Excellent video as always Nathan. I would have been stressed because I know how challenging that house would be. I live in an area with several large houses, high ceilings, a lot of dark stone, red/yellow/orange natural wood and dark wooden floors. This video will definitely help me. Very useful video as usual. If you shoot with warm lights on do you leave some of the warm color in for ambience, or do you consider it more important to capture the actual wall color?
Wow I just went through this recently. Thanks for the info as always Nathan. I used an Xplor 600 Pro in a Lantern similar to the umbrella with great results but I wonder if I wouldn't need quite the power if I used my AD200's with the shoot through umbrella. The lantern required 1/2 to full power shots I guess due to transmission loss. I'll have to experiment. Also wondering if my Godox AD S17 Wide Angle Soft Focus Shade Diffuser would be the same as the Magmod thingy??

Hey Nathan, your videos are great, I have invested in you books on Amazon also.. just a great amount of information to learn.. just out of curiosity, that aerial in you last video was stunning, I thought I remember you saying in other videos that you source the drone work. Do you know what drone was used to take that aerial?

Thanks Nathan. Curious why chose this set-up rather than AD600 and white reflector to bounce like you did in other videos (like the pumpkin house).
Great question: so that I have more hands free. If all I needed was one flash, maybe two, then a bounce reflector if there's enough room; otherwise, gotta put stuff on stands :)
Have you tried the MagBounce instead of the MagSphere? I think it might have an advantage because it is somewhat more directional.
Nathan - Great and informative as always. you videos have helped a lot. Wish I would have know this info what I started! Question - how much power does the AD200 put out, compared to say a Nikon SB910? Or are the closer to say a Mono light? Keep up the great work. ~MPM

Hi Nathan, I’ve spent the last couple days watching several of your videos and I’m curious about your ISO settings. I’m wondering why you wouldn’t drop your ISO to your lowest setting and compensate by increasing shutter speed (especially with the ambient shots)? I’m assuming maybe it’s to combat color casting from a longer shutter speed, but I could be wrong.

I have an old Gary Fong plastic modifier. Will it work similar to the MagMod?
Maybe...best bet in cases like this is to try it yourself at home and see how it compares to STU, bounce, etc.
what is the adapter piece you use to attach the umbrella to the stand? does it come with the umbrella or the ad400? or do you have to buy the adapter separately

Amazing Video!! Do you find the magmod affects white balance by about 500K?
I am using it for colored homes and often my colors seem more off then when I can bounce off white ceilings.
Thanks! Numerous things can affect temp and tint, modifiers are only the tip of the iceberg since bigger issues coupled with that relate to room colors and inevitable casts. Hi Nathan, what do I do when I photograph a villa with a Cana roof with flash, the image comes out very brown due to the bounce of the flash on the Cana roof, what can I do?
A assume you mean ceiling (interior) not roof (exterior)? If we're talking about inside, the same rules apply when you can't bounce, like I show in this video. What happens if you point the magmod sphere directly into the room for your flash layer?
Best way is to try it for yourself and see the results. It will vary depending on what angle the flash is pointed. However, the more you point the flash forward, the more it will look like you pointed a bare flash in that direction.
