Hey Sandra, Love the Step by Step process. Your instructions are clear and concise, very easy to follow. Just one question, if you have time: When you offer pdfs, I am thinking that the customer would be able to "size-down" using the ratio(s), if he or she wanted to. Hi Sandra, I was watching to another RUclipsr as precious as you are and she is talking about the terms and conditions of Canva finally clarified and you'll be amazed to hear that you cannot sell any element from canva on POD, Printables or KDP. This was told by an actual Canva person.
If you wanted to sell a collection of works say 4 but you also wanted to make it available in different sizes. How do you do that? Would you need to include a different zip folder for each size?
Hi, this is great, thank you. However, your canva is different to mine and I have pro. There is nothing which says CMYK but I can save it as pdf print. However, the suffix/extension on the file name is still pdf. I am going to try searching google. And there is no sizing chart as your video shows. Any thoughts greratly appreciated.

Hi Sandra! I watch your videos and have learned so much. I am wondering if you could do a video on how you organize everything on your computer. For example, do you create a document that contains all of the titles, tags, description, etc. for each of your items? I have a lot of ideas for my shop and want to find the easiest way to keep each item separate but with all of the details/pics. Thanks for all you do! Linda
Hey Sandra! Thank you so much for your tutorial! I have a question: if we have a Canva Pro subscription, does the commercial licence allow me to use the elements to create something new to sell on physical products? I've read and re-read Part 5 of the terms and use I know that stand alone elements cannot be sold as is, and I'm assuming that if I create something new with the elements, it would be fine, similar to Cricut Design Space. However, I want to make sure that I am not breeching anything and doing something illegal.
Hey! Most elements can be used for commercial use as you mentioned they can't be stand alone. If you click the 3 little dots that appear when you hover over an element you can select the info button next to where it says "Free for Canva Pro" or "Free" and Licensing info will pop up. So far I haven't ran into any that does not allow commercial use. Hope this helps!
Hi Sandra, great video, very clear, thank you. I have a question, on Canva, when you decide on the size of your page, do you remove the margin the canva adds? I wanted to design a print with a very colorful background, like a vintage poster, but I wasn't sure how to go about the margins. Do I remove them? Do I stretch my image to the borders? will it show a white edge around? I would appreciate if you could help me with those questions. Thank you!
Hi. I have an idea of selling digital printables for tote bag and design them using Canva. The default size is 250 mm x 250 mm. Should I provide the download files as print pdf or jpeg or both? If jpeg, is it better if I provide 3000 px x 3000 px resolution? Thank you in advance.
Thank you Sandra.!!! I am so glad to find you with the amazing device for me who will start to learn how to do digital download sales. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!! :))))))
Hi Sandra, thank you so much for all this information. I really appreciate your great videos and sharing your wisdom. I am still a little confused with canvas size and resolution. When creating the largest size of each ratio in Canva do you need to be concerned about the pixel measurements? For example to create the largest 2:3 ratio ie 24x36" in Canva at 300dpi, the pixel measurement would need to be 7200x10800. However, you cannot create a measurement that large in Canva. If you are just creating as 24"x36" size, are you still getting 300dpi resolution? I am just starting out on this new venture, and including detailed artwork in my listings, so I want to ensure that my customers are receiving the highest resolution, and can print out the largest sizes of artwork without the images losing clarity. I am saving the file as a PDF Print with CYMK to try to get the best resolution. Thank you :)
Great video, but I have the EXACT same question! Disappointed that it wasn't addressed in the video as this is a known limitation of Canva, and disappointed that she didn't respond to your question. :(
Hi Sandra!! I have found your channel and I absolutely love it! You explain everything so well and take the time also in doing it which is amazing! I do have a question so I am totally completely brand new to the digital world, I want to start making digital printable‘s but you have so many videos on doing them! Could you point me in the direction of videos that I need to start with! I do not have any Etsy account yet, I did sign up through your link for a koji account. I have not even created a printable yet so where would I start what videos would you recommend I start with of yours? I’m kind of jumping around and I’m getting confused so I was wondering like what video would be number one to watch number two to watch number three to watch!!
Hi Sandra, if we upload a mockup from say Creative Fabrica into Canva, should we import the PNG or JPG file, or does it matter? Thank you for this video! It has been invaluable to me. I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge.
Thanks for all of your videos! One question I have that I’m struggling to find an answer for is, when I make a larger file (let’s say a 24x36) do I then need to download each of the smaller versions in that ratio and include them in the file that the customer gets? Or can I only upload the 24x36 file and then they are able to scale it down on themselves after purchase? Thanks again!!
@Sandra Di Hi again! Thanks for the reply. For a 24x36 size file at 300 DPI (for printing), I'll need a 7200x10800 px file... which isn't possible to export in Canva. How do YOU obtain these high-quality 300dpi file sizes por printing purposes? Thanks in advance.
