@@SolitarySpade_Davon Ah...Captain Torris.
and you forgot to put a good, engaging and interesting story
IMO one of the best fictional modern geopolitical setups. The idea of nations being forced to burn all their resources to build massive defense systems again a world ending meteor and the following asteroid shower which completely destabilizes the worlds government resulting in a series of wars and decades of global chaos. Weak nations becoming strong and strong nations weakening. Uprisings and conflicts. The battles over the super weapons that spared them. I think even Clancy could tip his hat to that.
"Who would have ever thought this music would be in a game with this box art?"
So, imagine those two fighter jets. Now imagine them being in a castilian style jousting competition except replace the lances with guided missiles and you start to get an idea.
Its honestly so perfect, so iconic, hearing this song makes me relive that final battle all over again.
Guided missiles and a fucking laser wha-
@@liamtordoff9974 and nukes. Don't forget the nukes.
@@salk9943 Ah, yes. Because we need to restart this twisted game and reset everything to Zero, because *that's* what V2 is for, but a few extra nukes can never hurt, might need them for something like air-to-air single combat.
@@liamtordoff9974 So. Have you found a reason to fight yet? _Buddy._
"don't judge a book by its cover" indeed the story is about a debate on if borders are actually necessary as they are just made up lines drawn on a map. The reason this song is melancholic is because this plays on the final boss where you have to fight your ex-wingman over the remains of a nation that blew up 7 nukes on its own soil to stop an army from invading. The fight starts off with your ex-wingman saying "...here comes the snow" as nuclear snow begins to fall.
bruh
@@JessesAuditorium ah should add the ruined nation was your wingman's birth nation. As you play as a mercenary. So it was just unfortunate you and your bud got hired by the army invading his home nation.
@@shinon748 and you're against the clock to win before the guy nukes the continent. Just to top it off lol

The game's director believed the flamenco guitar was the perfect usage for the personal one-on-one dogfight between you and your former wingman. The entire game uses flamenco guitar in most of its tracks, though I think this one has the heaviest use of castanets xD Keiki Kobayashi, the game's lead composer, was dumbfounded on how to fit a flamenco guitar in a game that usually relies on rock-and-roll, orchestral, or synthesizer music, but I think everyone agrees they nailed it.
The director was fuckin right
The flamenco really did sum up what dog fights are
A lethal dance where the pilot with the better moves wins.
Please, please "bore" us with technical terms and explanations. It is amazing to hear you really get into a song and break it down entirely, especially with a genre that you're so familiar with.
Got you 😎

@@joshuabrown3525 you saw the video tho right
I've been in love with this song since I heard it as kid playing the game when it came out.
The song set the stage so well. Two friends that fought and seen the best and worst of war until conflicting ideals separated them.
At the end, it was the highest stakes, but beyond that. It was you and him. It ends, whatever happens, it ends today. Only one person was leaving this dance. Two planes searing across the sky towards each other. All while the song plays.
omg T_T
Remembering teenage me getting teary eyed over the finale of a game about fighter jets. Ace Combat truly is a special series.
The song was perfect for the fight it always brought to mind the mental image of two master swordsman dueling each other.
@@neogoterra Or lancers jousting...
@@liamtordoff9974 more like it starts as a dance and ends in a joust. You spend two thirds of the song following his lead then to end it in a head on high speed pass.
I would consider "Ace Combat" as its own genre lol, i love the series so much
Yeah, Just like Dark Souls.. they are so iconic they became their own genres.. and I love them so much! Molded my life to where I am now.. Never forget your ideals like ace combat and never giving up through impossible odds like dark souls..
People are definitely gonna recommend the big epic tracks like Megaith/Agnus Dei (AC4), Unsung War (AC5) and Kings (Project Wingman). As you are a guitarist though, I feel I have to back up recommendations for Magic Spear 1/2 and add my own suggestion: Mimic. Its a progressive rock track with layers depending on whether or not youre fighting the pair of enemies or have downed one and are going 1v1 with the remaining pilot, all while a cackling madman shells the two of you with drone-guided airburst railgun shells from beyond the horizon. Absolute chaos and probably the best fight of ace combat 7.
