hi sandra di, your video are very inspiring .I too have shop in @esty by name of strokelines in home décor items. find difficult to sale my product. can u help us to grow are business.

hello there sandra, I'm trying to figure out how to have different formats for the same picture. For example to have a jpeg, svg and some others... to have one listing for sale with these different formats available for the customer. I only intend to sell digital downloads for the customer, I'll be selling wildlife photography:) can you give me some help please or do you have a video about this that I've missed?
8:53 "If any of your products don't sell, take that as feedback, not as a failure." I feel like the concept behind that statement is actually applicable as a life lesson, not just in business. Too often in real life, when we don't see the immediate results we were hoping for (weight loss, asking someone out, choosing a major, etc.), we tend to take that as a personal failing on our part and give up, when in reality, we only need to make a course correction or simply stick it out a bit longer.
You are absolutely right about that. Honestly well said. This definitely applies to life in general and we naturally feel so discouraged by something that didn't work out immediately and we tend to give up. Its so important to just take it as a lesson learned and move forward
@@SandraDi Exactly! Taking chances and making mistakes and learning from those experiences is part of what makes us grow as people. I think too many people get "stuck" in life because they play it too safe and/or are too afraid of failure. It's a hard mindset to break free from.

The first mistake already hit me right on. I started with Instagram templates, then I created wedding table numbers, then wall art. I was really frustrated to get sales. Sometimes, I am lost. But the hardest truth is, I am aware that I am making this mistake. I know that I should focus on one niche. But there's a side in me that wanted to offer something more to customers. I'm really having a hard time focusing on one niche, and another negative thing is that I get so overwhelmed with the competition. I just don't know what to do.
Hi Alexandra. It's so normal what you're experiencing and it's okay :). I was so stressed with which niche to pick and I always compared myself to the competition. Take it slow and keep in mind that it's actually good to have competitors because it validates the market. I have a video on how to pick a niche right here that might help: ruclips.net/video/GrVF9taVMm0/видео.html
@@KayDejaVu This isn't true. Yes, its possible to sell to a wider audience but focusing exclusively on quantity versus quality is going to be harmful in the long run.
I have this same problem. I also have adhd so it's like a double whammy of me needing to do everything. Are there any products you sell that seem to do well? Or have a lot of views even if they aren't buying? It might be helpful to start there. Make more variations on the things people seem to be responding to. Its also good to remember that the more you work at one thing the better you get at it. Even if it's all easier said than done.
Omg miss Sandra im an 38 year old stay at home mom right now due to the pandemic and i have always wanted to try doing my own side business with my art and graphic designs but i had no earthly idea where to start. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and inspiring this well seasoned lady to start over....lol i can not wait till you drop your Esty workbook because that will help me out in so many ways!!
Hi there! First, I'm so glad this is inspiring you to start a side hustle. The pandemic is what inspired me to start my digital product shop as well. This year is the perfect time to start! You can definitely do this. It just takes focus and hard work, and it will pay off! :) I wish you the best of luck and I'm super excited for you to start your journey. I'm happy to answer any questions as you work through this!
I recently opened my first shop and I’m selling digital prints... I made 5 sections with different styles of art so I can see what people like!! Whatever goes well that’s what I will continue doing!! I was inspired by you and I opened my shop after I finish watching your videos !! 😊😊
I am just starting my etsy shop and before i already list my first digital product i made the decision to be honest with myself from the very begining by doing what works. Thank you Sandra for this video I now made notes of all these mistakes and already started including the right actions into my business.
I'm still making and fixing mistakes, but the ones I caught and corrected: (1) I wasn't ensuring my main keywords were all in the title/description/tags, (2) I didn't take the time to identify what sold the best in my shop so I could create future products similarly, and (3) [in-progress] I failed to use the main images to highlight product features and address common questions/concerns to help out those who don't read my description or read it well. And sadly, I need to work on other means for traffic.
Its great that you're realizing that and catching this now! There's always ways to improve our shop and its a process! :) it will get better and better over time. You're doing amazing already 👏
Thanks for your fresh ideas. If I both flatten and select CYMK with PDF print it is way too large to upload to etsy, with the same five sheets you have and very similar. since this is not a detailed image, I didn't flatten it (which I have sold digital before and never flattened), it went to a much smaller size. Zipping still left it a large size and I don't want to use dropbox. So hopefully the flatten is not that big of deal!
Hiya, im still waiting for my first sale but like you say it takes time, I love watching your videos they are a great help towards my first sale. Thank you!
Next time try mild or hot sausage instead of hamburger. In the wet mixture add a can of chopped green chilies. Use Monterrey Jack or pepper jack instead of cheddar but after you pour in your custard sprinkle some aged cheddar on top.
I love your videos! They’re very informative. I just opened my digital wall art decor shop on Etsy. I’ve already made my first sale. One thing I’m doing wrong so far is not niching down. I was thinking about just adding sections in my shop to help people find certain items better. But anyways keep up the great work!
Thank you for this video i now realised i've made lots of mistakes. Especially on the being specific part. I was selling lots of things without specific niche.
Hey Sandra...your information loaded contents are truly a guidance to many people especially for those who are selling digital products. I started my Etsy store jus a month ago and have already listed some listings. I am pretty confident about the artwork that I've created. However, I am too apprehensive for the quality of physical print output for the buyers. Can you please help me to ensure the print quality of a digital printable...especially wall décor...primarily in 24"x36" with scalable sizes? Any suggestions would be a great help!
Very informative, thank you for taking the time to go through this. My current issue is not having enough products to sell. Like you mention it takes time to create and then post. That is where I am now. Also Google Ads are great too! You can see the data and adjust the marketing as needed.
I'm so glad this was helpful Tahlia! Thank you for watching! Absolutely I'm working to make sure it has all the important steps for selling digital products :)