Hi, could you help please. When designing a piece of art to use as a printable for etsy do you do the whole image to the bleed lines or just within the margins? I wasn't sure if all the ratio sizes are the whole page or just within the margins if you choose to show margins. I obviously want to be doing the print the right size for people before I list it on Etsy. Thank you
Hi! Thanks for the helpful information to get started. I was wondering what format do you select to create your wall art? Doc, Whiteboard, Presentation, Logo, Flyer (listed under the create a design tab) Thanks in advance :)
Hello Sandra, I have a question: when downloading from Canva the pdf file, do you use the feature "Crop marks and bleed" or not? Do you recommend using this feature? Why? Thank you,
Anyone having issues with printing PDF's? I cant figure out a way to have the printed at walmart amazon or shutterfly? should they be exported to Jpegs?
Hi! Thank you so much! The only part I’m confused that is when you say they’re able to resize the images. How would they be able to do that? Does it take them to Canvas?
Hi Sandra, thank you very much for your great videos. How do you resize the pictures in Kittl? It doesn't seem to work. I try to download 18x24 and Kittl automatically changes to 19,20 x 24. Thank you very much!
thank you @sandradi !!! just wondering ... sometimes when i download a file as pdf or png it gives me more than 300 DPI , is it okey if i want to sell on etsy and some files are 300 dpi or more ? or all the files should be 300 dpi?
Very nice tutorial. Sandra, so what free web/page free program you can use in order to offer 300 DPI images? I see everybody is offering this quality image. Thanks.
Hi miss Sandra, I am having trouble uploading my PDF print file in Etsy, because my file is over 20 mb, anyway I try to resize my work to 8X10 inch but still it above 20 mb, what size can I used to make it lower? is 5x7 inch is okay or it's a little bit small? thank you
This is so incredibly helpful. When I create my artwork in Canva with a white background and download the files, the background is black in every one of my files. I've tried downloading through Dropbox, opening the files through my phone, using different browsers, it doesn't work. The background is still black in all of them. Do you have any idea how to fix it? Thank you!
Hi Sandra, I have a quick question. I watched your RUclips videos about creating an Esty shop (thank you for those). I would like to print some of my pdfs to see what they look like when printed. Since these are not JPGs I can't upload like a photo. How do I print then? Just use document or business printing? I'm just worried some customers may be confused. Thank you.
@sandradi please answer me? I have been following you for a long time. Just bought you a coffee. I just need to know in this video you recommend pdf, but how would I know the pdf is 300 DPI or not?
Thank you so much, Sandra, for the tutorial! This video finally pushed me to take the step and open my own Etsy shop. I wanted to ask you- when you download vectors what quality is best for print? Thank you.
I'm having a bizarre issue with one piece of art. My first one, it went smoothly. Second one, the png file I created is over 4 times larger than the first one for some reason, even though I can't see any obvious reason why it should be. But this also means that it's too big to be uploaded to Canva (20mb limit). What do you do if your file is too big for Canva??
How do you know which file to save it under.... JPEG, PNG or SVG. I've heard that with an SVG you can print it any size that you want and it will still be perfectly clear. Help?? Thanks!
This is the most helpful video yet for me!! Now I understand ratio, thank you. So I did like you. I downloaded as a pdf but my question is, how do I know the quality of the pdf? Is it 300 DPI as well or higher?
Love this tutorial and all the helpful tips that you are sharing. Super duper Cool. I just realized you are Canadian right? Well Hello from New Brunswick!

If you’ve already done the clips, would you mind pass the link to me? Thank you a lot for your helpful❤
For some reason when I make a file that is 7200 x 10800, the file is 700+ MB and I get a warning from GIMP. Yours is like 2 MB. I have no idea why this is happening.
Hi Sandra another great video! I’m new to selling on Etsy and have opened my second store with the hope of selling printables, in your opinion is it best to upload as PDF or JPG? I’ve also seen listings that state that you will receive a link t dropbox where you can download straight from. What’s best?
Thank you for this information. I work in canva for making my products that I sell on TPT; but I also make digital artwork that I would love to sell on etsy. Here is my question... I create my artwork in Procreate. Do you know the best way to get my work from procreate to canva? Or, if I just make sure to create with 300 dpi in procreate, save it as a png, and then upload to canva, would that work? Unfortunately, I went back and checked some of my older work and it is not in 300 dpi. So sad. Thanks so much! I look forward to learning more.
Hi, thanks for this video.Very clear and explanatory I would like to ask you something: if I create something to print with an artificial intelligence generator, could you tell me what resolutions are suitable for the different formats?
