Thanks I was pleasantly surprised. Good information. We are settling up stores across multiple platforms for our daughter's business. Trying to decide if we want to use Etsy for digital downloads or as a print on demand store.
Most likely we will do some A,B, testing with multiple stores to see which one does better.
Looking at modern outdoor life as our niche but will probably need to niche down more.

@@SandraDi thanks for the speedy reply. You mentioned that there was an app to sell custom prints. My wife and daughter make one off necklaces, bracelets etc. I couldn't see if there was a way to list them with a quantity of 1.

Advice. Just starting out in the digital world because I decided to make it easier at the moment than a physical product and shipping. I have always had trouble niching down and starting just one. I would love to do two or three and see what sales the best. Music/Movie related quotes. Would love to add simple drawings in with those (music/movie) (could sale as a bundle too) but also Photography related (landscape or other) Would you recommend using social media and Koji to start off and asking others opinion while showing product ? Or just open two ? Or maybe just the one to start ?

Set it as CMYK, that’s the printing color space. RGB is monitor/web color space.

Hi Sandra! I am so glad I found your very informative channel~ I have a few different POD shops but I am creating a new one for Digital Downloads and your videos have helped me so much! Side note- I have had my designs stolen from my Etsy shop and from my Amazon Merch accounts and used all over the internet. Very frustrating and time-consuming chasing them down, I give up after a certain point...What are your thoughts on if this will happen to designs I am selling for download and print? Are you ever concerned people will use them and sell them as their own? How does that work/do they automatically get permission once they buy them from us or can we stipulate they are not for resale? Hi Justine! I'm so sorry to hear that's happened to you. It's happened to me as well and unfortunately there's only so much we can do to stop it. I would recommend placing a copyright notice in all your descriptions stating that its not for resale. It's only for personal use. You can also have an automatic document sent to them along with their digital prints that has the copyright notice. Does that make sense? :)

Hi! I always recommend having 1 niche when starting out but since you already have different artwork, how is it going? If you are making sales, I wouldn't remove any pieces, but I would focus on the ones that are doing well and create more similar pieces :) does that make sense?
@@SandraDi it does make sense thanks. Only 1 sale (family) so far but certain pieces have been favorited several times so maybe remove some and focus’s on similar ones that are frequently favorited?

This was one of the first videos i watched and it is still very helpful. I'm now starting to create wall art and because of my main color and style, it will be under the feminine/fashion category. Unrelated to this video, but how relevant is Pinterest in 2022 for driving traffic to your Etsy store?
I've been reading a lot of articles and comments from other users who've mentioned that Pinterest have recently changed their algorithm which is significantly hindering the engagement of new pins? They've also removed the option to 'claim' your Etsy store which isn't a good sign either.

Hi! Pinterest was bringing in about 50% of my traffic to be honest. I would still recommend using it but since I have not had time to dedicate to it personally lately, most of my traffic now comes from Etsy itself. So if you focus on keywords and market research, Etsy should be able to bring in a lot of traffic on its own :)

I just switched to adobe illustrator from photoshop to dive into digital art work and printables. What do you like using more Adobe Illustrator or Canva. I personally like Adobe Illustrator more lol I provide a lot of Canva tutorials because I know it's easier, like you said! But I actually have a bunch of Illustrator tutorials that are coming up real soon! :)

Sandra, Please guide me. In which color mode should I design and provide the final files to client for printing? RGB or CMYK. I am confused because RGB works for digital presentation and CMYK works for printing. Then what should the mode I have to use?
Hi! If you are using vibrant colors and you want the customer to print it out, it should be CMYK :)

Hi! I would personally focus on 1 style in 1 store and double down on that before moving on to a different store with a different style :) it's difficult to start with multiple styles because the target audience is not really defined. Hope that helps!

Hey, great video, thanks for that. I have one question: Do you add bleed at the edges (3mm for example)? I am not sure about that, becaus, if the customer print it at home, he will use the right paper, so the bleed dont will be cut of and the print looks strange and not like it suposed to be. But if you dont ad the bleed and he goes to a printshop (or an online printshop) they will maybe cut of a bit of the design, and when there is no bleed, they will cut of the real design. I am not sure, if I should upload the regualr sized artwork or with an added bleed...
Some people add bleed and some don't! That's up to you :) I personally don't and I have not run into any issues!

Yay happy to have you here!! For the designs that require line art, custom shapes, etc., no you would need a software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or Procreate. If you are using already made graphics with a commercial license, you can use Canva. Hope that helps :)
