It seems that most doctors don't do this (I guess because insurance doesn't cover it). Is there a lobby to change this? If this can help patients even with deep vein insufficiency/reflux then it would be prudent for insurance companies to approve it. Right now I am waiting for Medicare to approve a pump and it is like pulling teeth. The peripheral veins have already been ablated but they cannot touch the deep veins as it would be too dangerous. I'm still having edema in my lower legs and sometimes feet along with some discoloration over my heel and lower calf diagonally. My vascular clinic is kind at a loss as to how to prevent it from continuing to progress.