I thought this video would give me nothing, but I watched it anyway. And then you said "You don't treat your shop like a real business". And yup, that's my mistake🙈 Thank you🌸
I would say so yes :) but it all comes down to research for any niche you want to get into. This includes competitor research, keyword research and target audience research as well :)
ok i guess i can't rely on myself as an example of a shopper. when i go to etsy i know what i'm looking for. even if i don't i enter a search, things pop up. i don't care what other stuff they have in their stores of if their store looks "cohesive." from what you said, a cohesive store will not be selling wall art, with invitations, and even if they sell wall art, there's not a lot of variety. to me that's odd. if i will go to a specific shop, i'd like it to have as many things as possible, kind of like amazon, where i don't have to go to different shops to get the different things i want. I don't read any of the "about me" stuff or anything. to me it doesn't seem relevant. i'm here to buy something and if you have it for the price i want then that is all that's needed.
Yes I have multiple videos like this actually :). I would suggest going through my channel to see what you need but you can start with this one: ruclips.net/video/wO2iLqpa9Wg/видео.html

Very informative video thank you. I definitely didn’t put any work I to the about me page of my shop. So this weekend I am taking my time to work on that.
Thank you for your awesome video! This is awesome advice. Will definitely keep them in mine; especially when it comes to creating & selling products online 😉
I'm just coming across your videos and they have been so helpful already. The number one problem hit me square in the nose and it just went downhill from there, as I'm doing all of these! LOL! So my question is this, do I delete all the listings I have that don't fit into the niche I've chosen so that my shop looks more streamlined? Thanks for your help!
Hi! If they are making sales, I would just keep them up and put them into sections so it's easy for shoppers to navigate through :) then I would try to focus on a specific niche going forward with your new listings! You can always adjust as your shop grows
Have you found that there is a certain program that garners the most downloads of your templates? For example, do you have more success with canva templates versus adobe templates?
I love your videos, so honestly, and amazingly helpful. I have a question. You mention a few times in your videos that you closed 2 shops before starting your current one. Can I ask why you did not just re create your current shops rather than close them? Was it to do with analytics or similar? Thank you for your time xx
Great tips. I started new shop and going to leave but. I got few sales that was unbelievable for me. I'll work on all of your suggestions and I'm sure it will help me grow. 👍😊
I know I am definitely struggling to niche down. I am doing watercolor wall art on Etsy and I have many of my own interests that I think would be a fun variety, but I can't pinpoint what to call my style or what niche to focus on to get off the ground.
This is one of the biggest struggles we face, I totally get it! Don't stress too much. Try out a few different styles and see what's working. See what people are favoriting and purchasing and double down on those.
So i’m a graphic designer, keen to make wedding invtiation, flashcards for kids, and greeting cards. I know you say to niche down Does setting separate shop will be ideal for this situation?

BHAHAHA, you're so funny, by the time you replied they likely moved to a competitor and got married LOL
Hahaha I'm glad someone caught that 🤣🤣🤣
These are great tips!! Thanks so much Sandra. I’m so happy I came across your YT channel 😊😆
You're welcome! Yay I'm happy to have you here! :)
Hi! I closed them down because I gave up on Etsy at that time lol I wasn't planning to continue. I opened a new one a few months later :)
Thanks again for another excellent and knowledgeable video. And a happy belated birthday.
You're very welcome! :)
Thank you for your videos! You’re a great teacher and so appreciate the detailed info.
You're so welcome!! That means a lot to me! :)
Great tips. I started new shop and going to leave but. I got few sales that was unbelievable for me. I'll work on all of your suggestions and I'm sure it will help me grow. 👍😊
That's awesome!! Don't give up :) Good luck!
@@SandraDi thanks a lot. 😊
thank you, Sandra! it's really helpful-- Jaydeep
You're welcome!
@@SandraDi Thank you for replying, I really appreciate the advice!
So helpful! Thank you :)

You're welcome!
So i’m a graphic designer, keen to make wedding invtiation, flashcards for kids, and greeting cards. I know you say to niche down
Does setting separate shop will be ideal for this situation?
I would recommend having different shops for different niches in the long run yes :). Start with 1 at a time and go from there!
