I love the shape of that clip. I love how close it hugs the knife. And that shallow swoop. Beautiful!
Backed! And filler tab with recessed screws confirmed, so I guess the clip screws is going to be recessed too. I think the reason why tat type of pattern on the handle is pocket friendly is because the texturing is going along with the handle. Another genius detail from kunwu
I think the design of the clip looks more unique and cooler than a standard rectangle milled clip! Love that they updated it with a filler tab on the side where you don't use the pocket clip. Super excited for mine, i got the diamond texture titanium option of course

I agree. It reminds me of hinderer clip. Not sure if he has said that already. And I’m a milled clip fan typically, but sometimes it doesn’t go with the design. So yah, I ordered mine yesterday and I was getting nervous on the countdown… I got mine when there were about 20 left out of 45… right now there’s 1!!!! So glad I pulled the trigger on it, Can’t wait for it

They went with a Kunwu branded clip that doesn't look as attractive as the one on this model, unfortunately. For the Aug. 2023 release, at least. I hope they go back to the prototype's clip design.

Got mine the other day. Replaced springs for included stronger springs, and I did file and sand the tip of pocketclip down just a bit to make it more rounded and less pokey. Otherwise this is one of the best out of box for the money knife buys ever. Such a amazing design and execution with few flaws and many features punching above class. Totally a no brainer purchase, 100% recommend.

I own the X-Tao in Ti, Zen, and Tao. Love them all.
Kunwu is just built different.
I have the Orion 2, the Zen Compact, and supported the kickstarter for the Pulsar. I don't think you can find the combination of materials, build quality, and fit and finish, for the price, in any other knife company right now. They have been knocking it out of the park!

The last time I checked the kickstarter it looked like the 160 price was for the g10 version, with diamond ti around 220. Even still, those prices are fantastic

Actually backed this on Kickstarter earlier today!
Received my Pulsar a week ago and it is beautiful. Build quality is excellent and it is very sharp. The production clip is much nicer than the proto. The only negative is a very light detent. I sent Kunwu a message 4 days ago with no response.
Did you change to the stronger springs?

PSA - ONLY 67 HOURS LEFT ON THE KICKSTARTER as of 11PM mtn time Sat Dec 17th. And, Ti has sold out unless you buy a combo package of two with one in G-mascus or CF and the other can be Ti. Still a steal at under $300 for two knives. It's only $130 for G-mascus or Camo G-10.

they have exceeded their pledge goal by over 1000%. it would have been nice to see DLC blade on more handle options. the black with the red G10 or the orange peel would be sick!
i am going to pick one of those up. A lot of companies would charge $250-$400 for all of those features.
I might cop this today, I want the titanium textured of course , but I'm weird and if I spend too much on a knife I won't use it as much cuz It'll hurt my feelings every time I see a new scratch appear on the scales. So I might have to go with the G-10 so I'll actually use it. And if I fall in love I'll probably order another in titanium

Regarding the price: I backed the campaign and the total for the diamond version was $170, with a "regular retail price" of $229. Pretty good still, but not the $160 MC quotes in the video.
2:09 i really like this knife. i have money burning a hole in my pocket right now which is just timing (i keep missing the reate exo) and i almost bought a kizer drop bear this week but i cannot find an aftermarket pocket clip for it or aftermarket scales to address the raised screws on the pocket clip so i decided to scrap that for now. as soon as i looked at this i’m like “perfect” and it’s a little cheaper than the version of the drop bear that i was looking at and definitely cheaper than buying aftermarket scales for it. maybe i’ll snag one.
The Diamond Ti Pulsar is now available on the Kunwu website for the retail price, which is $239 and not $160. @Metal Complex does your opinion of the knife change based on this new price? Is it still as recommendable?

How are you so often cutting your fingers? Learning to play with my balisong I did get several cuts on my index finger the first couple of weeks. But can't remember the last time I've cut myself with a folder.
I did get in on the Pulsar kickstarter funding and looking forward to receiving it when they're finished with production.

I just got the production version and it’s even better than this one. The pocket clip is improved, there is additional contouring around the axis lock, they have an insert to smooth out the pocket clip holes on the side you’re not using. Seems maybe a touch slimmer too but could be imagining it. Really amazing knife for the money. Feels as good as 3/400 knives I own. Ships with additional springs in case you want a stronger ‘detent’ which is a nice touch as standard is a little light.
What are peoples thoughts on Kunwu’s XT lock vs Benchmade’s axis lock?
Hey, little heads up from the future- they didn’t strengthen the detent (I know there’s no actual detent, but ykwim) and it’s the only thing holding this knife back from being an all time great knife
This may have bumped off the titanium m390 bugout as my dream knife.
I just preordered/backed the kickstarter. When will the knife ship out? Do they ship the knife out right after you order or do you have to wait for it to release?
ps: 4:08 it was said that the tension would be fixed in production knives. does this include preordered kickstarter versions?

