Coming soon to a theater near you...
This is serial good content, I’m literally taking notes on your recommendations. Trying to adapt it to events photography
Glad you’re getting some value out of it! Thanks for the compliment :-)
new to the channel. Thank you for great advice!
Thanks for stopping by :-)
Amazing video, thanks for sharing those pearls :D
Thanks for watching!!
Another great video, Jordan!
Thank you, thank you :-) have you filled out that inquiry yet? Still looking at my email..
Not yet! Also, I'm liking your bundles/packages on your website. Very well put together!@@reallyjordanhorn
Incredible, helpful information!
Thank you for watching!
Great content, thank you!
Thanks for watching :-)
hey thanks so muchs for this, can you tell more about your process , for taking videos , photos and more, thanks
That’s kind of a broad question haha. Can you be more specific?
Hello Jordan! Awesome info. I was curious if you do everything yourself or you have a team that works with you?
Thanks for watching! I had a team, then shrunk down after crazy rate hikes, just now scaling up a team again!
I bet your hand was tired after this one, ha ha. Great video with some solid info! Thanks 🙏🏻
Haha, not as bad as grade school! I remember those horrible sore thumbs. I’m a whiteboard addict, so I’ve built up my muscles 💪
Thanks for your comment :-)
Soooo many of these channels. Im trying to get into the field but MAN i had no idea i needed the camera. I have gimble osmo 6 mini 3 pro, great pc for editing but no solid camera for the photos. Does no camera mean no chance at a job?
I mean, yes, you do need a camera and some gear in order to get this done. As with anything else, it takes a bit of investment in order to be able to make some money.
Realtors want to work with only one provider, they don’t want to call a bunch of different people, so the more services you can provide, the better
You talked about your website and your background in web design. (I looked at your site) do you use a site builder? That’s the one piece of the puzzle I don’t have started.
Hey; I use a Wordpress.org installation underneath an Elementor Pro front end design tool to actually put together the way the site looks.
I can help out if you need.
Watching this now and one question comes to mind about website creation....for the setup you are talking about, could a 'single page' WordPress theme work for the layout or might there be a specific theme you could recommend we...or I try? I've chewed through a few and just not been happy with the results.
I can’t give any recommendations for pre-built themes, other than my own custom site I built. I did use Wordpress, with the Hello Elementor theme and then built the custom page using Elementor Pro!
@@reallyjordanhorn Thanks for the reply. I'm narrowing down just what I want. I am surprised at some photographers lack of web presence and or the nonchalant position some have taken with their sites in this day and age.
The only clients that know you're new are the ones you tell. I don't see new house painters painting houses for free, new plumbers installing toilets for free, new doctors giving heart transplants for free or new house cleaners cleaning for free. If you're thinking doing it for free cause you might screw up well don't offer your services until you're confident you can deliver. I'm not saying free doesn't work. Maybe offer the $800 pkg at a discount for 1st time clients only? At least you get paid and the cst will see you as a professional instead of a beginner.
To each their own, I’m just providing my personal opinions and recommendations based on repeated success that I’ve been able to replicate for my students.
Thanks for your comment!
@@reallyjordanhorn No worries. I'm a fan even though my comment may not seem like it. I'm looking forward to more content from you. Can you do something on choosing a delivery platform like (HDPhotoHub , Spiro etc) for those that choose to outsource editing?
Most of the best real estate photographers agreed to offer the first shoot for free....and that has worked for them.....
@@rasecroel2366 How can you verify that "most" real estate photographers use this method? That would require that you interview photographers across the country to come to that conclusion. I would agree that some use this method. Free shoots is a method that works and I don't disagree that photographers are getting results. My point is how are other service based businesses able to get clients without giving away their services? How are other service based business able to figure out how to grow their businesses without free services and real estate photographers can't figure out how to do it?
Thats because real estate photography clients are returning clients, it is not a one time a year/ a decade service like in most of the examples you provided (plumbers, painters, surgeons etc). Why not give one service for free to get a paying client that will book you anywhere between 5-20 times a year?
How have I not found you yet!?
Haha, I don’t know! Welcome, anyways! Glad you’re here :)
Greate stuff
Thanks for watching!
@@reallyjordanhorn looking forward to our call tomorrow 👀
@@Rene203just got your email! Looking forward to it!!
I noticed that your Instagram bio mentions photography sessions for $199, but on your website, the minimum cost for the basic budget bundle is $499. Am I missing something, or is there a discrepancy? How do you explain to customers that the starting price is actually $499 and not $199?
Good looking out. That was out of pure forgetfulness on the Instagram front.
I’m not perfect, taking that off now 😂
That happens 😂
$150 is the average shoot in this area. Would take a lot to get to 20k.