You basically named all my favorites. Ace Combat has always had a place in my heart, AC4 was my first game as a kid.
Cant forget Comona from AC 4
Warning Line from AC2 is forever stuck in my ears...
@@michaelgarcia6919 Hell yeah Comona and Magic Spear 1 & 2 would be a great video
Anchorhead Raid and Invincible Fleet as honorable mentions
theres actually 2 versions of this, this one is where you are fighting in the mission, then theres one where it is played during the end credits, both are awesome.
I think the one played during the end credits is called "Near the Border" although I could be wrong.
@@spinrift8562 no you got it right 👌
Yeah, "Near the border" is another beautiful piece.
@@ralliartfanevoix best creditd theme next to Blue Skies IMO
Tbh I never expected that diving into the lore of Ace Combat would also take me to the lore of it's music
Oh yeah, Ace Combat Zero is basically Has an entire OST with Flamenco Incarnate. Or for the casuals, we called it "Spanish Guitar".
Yeah, belka is pretty much spain for ace combat, so makes sense that all boss fights have some flamenco in them and that the final boss OST has the most epic spanish guitar solo ever
@@thenrgdrink7694 um, no. Belka is German. As for Spain, is Sapin
In universe it would be Sapinish.
Also my favorite referring to Cipher's skill is as follows: Everyone's Razgriz until the sky speaks Flamenco.
Ace Combat is a game series that defined a huge portion of my childhood, in no small part to the music. Ace Combat’s melodies and leitmotifs are some of the most beautifully crafted you’ll ever hear. Subscribing just for the chance to witness you discover more.
I will! And thanks ^_^
Damn man japanese devs put such a weight on ost in their videogames it's insane, completely insane, it's not as common in western games, not that they have bad soundtrack but it's never nearly as iconic but just really good ambient soundtrack
Feel like for western games anything by Hanz Zimmer is goated
@@asilva5021
Not every hanz simmer works is goated btw
For context, this song plays during the final dogfight in the game, a 1 on 1 fight against your former wingman. I won't get into the story specifics, but you fight each other as he's detonating air-burst nuclear weapons to try and kill you, and the fight ends up with you jousting him with your jet because the experimental aircraft he's in is so heavily armored that the only thing you can damage are the air intakes on the front of his jet.

To keep the Ace Combat train going, I think "Magic Spear 1" and "Eastern Wind" from the Ace Combat 7 OST are both very much worth checking out. Literally never played the games, know nothing about the lore but damn has it got good music.
I was the same, i heard most tracks before knowing shit about the games. lmao
But i finally decided to play em all and i'm already at 7 and bruh it has been one hell of a ride.
These requests just keeps better and better, and there are no shortage of amazing video game music to listen to. Might I recommend "Kings" composed by Jose Pavli from Project Wingman?
I'll try my best chief
Yeeeees it is so good. By far, a really good climax to a game that was worked on....by so few as of like...3 to 5 people I believe.
@@krismcallister9107 It was one guy as a creator, programmer and artist, one as writer and producer, one composer, and 37 voice actors.
@@JessesAuditorium I'd better recommend to start with "Calamity" track as it's basically the game's main theme and referenced throughout the whole soundtrack.
The part I love the most about this final fight, is that you have to shoot the final boss head-to-head, like two knights jousting, which is of course the whole legendarium of the game.
"It's just a plane game why are you so hyped"
*Smiles smugly*
"It's just a plane game right?!"
You gotta check out some lf the other tracks too like The Unsung War, Farbanti, Magic Spear and Comona!
If you're a sucker for buildup I'm sure you'd love doing "The Unsung War" from Ace Combat 5 sometime :D
I'm glad your reaction was exactly like mine when I first heard this song, that's how you know it was good
Just for the sake of fairness, I'm going to strongly recommend you to go get the epilogue/credits theme for Zero as well, because hot damn that is amazing.
Also Chandelier/To All Things from Ace Combat 6 is a drastically underrated final boss theme that's just choir.