Hmm from the material/value point of view the Pulsar beats the bugout and hogue. You get a ton for your money.
How did I not know about this!?
I just bought two pulsars and I’ve got a big issue. I’ll make it brief. The buttons are so hard to pull down. They must be pulled down in the exact same time. They’re so rough that my fingers are bloody after two days a knife that’s supposed to be this good shouldn’t be like this. part of me wonders if it’s counterfeit the strong springs are not in. I can try and return them all. However, I hate doing that or send it back for a repair part of me wonders if there fakes. I’ve oiled them a little bit. I thought of sanding them down a little bit, but you shouldn’t really have to do that to a really good knife and everybody is raving about this knife, also, all the screws are awfully sharp .any advice would be much appreciate . Also thank thank you for your work. Enjoy watching your show. I learn a lot and you have no idea how seeing how happy you are on your show working and doing what you love, how much that makes other people Feel happier, so thank you for that as well. Well, I hope I get some suggestions and thank you again.

It was love at first sight for me and right after you said the price of $160 I clicked on the link fully expecting it to be sold out but maybe get on a waiting list. Well, this particular one was available but the freaking price after just six months is now $240. An $80 price hike in just six months? Sorry, but that's complete BS.

Amazing design. Meat and potatoes
To me, this is a premium, product improved Vosteed Raccoon. I LOVE the blade shape and the lock-type, BUT... I just wish they made a micarta scaled version (I hate Ti scales and the digi-camo and 'G-mascus" {BLECH} G10 scales look comically like something out of a glass case in a gas station) and I'm not a huge fan of Elmax, in fact I kinda really dislike it (I'd much prefer M4 or Cru-Wear).

Problem is, it ISN'T $160. Its $220. Biiiiiiggg difference. Now, is it a $220 level knife. I don't know. Maybe. But, since they told the world of RUclips that they "Plan" to release it at $160, it will always have that asterisk next to it.
Volkswagen pulled this crap years ago, with a model called the Toureg. It was actually a pretty awesome SUV, and when it was released, it delivered on all of its promises. All of the power, luxury and appeal that Volkswagen claimed it would have, it did have. It was in its own right a pretty amazing vehicle. The problem was, it was pushed to us through auto magazines (the RUclips of its day) as a $40k Mercedes killer, but was released as a $70k Mercedes alternative.
It bombed, and it bombed HARD. Now, I don't know how the Pulsar did, and I don't necessarily hope it fails, but this false advertising will alway stay stuck in my head whenever I consider buying one of Kunwu's products. Its the reason I havent pulled the trigger on the Padre yet, even though I badly want one.
Don't get me wrong. I get that sometimes, hoped for price targets cannot be reached. However, a 37.5% overshoot tells me that they CERTAINLY knew that $160 was unreasonable to begin with, yet that was their claim so as to build hype. They DELIBERATELY lied to us. Not MISLEAD. LIED!!!
Love their product all you want, guys, but please don't forget this.

G-d dammit Complex, u steered me wrong for the second time in a row!!
First the We knife Snecx vision R, which u made one of your best knives of 2022 was absolute shit, the lock is horribly uncomfortable and will hurt your index finger in under a minute of fidgeting with it.
Next I made the second mistake of listening to complex and picked up the Pulsar. Looks fantastic but one fatal flaw. It’s got zero detent (or synthetic detent feeling. The issue is so bad that it’s basically not able to spydie flick or thumb flick the blade out, which is a big issue when that was the main reason I got the knife: bc complex raved abt it so hard and bc it looked like a top tier spydie-flicking, fidgety pocket knife.
Beyond disappointed. But the kunwu x Tao in Ti is absolutely fantastic, so all is not lost for the kunwu line. I got the x Tao first which made my dissatisfaction with the even more unexpected and as a result, an even greater disappointment

Yeah they went up but this was the kickstarter price and the price was the g10 variant for the lower price. The price around $260 is the textured titanium version which is still incredibly competitive based on quality and materials! The g10 versions are still around $200 and still great value!
