Epic review Patriot Prime!!!!! It amazes me that Rodimus Prime remains one of the only, if only the exact only Transformers character to have an RV for an alt mode. Keep on being amazing.
Always wished i had this as a kid. Was the biggest hotrod fan. However if my mom had bought it, then another character would just be the one i wished i had gotten. Lol
Thanks for this excellent review PPR. Its been great to see how the toy has evolved over the years, just watched Prime vs Prime's review of the Kingdom version of this guy, and I really enjoyed your review of the G1 toy. Loved the G1 toy back in 86, despite being a orange and red brick. I must look our for this guy on eBay. Thanks again
Oh my gaawwwd!!!! Rodimus looks like a pimped out Space El Camino without the trailer attached. Never had friends that had Rodimus, so this is new territory for me!!
Oh the memories of this fig. I don't think we ever saw Rodimus trailer in alt form in show but gladly be corrected on that. Great review. Making me want the upcoming Commander class updated one even more.
I know I'm late to the party but great video as always. I actually didn't mind Rodimus Prime as a kid & when I was a young Marine & totally understood his situation more so, especially after my 1st deployment to Iraq (Spring Break 2003). I personally don't see an RV in his vehicle mode. Guess it's because I actually know & wrench on cars/trucks (hence my name). Since I have been collecting TFs as of late, I noticed that MOST (not all) TF collectors DO NOT like to "listen" to facts & get super offensive when facts are presented in a cordial manner. i.e Rodimus Prime is a concept of a 60's GM Bison, getting upset about bootlegs being called for what they are bootlegs, using words out of context (3rd party/counterfeit), & etc. Keep up the good work brother & stay frosty.
Glad to finally see you tackle Rodimus. I always loved this toy. It's the toy I fiddle with the most and he has a simple but fun transformation and the trailer does add a bit more fun to the guy. LOL, Mr. Magoo eyes. I'm not that old, but boi, I did get the reference. 😂 And LOL, plastic Roddy got tumbled. 😆
Not the first time I dropped a figure off the Review area. This one cracked me up because he hit the side of the trash can, then the floor, missing the rug, and making the most noise as possible.
Awesome review. I was in love with that figure alone with Hotrod from that first commercial introducing them as 5 year old whose birthday was coming a few weeks before the release of the movie. So you know what 2 figures I wanted for my birthday. Then comes my 6th bithday one of the most disappointing days of my life. Instead getting Rodimus Prime and Hotrod I got Gobots instead. No just any Gobots at that no I get stupid Rocklords. It was not until 2002 or 2003 till I was able to get Rodimus Major and I missed out on getting Rodimus Prime. I got married in 2004 and my wife in those early years I did not want to expose my wife to my nerdom lol. Then a couple of years ago I had the Transformer itch got Hotrod from Walmart and Rodimus Prime from ebay could be a KO I don't care just as long as I finally had one after 30 years waiting.
I just found your channel. Awesome content. I am an 80's kid who grew up watching Transformers on TV as a kid. I have an original Optimus & Ultra-Magnus. My son's who are 17, 18 & 19 bought me a Rodimus Prime off EBay and it is the 1986 edition. Unfortunately, it didn't come with any accessories including the tail fin, but I was so blown away that they heard me when I was talking about Rodimus and how I always wanted one. It was truly a spectacular, heartfelt gift.
i have rodimus and hot rod they are my favorate hot rod in car mode he looks like a 1992 saturn c2 the shape of that car even the front looks like hot rod, i love them...
Brick: yes. I still love this figure tho... Just something about how tall and lean the robot is... Gotta love the space camper mode too! Nice vid, thx!
Perfect review of an ok figure of a great character. And yes, both your age and my age showed when I understood your Mr. Magoo reference. Keep it up, 10kbyTFCon
Nice to see Rodimus in the flesh. My friends ani never wanted him. Probably do to his role in The Movie. As I matured I felt Hasbro “stole” HotRod’s youth by forcing him to become leader without experience. But the whole debacle was noticed by other franchises and Duke survived in GI Joe. Still a very interesting video. Always enjoy yur vids.
I had three Rodimus Primes growing up, one or two had the rubber wheels. I was never a fan of his vehicle mode though, I never got a normal Hot Rod until that first new figure he got in, what was it? Universe? Generations? I got a few other variations over the years from other lines but I finally got a G1 Hot Rod a few years ago, a reissue, and gotta say he still holds up too.
I wish the new rodiums came like this instead of making him have both rod & HotRod Alt modes as the trailer for rodiums had plenty of room to make him fit his legs under it! But over all best rodiums to come out that’s true to this toy & toon!