That’s just for photos, no? I’d be keen to hear what area you’re in, and try to add on additional services. I have a hard time wrapping my head around if $150 was for photos, videos, aerial, floor plans, etc.
@@reallyjordanhorn Just photos. South Florida. Sometimes I get drone or virtual tour. Not much add ons.
Best website platform to schedule bookings and send invoices?
Hey! Unfortunately, in my opinion, there’s no one tool that does it all perfectly. I use Calendly to schedule shoots and send automated follow ups and reminders, HDPhotoHub to deliver and get paid immediately for the materials, and Wave Accounting to send invoices to clients that are on Net30 terms.
Hope that helps!
What is your photography website?
Shoot me a DM on Instagram @reallyjordanhorn
Hi, can I have a look at your website thank you for making this video
Sure thing! Shoot me a DM on Instagram @reallyjordanhorn
Can you make some videos for real estate video editing/?
Sure thing! I made one already, but can you let me know exactly what you're looking to achieve? That might help me tailor my videos to what someone wants to see specifically. Here's the video I made: ruclips.net/video/Y7jHO4Ai50c/видео.html
Specifically how to keep the viewers attention for re drone videos
@@PropertyClicksMedia Hmm, how to keep their intentions indeed. Okay, I'll see what I come up with! Keep a look out :)
Who taught you real estate photography? Woody Herrelson. JK 🤣
I don’t get the joke!! Fill me in!! This is weird because some random lady at the grocery store literally TODAY told me I looked like Woody Harrelson and I have never heard that before in my life so I’m tripping out haha.
@@reallyjordanhorn LOL. You do, man. You look like him. I figured you have probably heard that before.

lies lies lies... I am a real estate photographer in NYC, and one of the best. Trust me, this is not a realistic video.
Thanks for your comment! Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions.
Miami Here and a really hot/lux market .. no way this is real . this guy is such a poser
@@samarianosansyou’re entitled to your opinions, but just because someone else makes more money than you, doesn’t immediately make them a poser. If you’re already in a hot market, there’s no excuse as to why you’re not making more.

being a good photographer isnt what helps you in this business, being a good businessman is. :)
@@ulyssezbinden9443 you nailed it
I call BS... your AOV is not 1000.00
Different markets have different prices.
Here is my average order services alongside their pricing, and keep in mind this is base price up to 2000 sqft:
Photos $199
Listing video: $349
Aerial photos & video: $300
Floor plan: $125
Virtual tour: $249 base ($0.15 per square foot)
I was being conservative with the $1000 average listing revenue. It’s more like $1,200.
Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment!
again, no way your AVERAGE order value is 1200.00. No Ones Average order is basically all services! Stop lying to people on youtube trying to get people to be coached by you. especially since almost everything you say is taken from a proven reputable source.
@@reallyjordanhorn
@@reallyjordanhornman I'd love to be in your market! Here in the Midwest we don't have that, here is my last shoot (and it was in the higher end)
Pictures @ 3600 Sq ft - $275
Drone land photography @ 14 acres - $100
Video - $275
Travel fee - $47.60 ($0.56/M)
Total - $697.60
@@blixtnoand if you upsold a floor plan and virtual tour and a listing website, you would have been at near $1000 mark!
My market is SMALL. I do not live in a big area at all. Opportunity is limited. I’d much rather live in an area that had higher volume opportunities and make a tad less per listing because I could supplement with more work.
That being said I am lazy and like working 10-20 hours a week at the maximum lol!
I feel that if you offer something for free, you're already lowering your value. It can't be that great if it's for free... What was that saying? "You get what you pay for."
Thanks for your comment! I respect your sentiment, but I must vehemently disagree. If you are trying to gain clients that already have a provider, then they have no incentive to even give you a shot. If you're confident in your skills and ability to provide a superior service, then it is within your wheelhouse to take a risk in order to prove your value. I do agree that in some respects, just saying "I'll give you a free shoot" may convey a low value, but that's why it's so important to focus on the way that you reach out to these potential clients and offer this value at no risk to them.
The method is simple - if they like the work and want it again, then the expectation is that they become your paid client. If you, however, do not back your confidence up with skill and fantastic customer service, then you don't deserve the new client.
Furthermore, if your potential client is wary of the idea, citing the same concern you have "you get what you pay for", then it's entirely up to the offerer of the free value to prove their materials are worth paying for.
Edit: The alternative is sitting idly by and not reaching out to get new clients, and just relying on people finding you. That's all well and good if you want to take years to grow a real estate photography business, but if you want it fast, then you have to get creative.
What was that saying? "No risk, no reward."
Have a good day :-)
