I totally dug their rendition of this mellow classic. I came to hear some Jazz melodica and was treated to some excellent sax, with a superb backup ensemble. Kudos to all!
Its no telling how many times I've listened to all of you play this song! So fricken outstanding!!! I play every instrument that you have in your band. My wife bought me for Christmas a melodica, congas, Chromonica C64, african thumb piano. Now I have 117 instruments in my collection! Gosh I just love that walking bass, and melodica. The girl on the keyboard, and the drummer, outstanding also!!! Fantastic playing!!! Can I be your very own groupie???
Absolutely a fantastic sound. I love that walking bass pattern! The one playing melodica and sax totally rocks also, and so pretty! Hell, the entire band kicks butt... I can listen to you all night! I play alto and soprano sax myself. I just bought 14 different harmonicas, a set of congas and bongos, and about to get a melodica!!! My keyboards are the Casio Digital Workstation with the Hammond organ style drawbars, and the Yamaha Digital Piano. I also have a REAL Hammon organ with Leslie Speaker. I live close to New Orleans, and jazz is just our way of life down here. I very much appreciate the sound. You ladies are fantastic!!! I absolutely love the sound!!!
Because of Peggy being so awesome on walking bass it prompted me to buy another bass guitar today. Once I get my left hand strength up I'll learn every single note she plays. I started learning walking bass at the age of 10, but played all instruments for a rock or jazz band, and still do. Also, due to Peggy, I am ordering the hardware to build a big electric double bass. It will cost about $150+ for parts, strings, tuners, pickups, ect... and will build it out of oak wood. The top will have the traditional violin scroll. I've been an instrument maker and repairman all my life. The last instrument I made was two steel guitars. Now I must have an electric double bass. I have 200+ instruments in my collection. I play all types of music except country n western, and don't even consider rap as music, its NOISE to me! Its for ones with zero talent anyhow! Then for Courtney, I play soprano and alto sax, and even melodica. Then I have 10 keyboards and 2 leslie speakers. I have also, 3 Alesis electronic drumsets mounted on one stand... 33 pads to hit, and 6 foot pedals for bass and highhat! When I finish the double bass I will post a video!
This is in Dallas, Texas. The band is Girls Night Out, led by the bass player, Peggy Honea. Peggy and I were in high school together. Saxophone Barbie is Courtney Guyoi, who lives in the area.

oh they’re all female?! 😯
They're all musicians! And they are great. That's what matters.
Lame audience, they should have shown more appreciation, especially after the melodica solo.