Hai sandra, I want to ask, can I use your size ratio for my printable shop? I was so lucky to find your video, it really helped me open a shop on Etsy, Thank you so much!!
Hi, Sandra. How about 24x24 size, I don't see the ratio that 24x24 fits in that category. I need to make this size. Hopefully, you'll notice my message. Thanks❤
Hi Great videos. I have taken your description retype, and it made a few changes. There are too many words characters to upload. Yours are more than 1000, and it only takes 255, I think. So how did you do it, or did Etsy change
superb video and thank you, do we have to do it in several formats in order to satisfy the customer? Wouldn’t a simple A4 format be enough to make sales? Thank you very much for your response, good luck...
Wait, I am just wondering, why in this video you suggest pdf and the other wall art video you use jpg? In the other video you suggested we come here to understand about the ratio but here you are suggesting pdf but the other video you use jpg. Just wondering why the difference? Thank you Sandra for these tutorials, I love them!
Great video! So, when I try to resize, up or down, from the original, there will sometimes be a small white border around the image. How do I avoid that? Thanks for your help!
Hi Sandra. Love love your videos. Just one question, can you please explain what you mean with the upload instructions settings, how do I upload the instructions for print so the person buying my print gets it. Hope for an answer 💗
Hi Sandra! Are you exporting these in Canva as JPEG and just increasing the quality as high as you can or are you saving as PDF print and then converting it to 300 DPI somewhere else?
@@SandraDi What kind of Pdf? RGB or CMYK? I converted a design I made and after I saved it as pdf cmyk it ruined the colors. Baby pink transformed into a ugly magenta. Any ideas how to fix this? Or maybe quit using Canva for printable and only use for digital?
Hey my only issue is when I change the print sizes it moves my designs around. So they all don't look in the same spot. Is that normal? If not how do I prevent that
I've saved my files the same way as you but when I go to upload the file in my etsy listing it says "please upload files under 20 megabytes" even when i reduce the amount of photos per compressed folder or upload 1 at a time. What should I do, just change the file type?
@@SandraDi I have the same problem...Could I upload them as a .jpg file? When I save them as a .jpg file, files are a lot smaller than pdf. Or is the pdf file better for printable wall art?
So question: you send the seller a file with all the largest sizes in each ratio? So technically, they could print all of them even tho they just paid for one size?
For some reason when I try to resize my pdf onto my mockup in Canva it cuts off my photo (zooms in) it won't let me just resize it to fit the frame in the mockup idk what I'm doing wrong :/
If you use a pro image in your printable design, Canva requires your customer provided link, to link them back to Canva.. I am having trouble because the available “view only” link isn’t downloadable..

I have a lot of ideas for my shop and want to find the easiest way to keep each item separate but with all of the details/pics. Thanks for all you do! Linda
Hi Linda! I'm so glad you're liking my videos! And I love that suggestion - I can definitely show how I organize all my folders!! 😍
I would LOVE this same
Video. Organizing my prints and items for my shop is STRESSFUL!
This is the most comprehensive video I've seen with regards to creating printables! Thanks so much for all the great info!
Thank you!
I personally don't use margins for my printable wall art! I only use them for my printable planners and I've had no issues! :)
Thank you for very clear guidance on how to create the highest quality printables!
Hi! You would just create the largest size of each ratio you are offering and that's it! :)
Hi Sandra. When making the 24x36 file size, how can I download the file at 300 DPI ?? Thank you 😉
I would download in PDF if you're using canva!
Very helpful video. Just a question though, Can I design Wall Art using Canva and Pro Elements and sell it on Etsy?
Hi, could you help please. When designing a piece of art to use as a printable for etsy do you do the whole image to the bleed lines or just within the margins? I wasn't sure if all the ratio sizes are the whole page or just within the margins if you choose to show margins. I obviously want to be doing the print the right size for people before I list it on Etsy. Thank you
Hi! Thanks for the helpful information to get started.
I was wondering what format do you select to create your wall art? Doc, Whiteboard, Presentation, Logo, Flyer (listed under the create a design tab)
Thanks in advance :)
Is 240 DPI fine or must they be 300DPI? I’ll be selling beach pictures for printing
Does it matter if we offer PDF or JPEG on etsy? Is there a difference in quality when printing an image vs just quotes?
Hello Sandra,
I have a question: when downloading from Canva the pdf file, do you use the feature "Crop marks and bleed" or not?
Do you recommend using this feature? Why?
Thank you,
Anyone having issues with printing PDF's? I cant figure out a way to have the printed at walmart amazon or shutterfly? should they be exported to Jpegs?
Hi! Thank you so much! The only part I’m confused that is when you say they’re able to resize the images. How would they be able to do that? Does it take them to Canvas?
Hi Sandra, love your content. So informative. Where do I get an image of the sizing chart to put in with my listing. Thank you so much for your help.
