Thanks Lee for this video and giving me another way to keep my soon to come Raspberry Pi V cool.
Have a great day!
For the NVME Boards that need to make contact with the GPIO pins, You can make use of Jumper cables (male/female) to connect them to the Pi 5 GPIO Pins, without any problems... so basicly, you should be able to connect all the boards you got, outside a case or further away from the board.
I wish I had longer cables like the 5 and 8 cm... gonna see where and if they are available in the Netherlands.
I got the 52Pi No 4 board on my Pi and planning to install the Waveshare USB 3.2 HUB to it aswell...via the GPIO Edge connector(2x40-pins) extender.
Thanks for sharing, I just started in the Pi world and your videos are very helpful. I'll try that setup; my current one gets pretty hot watching youtube videos (83 degrees Celsius) with the Geekworm P579, X1001, and the official Pi 5 fan.
Grab yourself an sdcard extension cable
i would have tried to keep invme inside, but this way looks really good
Just ordered a couple of official nvme hats the foundation announced today. I've no real need for the additional speeds but at 12 quid it feels worth it
Thanks for the interesting video. Which OS are you using there? I like the look of your KDE setup.

@@leepspvideo Cheers!
@@gklinger Also available as an option in PINN OS (though not for Pi5 yet)
Very interesting. Think I might have to go this route as I need access to the nvme drives without having to dismantle everything. My setup for my pi 5 is mainly for torrenting.
Good video. Nice results. I'm really enjoying my pi 5, pimoroni nmve m.2 shield coupled to a crucial 1tb w/ an argon large black heat sink. No micro sd card and io results are comparable to yours. The little thing looks completely retro and similar to a dual operon server build i put together 20 years ago but smaller. i picked up two Upperizon 18.5 slim monitors for it as well. Nice little learning system.
if i would really like to see a review on current power sources from you. Many things I've learned about the pi i learned from watching your channel. I bought a LIMETA 200W 5-in-1 USB C Charging Station(140W Max), PD 3.1 Wall Charger Adapter as the 3rd usb type c rail specifically listed the port as capable of 5v 5a with a 100w cable. Also the more I read it seems there are a lot of folks confused or concerned about the pi 5 power requirements.
Yes, when I was checking out the Pi5 while waiting for delivery , I was ‘confused” about the power requirements.
So I fell back on First Principles…
RTFM
I am no longer ‘confused’. Amazing how that works.
I have seen an SD card slot expansions ribbon cable, so you could buy one of those and mount your SD on the outside as well

Neat solution
To make the microSD card reader easier to access, what about a short microSD to SD card adapter cable. That would allow you to position it closer to the gap for easier access?
Hi - could have tried the GeekPi N10 "Tiny" NMVe card - mounted vertically ?
Why not use an SD Card slot extender to put your card outside with your NVMe? I
Are there true pcie cables rather than ribbons? Then they would be flexible and provide many more options for mounting.
I haven’t seen any
Got no single gpio cables? Could use them or a really short gpio ribbon cable to help with compatibility for the other nvme boards
I have many, it’s easier for me to use one of the boards I have that don’t need gpio pins connected
Fair play
Can you use the longest cable on pimoroni adapter???
I haven’t got one to try
With the IPO, are you concerned about the direction of Raspberry Pi and what it could mean for your channel? You should come up with a plan B just in case.
I’m not concerned.

Please Reply Can I install React OS, Ubuntu OS and other minimum requirement OS on Raspberry Pi Zero W and Raspberry Pi Zero W 2 ?

Raspberry Pi Zero 2W. First time setup. Far better performance with Zram.

Or just buy the Argon NEO 5 M.2 NVMe PCIe case.
Removing 4 screws to replace an nvme drive was something I was trying to avoid. I predict than fan will be noisy compared to the ice tower fan. Although I haven’t tried it.
@@leepspvideo I see. I don't like fans at all. RPi can easily be cooled passively.
@@3dhYT the case you recommended has a fan. The ice tower cooler is effective without the fan, most of the time it’s not running or running slowly. You can remove it from the heatsink
@@leepspvideo Yes, I know it has a fan, but it's the only case with NVMe. For myself, I would choose a passively cooled case.
Beautiful case, totally destroyed by this bodge 😂
