So, here's the deal. I absolutely adore Bergam, thats my number one dude, also i absolutely adore Borka. I was one of the guys that was pretty pissed when Evo came out knowing its basically a design inspired by Strider and Bergam. So here we are years after me doing the same thing, you might think its Evo but in fact the design language goes way back. Kudos to EVO for becoming its own thing but i do know a bit more about knives than to go straight after a derivative and call it inspiration.
So. Well. Said. And there is always more to the story than what we know. This puts a completely different light than being just “inspired by” the design. This is great. The knife nerd in me wants alllll the lore. Lol. I’ll grab one of these- they look well done. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This knife is fantastic! I’ve had evo 2.0s n 3.0s and the padre is right up there with them if not alittle better for me! Detent is fantastic for both the front flipper and hole. The vanax is spot on and the heat treat is very good! I have the Liong mah field duty 3.5 and the padres detent is way better than a $550 knife! Man keep up the great work and the sky is the limit for Kunwu!

I'd like to add one thing I haven't heard anyone talk about. The Padre has the most satisfying sound when being deployed of any knife I've ever heard!
Recently got mine. It's been the only knife in my pocket the last two weeks. Honestly, it's my favorite knife in my collection at this point. This Padre, IMHO, feels hundreds above it's price in quality. The action on mine is absolutely impeccable. If I got the Padre in my hand and someone told me it was $650, I would absolutely believe it based on quality and materials. If you're on the fence, just get it now. The Padre is just off the charts!

Kunwu over the last year or so has become my dream brand to have one day. Just about everything they have made is exceptional. Literally any one of their models I dream to have and I keep saving for.
If we’re just being honest.. I love how it has a similar profile to the Rotten Evo 3. It’s a beautiful and useful design 👌
That’s exactly what I thought when I first saw this and I love it. That blade shape is just mean looking and cuts like an animal.

I bought 1 of each.of the 2 padres and the timascus bits and pieces. Its replaced the Reate torrent, Valyrie II and Horizon D as the top of the heap favorite/smooth action knife. Serge and Kunwu are smashing it!
Finally preordered this version . I seen that black shiny dlc version featured the other day and thought it looked pretty cool . Thanks for sharing .
I have a Kunwu Diamond Pulsar, probably my favorite knife in my collection, and a Carbon Fiber Chad which is really nice. I need to get a Padre. Looks like an awesome knife, and their customer support is outstanding.
This knife started life on digital paper as a DEDICATED Left Hand knife to which Sergio left it up to us whether or not to offer a Right Hand version. You're welcome Right Handed World! Just bought a diamond stonewashed padre. I am absolutely stoked for it to come in. Seeing as it's similar in style to a ckf rotten evo (which I will probably never be able to obtain) is awesome. It will be my 3rd kunwu. 1st is the Pulsar, 2nd is Chad, and I love them both. Kuwnu is doing great things.
Kunwu is awesome! I only have the pulsar so far and it’s amazing, of course I got the diamond ti version 😅 I agree they do the texturing perfectly, provides great grip but is in no way sharp and looks so badass. Just anodised the scales purple with bronze clip, filler tab and crossbar tabs - looks sweet!!!
Love that heavy stonewash finish!!
Absolutely love my Kunwu Pulsar (milled Ti)! This one looks like, but holding out for the upcoming Django. The blacked out CF version they posted a pic of on IG recently is quite possibly my current, most idealized knife.

The rotten Evo is my all-time number one grail knife but I'll probably never be able to get my hands on one but I'll definitely be buying the Padre

I got myself one last Friday and ohh M_C everything you said and more about this piece is bang on. It’s so smooth and beautiful I can’t think of a single thing to add, other than I love the thing it’s a perfect. Have a beautiful day/night and stay safe and healthy 🫵😘👍

Got the stonewashed one and excited to get it, dhl taking its time.
Vanax is such a good steel. Great edge stability down to 14dps. And is easy to hit optimal heat treatment @60HRC, which makes it perfect for factory knives. It can in theory hit a higher hardness of up to 62, but even custom makers have a hard time hitting 61 consistently. And by messing around trying to get it as hard as possible, there is a higher likelihood that the steel would actually perform worse than a good 60HRC HT.
Cid it aint easy at all and if you do not know what you're doing it warps. Cost is not the only factor
The kunwu hands down is a better-looking knife and I don't usually like front opening knives but I love this one