I say it before and i repeat it now how amazing condition he is the looks stunning man P.s:good reference with mr magoo Xd my family call my grandpa like that
Awesome review of a cool looking brick! 😅 I STILL have my original G1 Rodimus Prime from when I was a kid... Got him on Christmas morning that year, which was usually when I'd get the vast majority of my Transformers & GI Joes, at least as far as the bigger figures went... I'm curious now though, to see whether mine was plastic or rubber wheels version. (I'm guessing plastic, BUT maybe not... Rubber wheels ARE possible, especially since my G1 METROPLEX has rubber wheels... Unfortunately, my G1's are in storage at my parents home, so I can't go look NOW, lol...) I know it's common place to refer to his alt mode as a "Space Winnebago" (Spaceballs, LOL😆😅😅), and I often DO... But I read somewhere recently that his alt. mode was/is actually based on a real world vehicle design from back in the day. I couldn't tell you WHAT that might have been, but since they picked the guy who KILLED Optimus Prime to become the new Autobot leader, THAT was probably the closest vehicle design they had available to upgrade into for his Prime mode... While I had Rodimus as a kid, I NEVER had Optimus Prime's killer, as a G1 figure... UNTIL I got the recent G1 re-issue figure for cheap at Wally World. Now, I can display them together. Even cooler though, I have the Classics HOT Rod, along WITH the 3rd Party Fans Project Protector Armor trailer upgrade set, and man is that thing cool! THAT has been my go to Rodimus for YEARS now... And it even has its own little "hot rod" version of Roller. It's cool to think, and especially to SEE, how SO MANY of those cool/lame G1 bricks have inspired such awesome and fun new figures AND upgrades with so many of the toy versions we see these days! Some ARE better than others, of course, but even so, look where they all originated, and then look at what's coming out NOW...!! Excellent G1 review, brother! HOOO-AH!!!
I got Rodimus...I was majorly disapointed. he just seemed cheap the trailer was just a joke..he was way too thin and scrawny... but I have him still with box...
I always secretly hated those kids, who had two of everything growing up. I'll give you a pass this time. Only because of the hilarious off camera sound effects. Its ok. The floor broke his fall I'm sure. lmao I dunno. Rodimus was never really a favorite of mine tbh. I liked Hotrod more. But...... Then again. I'm weird. Of the 86 Autobots, I always liked Kup the most. Don't hate me because I'm different.
Hasbro has Commander Class Rodimus Prime on the way. From what I saw, he's got everything the G1 never had: excellent articulation (with articulated fingers!) and a proper vehicle form without the trailer. The trailer has a few improvements, like the detachable gun emplacement and a slew of C.O.M.B.A.T. ports. He even comes with the Sword of Primus (from the Regeneration One comics)!
You forgot to mention the appearance of Rodimus in Re-regeneration one in the Marvel Commics! That is the BEST G1 Rodimus EVER!!! I hated Rodimus when he was a kid, now I don´t. I think he is a really good character. Still my favorite version of him is the Re-generation one comic version! He is Great! So cool Optimus knew he was next in line to be leader and Primus rushed his accession to Leadership!
I never mention newer comics in my G1 Reviews. G1 to me is 1984 to 1989 and I only go over the media representing the figure from that era. That being said, Re-Gen was a great follow up.
I hate the fact that everyone hates on Rodimus. he doesn't deserve the hate, I won't say he is the best leader ever but he was a relatively good one.
He was made to sell a new toy, and was born from the ignorance of the Marketing in how much people cared about Optimus Prime. His design is cool.
Really good review. Just a side note. Rodimus Prime's vehicle mode is actually a futuristic space truck based on the GM Bison.
Nice, I learned something new.
Thanks..."Till all are one."
Makes sense. Hot Rod was a concept car, Rodimus Prime is a concept truck.
Lol
It's so good to see how much action figure engineering has changed through years!
While also keeping the silhouettes of predecessors! I saw the thumbnail and orig mistook it for kingdom for half a moment.
Thanks for this excellent review PPR. In the ReGen comics Rodimus was a badass.
Oh my gaawwwd!!!! Rodimus looks like a pimped out Space El Camino without the trailer attached.
Never had friends that had Rodimus, so this is new territory for me!!
I'm glad you put him next to Optimus prime. He doesn't look so bad. I always thought he was smaller and cheaper but no he's bigger!
Was always one of my favourites
Wow you [put the thigh stickers on Hot Rod]? You're braver than I thought!
Oh the memories of this fig.
I don't think we ever saw Rodimus trailer in alt form in show but gladly be corrected on that.
Great review.

Great review patriot prime!!
G1 Rodimus toy has grown on me over years. It’s mostly a brick, but so is most of the transformer line.
Still think that the original G1 Rodimus Prime has the best, most accurate alt mode. Love it.
Awesome review of a very cool character and G1 toy. I still need to pick one up for my G1 collection. Thanks for sharing buddy
Thanks for watching!
@@PatriotPrimeReviews It has been a pleasure my friend
I was lucky to have found the Commemorative Series VII release for $10 at Tuesday Morning; still have to pick up a proper G1 Hot Rod sometime
Yes, G1's for the most part were bricks with arms. An I love em. Thanks for sharing.
Right on
Low key when I saw the thumbnail I thought you had the wfc rodimus

"You can't judge a RUclips video by the Thumbnail" LOL
