I never would have thought of using this process. I have cloned garments onto paper using pins on the laid-out garment with paper and cardboard under it. It creates a “dot to dot” on the paper that you use a pen and connect the dots. This is SO much faster and probably more accurate than that!

Will you be doing a shirt version of this? I have a shirt that I have saved because I love the sleeve but I haven't figured out a good way to copy it without taking the shirt apart.

I do plan on doing a shirt version, but sometimes the sleeves can be tricky!

Are you using a video camera over the work or is there some way you have made your projector into a camera ?

No, it is just a regular projector being used as a second computer screen. You do need a vector editing program though. You can use Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, or Affinity Designer. Any program that will allow you to precisely zoom and draw.
Open a blank document in the program. As you draw on your computer, you won’t see the pants. That is why I look at the projector as a second screen, and and use my mouse trace around the pants on the table.
      Does that help?