Bought one simply based on the unboxing vid of this knife, first introduction to Kunwu but damn that's a nice knife. Of course if it WERE inspired by an Evo... ok? I'd love to own an Evo for $300 too. But this is clearly it's own thing. And that milling on the Ti scales is unreal. Can't wait for it to arrive, hopefully by next week. Feel dumb for spending well over a grand on Microtechs recently when I could have been plenty satisfied with the Padre and Stitch.
Ah who am I kidding, I'd still wanna buy all the other knives. Bought a damn Adamas simply because all the BM was on sale somewhere. I don't even remember where I bought it from, just know it's in the mail. And this Chaves Sangre just showed up too... man, I'm beginning to think I have a genuine problem.
Just ordered this exact version from white mountain last night. There were two uncoated versions left over just sitting on page 5 of the kunwu listing lol. I guess nobody scrolled far enough. I got mine for right at $275 shipped over night with a code I was given. Stoked to see how it physical compares to the evo 3. Action wise I mean. This will be a stand in until my skaha 2 in magnacut arrives eventually

The growler is amazing knife.
If anyone is interested and hasn't seen it, Zac in the Wild has a great video with Ben Peterson about knife designs looking the same. I know it might sound boring, but they made it pretty engaging.
The opening hole matches the handle when closed.. the lines match up the flow works. Unlike the voodoo where the opening hole or hat ever that was doesn’t match the knife at all open or closed
I would guess the evo was influenced by the gavko thrasher. Classic design as you said its old as pirates and the persian/ ottoman empire
This is sweet. A bit on the big size for me, so really hoping they released a mini version.

I was thinking of Sniper Bladeworks’ DMF when I first saw this, tho the Rotten Evo seems like more of an inspiration.
And, the Satin looks nicer to me, tho I would prefer a finger safe lock.

It’s very well done. Best detent to date on a Kunwu for me. Centered solid and the action just keeps breaking in more and more. To note, they have multi row bearings. Stupid value.

Can't argue with that, but what's pulling me to the padre is the value. AnD I like the Way the rotten Evo looks so it doesn't bother me at all if this is inspired by that, but cheaper by far and with well heat treated vanax?! I mean, I've had easier knife decisions.🤷

I had mine coming with an off centered blade and completely covered in oil. A QC slip I guess. Could easily fix it and Kunwu gave me a nice partial refund…

@kunwuknivesofficial6110 One additional comment. I got mine on Sept 14th as I mentioned below. I can now unfortunately deploy the blade with only wrist action. No finger deployment necessary. Should the detent be that light after only a few days. This is a big blade and I do not want an accidental deployment. I first noticed after a couple double bounces of the blade when I let it drop shut. Thanks for any and all advice.

He should do a mini Padre, where your hand barely gets a full grip on the handle but you get a full grip on the index blade cutout
I’m here for it this will be mine. I love the padre love the evo more but they’re impossible to find and with the health problems Jon Sorensen posted about I fear I may never get one which breaks my heart bc it’s my favorite knife I’ve ever layed my eyes on.

Look, I've become a knife enthusiast recently (I've liked knives all my life) and I certainly love your knife community oriented page as well as other peoples similar pages! One thing as a constructive opinion is that every knife shown should be tested in what knive should do and were build for and what we in reality are going to use them, not extreme stuff in which nobody will use a knife in such fashion! One last opinion that you may not like but is what I feel: No matter what style, what material the blade or handle might be, how lite or heavy, big or small, how beautiful it might be or the "Company brand" No knife should cost over $100, more than that is to throw your money away into these knife companies to make them crazy rich with over a 1000% or more on profit on each sale! Just an example here: A Tac Force AXE002SW Axe ( Yes, I like axes too) A full tang stonewash finish stainless 6" cutting edge with 2 pounds of material (A complete beauty) has a list price of $50. A "Spyderco Pochi Knife with Stainless Steel Blade" which blade don't even reaches 2inches cost $138... Do you guys think this is even logical? Case and point!

The expense of knives is getting out of hand! I thought 384 with shipping and tax was alot for the keanison basset hound. But the one i wanted more, The Bull knives XYRO is 460. With shipping! So easy pass, F that! It's a knife.

Since ya noticed me MC, still looking for that push in the right direction between el padre and nulls voodoo. If you don't wanna upset a manufacturer, I'll totally accept a cryptic hint.
That's a tough one. I mean the Padre overall is money spent more towards utility, and the voodoo is more towards the side of aesthetic embellishment, but it's only slight for each model. It'll really come down to how comfortable you are with the pricetag. Both are excellent tools
