
      While photos are important, yes, where you’ll make the bulk of your money is in your add ons like video, drone, virtual tours, floor plans, etc.
      I know you were simply trying to be mean and post a witty comment, but I can tell you don’t have the experience that comes with years upon years of doing this; so I thought I’d outline something helpful.
      And on the flip side, if you want to take an hour doing just photos for $200, more power to you. But when I have 7 services to get through, it becomes overarchingly about the overall average quality of the sum of services, rather than every single service being incredible.
      Have a good day, and happy holidays, my friend. I truly hope that whatever internal conflict you’re going through is eased during this time of family and thankfulness as 2024 comes to an end.
      All the best, Jordan. (PS, I’d spit it in the sink)

      Most realtors go for HDR

    Great video! I’d love to get into this stuff. Do you ever have to stage the property or do you just let them know to leave it in good shape? I’m sure you move things around a little for compositions but just wonder how much “cleaning” is involved 😂
    Edit - I’m only 5 mins in so maybe you cover that later. Sorry if you do 😄

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn  10 месяцев назад +2

      I never stage! That becomes a slippery slope that leads to agents not preparing the property. I have a pre shoot checklist that goes over additional fees and such, but it basically says “the house is going to be shot as is”.

    • @reallyjordanhorn
      @reallyjordanhorn  10 месяцев назад

      Pricing is mainly driven by market competition. If the range for photos, for example, is between $150-$300 for photos, then you want to ideally land somewhere in the middle once you’re comfortable with your results. Obviously you don’t want to be the highest priced in your area, but you definitely don’t want to be the lowest.
      So market research is first and foremost, and then just what your clients are willing to pay.
      I’ve been in it for 4 years.

    Hi Jordan, i like your and enjoy your videos most of the time.. BUT!! Photography is the pinnacle of real estate marketing followed by floorplans and than video.. @reallyjordanhorn  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hey thanks for swinging by!
      Yes, I do agree. But once you have your eye trained, there’s no reason to spend more than 5 seconds on a photo for a regular non luxury listing. You can instinctively know what photo will be good and what won’t be. I think all the services are important, but with interior photography and videography being equal but for different marketing methods. Photos for the MLS, video for attracting people on different channels to go to the MLS, then ultimately to go to a showing.
      Thanks for watching!