The best thing about ace combat soundtrack are it already good by its own, but my recommendation is after hearing it, try to hear it while playing it, the feeling hits you twice times harder all of the dialouge, the story and the sound of the war everything mixed up so well
That is the BEST song in Ace combat history. no question about it. though its not the best by that big of a margine..........every single time I hear this song, i'm nearly brought to tears. I first played ace combat zero as a middle schooler, and I was NOT ready for the emotional journey of having to fight for the world against your former best friend turned enemy with this guitar playing.
As an adult I now have the patience to sit through the end credits, and thus have an appreciation for "Near the Border". If you liked Zero, I fully recommend you check out the aforementioned Epilogue song.
In addition to Magic Spear I from AC7 you should also check out Megalith Agnus Dei from AC4!
Don't forget the Unsung war from AC5
i keep on coming back to this reaction because not only am i a huge Ace Combat fanboy, but i just love your reaction to this and all the AC songs. i hope more come soon.

I love this video so much, your reaction put a huge smile on my face the entire time. Thank you!
What a gift that this comes out the same day I start getting into ace combat and videos on it. Great song, great commentary, feel free to go further into it next time!
2:08 the soundtracks of the ace combat series are simply wonderful (HUGS FROM BRAZIL)
This track encapsulated the game and It's storytelling/narrative perfectly. From the battles that made "The Demon of the Round Table" to the "Duel of Fates" that Cipher and Pixy had. The intensity of the orchestral component mixed perfectly with the smooth but absolutely excellent flamingo guitar and tied together by the vocals. It makes you feel like this is the point where the story has reached It's climax. And then, the Epilogue version draws you back in and makes reminisce of the Journey you've been through, from the Tyrann Mountains to the Avalon Damns. Cheers to you for making this series and especially for helping you reliving my childhood!!!
Yay im so glad you did this. AC is so underappreciated from a music standpoint i think. Zero is definitely one of my top favs from the series. I also enjoy how each game mixes up the theme of their music as well. Note: Ace Combat Zero was a prequel to Ace Combat 5 and its events.
I also recommend Unsung War from Ace Combat 5 (mostly chanting and hymns) and Liberation of Gracemeria from Ace Combat 6 (long building intro with a big drop).
And i know you're just doing music but the trailers and intros to these games are just as hype and spine tingling in my opinion.
Looks like it's time for Vamo' alla Flamenco. He'll probably like that one.
I cannot overstate how much pure, unadulterated joy this video has given me, particularly in a time like what we are living through today. It's a perfect mixture of someone experienced in a topic coming into contact with an unconventional implementation of their topic of expertise and being blown away by it. It certainly doesn't help that I'm a die hard Ace Combat fan.
If you want some weird/interesting game music; Zone of the Enders 2: The 2nd Runner - Beyond the Bounds
Your reaction is all I need to be satisfied. Thumbs up.
Ace combat has the best sound tracks and we AC players makes us come back for more
Zero is the sole case of successfully implemented Battle Flamenco I know of. Zero is considered a peak of Ace Combat music - one of Keiki Kobayashi’s shining magnum opi.
Also, genuinely not sure which finale is better - Zero? Or Kings?
Both, both is good
This being the peak of Ace Combat music is already very impressive. The Ace Combat series already has outstanding tracks. What's more impressive is that some of those great tracks are just menu tracks
I didn't even heard it first time from the game but from the trailer. But the trailer is enough for me fall in love with this game.
Also, the end credits song "Near the Border" is great too. Probably my all time favorite end credits song.
This music is incredible! And the fight that goes with it, you fight an old friend... with this music, it's just ultra epic!
What is cool is that the boss fight has multiple stages so the bits of the song that are slower can fit in to the areas of the fight where you are transitioning between boss forms, or when you are getting exposition about how to beat him.
When I heard this song in the game, encapsulated the entire battle against Pixy, your former ally. It brought a feel of like there was deadly dance in the sky. Its like two Knights squaring off for joisting both wanting to hit with precision, and impact. It was what made the ending of Ace Combat Zero such an awesome experience.