I did everything just like you but just in kittl but for some reason my 16 x 20 only comfortably resized to 8x10 what did I do wrong?
Thanks.
Hi miss Sandra, I am having trouble uploading my PDF print file in Etsy, because my file is over 20 mb, anyway I try to resize my work to 8X10 inch but still it above 20 mb, what size can I used to make it lower? is 5x7 inch is okay or it's a little bit small? thank you
Hi! I hope don't mind if I copy your chart for the ratio. Thank you for this wonderful video, it is really helpful for everyone.
Where does the customer "resize" their image file within said ration options? Do they do this in canva?
How do you know which file to save it under.... JPEG, PNG or SVG. I've heard that with an SVG you can print it any size that you want and it will still be perfectly clear. Help?? Thanks!
Thank you miss sandar ..we appreciate your effort . I have a question ... About the commercial liscince can I sell the product without a problem???
This is the most helpful video yet for me!! Now I understand ratio, thank you. So I did like you. I downloaded as a pdf but my question is, how do I know the quality of the pdf? Is it 300 DPI as well or higher?
Love this tutorial and all the helpful tips that you are sharing. Super duper Cool. I just realized you are Canadian right? Well Hello from New Brunswick!
Just subscribed🎉 I’m just interested in drawing and sell digital files and then your clips pop out, so helpful and understandable explanation. ❤ I also have some question; How I can sell some printable file or format directly on Canvas? If you’ve already done the clips, would you mind pass the link to me?
Thank you a lot for your helpful❤
For some reason when I make a file that is 7200 x 10800, the file is 700+ MB and I get a warning from GIMP. Yours is like 2 MB. I have no idea why this is happening.
Hi Sandra another great video! I’m new to selling on Etsy and have opened my second store with the hope of selling printables, in your opinion is it best to upload as PDF or JPG? I’ve also seen listings that state that you will receive a link t dropbox where you can download straight from. What’s best?
I can't find a place that will offer printable for all sizes under each ratio. Any suggestions?
I'm a newbie, and this video is amazing. What kind of paper can I use to self-print for my small business?
Thank you for this information. I work in canva for making my products that I sell on TPT; but I also make digital artwork that I would love to sell on etsy. Here is my question... I create my artwork in Procreate. Do you know the best way to get my work from procreate to canva? Or, if I just make sure to create with 300 dpi in procreate, save it as a png, and then upload to canva, would that work? Unfortunately, I went back and checked some of my older work and it is not in 300 dpi. So sad. Thanks so much! I look forward to learning more.
Hi, thanks for this video.Very clear and explanatory
I would like to ask you something: if I create something to print with an artificial intelligence generator, could you tell me what resolutions are suitable for the different formats?
Hi @Sandra. On the video you say the last ratio is 11 x 4, but on the chart, it shows 11 x 14. I am confused.
Hai sandra, I want to ask, can I use your size ratio for my printable shop?
I was so lucky to find your video, it really helped me open a shop on Etsy,
Thank you so much!!
Hi, Sandra. How about 24x24 size, I don't see the ratio that 24x24 fits in that category. I need to make this size. Hopefully, you'll notice my message. Thanks❤
Hi
Great videos.
Hi! I personally use Adobe Illustrator for my printables and export to 300 dpi. However for Canva, I would recommend PDF files
I would offer a dropbox link instead! I have a video showing how to do this! :)
@@SandraDi Oh okay thankyou :)
@@SandraDi I have the same problem...Could I upload them as a .jpg file? When I save them as a .jpg file, files are a lot smaller than pdf. Or is the pdf file better for printable wall art?
I wonder if it's absolutely necessary to make it in CMYK or it is okay in RGB. Please!
and thank you for all your videos.
Hi
If we use canva for designing , can we get the same colors after printing on etsy, redbubble.... etc ?? canva uses rgb mode!?
This video was great! Thank you for the resources. Any tips on getting site traffic and making sales? :)
So question: you send the seller a file with all the largest sizes in each ratio? So technically, they could print all of them even tho they just paid for one size?
Thank you for the video! If I download a pic from pinteredt and remove the background the quality won't be good or it's fine printed?
If I want to print a landscape image what file size do I use?
For some reason when I try to resize my pdf onto my mockup in Canva it cuts off my photo (zooms in) it won't let me just resize it to fit the frame in the mockup idk what I'm doing wrong :/
If I use creative fabric for the 1$ for 7 days. Do I need to renew to continue selling my products using their graphics?
This was a really useful and inspiring video, thank you very much. YOu look like Mila Cunis at bit.
If you use a pro image in your printable design, Canva requires your customer provided link, to link them back to Canva.. I am having trouble because the available “view only” link isn’t downloadable..