Ah Yes Flamenco Love it! And if you want to try the "Three times the passion of ordinary flamenco" it's from Gundam Build Fighters ,yeah it's not from a Game it's from an anime ,but this song is one of the many things that's introduced me into Flamenco, love the good works Sir 👍
When I was watching your video, I was like: " I know my friends, it's perfect... I know"
This song completely blows me away every time I listen to it. Perfect music to write to
Zero without a doubt is an all-time classic, a masterpiece no one could ignore in game music history
When people say "you're a grown man why do you still play video games, that's for kids", I laugh in joy remembering Aço Combat, Octopath Traveler, MegaMan soundtracks. It's not just a game, it's an experience and if you pay attention you can find amazing things from amazing people inside this games.
Ace Combat has some amazing soundtracks, love your reactions
one Ace Combat song that i have yet to see recommended is "Fighter's Honor" from Ace Combat 3D (aswell as what's called the "flying remix") these two are just breathtaking and the best way i can define the sound is majestic. not sure if it would be something you'd like, given that i've just found the channel trough this video, but im definitely staying
This game needs more love, I hope namco give it some sort of rerelease. Imo this game is the perfect example of gameplay, story and soundtrack meshing together perfectly to create a proper experience. Also the flamenco/Spanish influence in this song work so well since you have to charge head on to the boss to be able to do damage, like you’re doing a bullfight in the sky.
When Belka bit into the CURAZY HAMBURGER
My friend who never even played Ace Combat before, got hyped as hell when he heard this track and heard the flamenco guitar
"Liberation of Gracemeria" from Ace Combat 6 is also pretty great (tbh, so is the rest of the series' music), but it really can't hold a candle to this.
Also your song you linked is really amazing.
Amazing piece that goes so perfectly with the storyline at this point in the game. It's tragic, melancholic, and you are being forced to fight the man who flew by your side and watched your back through so many missions. He has become so disillusioned by the war and conflict that something as arbitrary (in his view) lines on a map cause, that he has just said "Fuck it, we're destroying it all and starting over from scratch, cause it's the only way it is ever going to stop".
Ace combat zero was a master piece ahead of its time story as amazing and really got me into the series
One suggestion that not many people have put forward is Enchanter 1 from Ace Combat 7 (specifically the version put together by Zaptroxix since the ingame track is separated into dynamically-used sections). It's wild to have something that sometimes sounds straight out of Star Wars or Gundam in Ace Combat, but it works amazingly well!
This song is so goooood, my favourite since i was in elementary school, and it's still give the same chills
And there's no dislike, i hope no one dislike this video... Like come on dude.. what not to love from the song and the guy reacting it😁
"ZERO", "THE ROUND TABLE" and "NEAR THE BORDER".. the best ost's in AC ZERO
Even now, i can remember the last battle.
so emotional.
Ace combat zero is absolutely awesome game.
Wow this is truly amazing. Thank you all for requesting and reacting
Reacting to your requests tomorrow! Which means they'll be uploaded before / on the weekend.
This is way better than I expected it was gonna be! Never seen this game before and just assumed it was gonna be some generic action background music
I think you don't have to play flamenco to know this is amazing.
Da pra ver que segurou o choro de felicidade 🥲😄😄😄
When the vocal come on in.. And the tango of the two ace fighters formerly fight arm in arm... intertwined in a dogfight.. Intense in action but in a way feels sad too... I love this.. Most remembered game ost of my time
There's a reason why this is my favorite Ace Combat games of all time.
This is one of the biggest ones.
If you want a bit more of this, then you gotta listen to The Round Table. Absolute banger of an OST.
"This twisted game needs to be reset. We'll start from 'zero' with this V2 and entrust the future to the next generation."
Ace combat is an absolute example of the rule of cool. If an idea sounds cool, they fuckin' do it bro. Flamenco in a damn dogfight ? YES! Delaying a game just for one more banger of an OST in it ? Count me in ! They are the absolute gigachads of the video game industry imho
This is the title that accompanies the final climactic battle between the protag against his former friend. A duel between aces in their planes, raging over the Belkan Priority One Strategic Airspace B7R aka the 'Round Table '. That's the context of the song. Two former friends in their planes matching each other's moves just like two flamenco dancers.
You really need to listen to "With Ether's" Ace Combat Medley, they tackle this song head first and its absolutely beautiful
I was one of the many people saying this was something you needed to hear :) you GOTTA get THUNDER FORCE IV『Lightning Strikes Again - Metal Squad』 on your listen list. its SO good.
Imagine hearing this song in the middle of the mission.. you should listen to Unsung War and Agnus Dei as well if you have the time.. or play the actual game and feel what we felt during the missions when these songs played..☺️ amazing video.. definitely a sub from me..
It will be fantastic you to do a cover of this song...assured eargasm.
A personal video game favorite. You never really know what great music you'll find in them.
Most games with this heavy a plot from Japan usually have Ominous Latin Chanting.
Here, we have ***Ominous Mexican Castanets~***
I love vibing to music with Dracula from Castlevania (JK man 😅)
Been binge watching your content, keep it up man!
Great song, Great video, Liberation of Gracemeria next.
Definitely listen to all of Ace Combat Zero’s ost. You’ll love “The Round Table”. If you want to listen to something more melancholic then listen to “Prelude”, “Una Limosnita Por Amor de Dios”, “The Bird Spread Its Wings”, and “Session” from Ace Combat 4
If you ever want to go with Ace Combat again, check out "first flight" from AC5. Also "The Liberation of Gracemeria" from AC6, with it's full on 3 minutes buildup
5:53 "It's time..."
The Ace Combat series has had all sorts of excellent music. Ace Combat 4 had Magus Dai and Ace Combat 5 had an incredible soundtrack as well. You should also check out Ace Combat 6 and the track chandelier. It's interesting.
Ace Combat: Come for the jet fighting, stay for the batshit crazy storylines and incredible soundtracks.
In this game any time a boss fight starts they bust out the Flamenco guitars.
Dang with that somba style music I
Guess the jet dogfight is like a dance… a sky dance.
Knowing this, you should check off-cam "Seth special theme", it is very short but you could enjoy it. (Bravely Default II)
Just the song without the gameplay is mwah, perfect. But with the gameplay involved when you have to fight your ex-wingman is just chef's kiss.
this is not music this is rollercoaster of emotions
If you want to see some crazy soundtracks in a videogame, try the Advance Wars series, which is known for having largely good soundtracks.
There are several in particular that doesn't sound right (at first) in the games but fit their characters _to a T_ like the Jazz of Sensei (old paratrooper that came out of retirement and one of the most popular to remix until Reboot Camp arrived, which (funnily enough) had the band of one of those remixes make that particular pair of tracks in the remake), the Country of Grit (the laid-back artilleryman who can snipe you from a square further than usual and gets _VERY_ scary when he gets his powers), or the Waltz of Sojna (daughter of the leader of one of the factions, information/intel specialist with her day-to-day being increased vision range and her powers basically removing your ability to hide).
"Never judge a book by its cover"
Funny shit. I picked up AC0 purely on a whim, 'cuz I was totally new to the franchise, only having played AC3, which was in Japanese, on my playstation ages prior. I fell in love with it.
Strange though it might sound... I've scarcely played a game that has more respect for the player, than Ace Combat Zero does.

The Round Table is also great on flamenco elements, maybe not as good as this one, but it deserves a go. Then outside of this style, The Liberation of Gracemaria. Besides the most popular ones like Unsung War, Megalith or Daredevil.
Only so few songs can give me goosebumps, and most of them are from the Ace Combat series...
One of my fav. Ace Combat has such under rated OST appreciation lol
One of my favorite OSTs in a video game, bar none
Beyond impressed so far
This is one of my favorites along with Archange and Daredevil off of AC7.
It's the Andalusian cadence basically being used and the rhythm is rumba flamenca (not necessarily traditional flamenco which has a lot of "palos" or styles) the very beginning actually is cut from this version where you hear the guitarist doing runs going from Am (in a dissonant chord quality which i forgot).
I dissected this song first when it came out during my classical guitar/flamenco study days.
"What is happening?"
