My uncle was deported from America about in 2015 and is currently living in Phnom Sampov, Battambang. In this video series, I'll be living with him for several weeks and documenting what life is like here in his village. In today's episode, I've just arrived back to my uncle's village and today, we'll be doing a little fishing and then hanging out with some of his friends from Oakland, CA.

That's good to hear! I'm learning alot from just being there only 2 months. Even editing the videos, I go back and can really listen to what people are saying.
You are American born Kheme? Sorry to say your English is very poor lol🤣

@@SokhenIn you can also use coke to clean your headlights apparently
Hey Savi, whatever happens to your family back in the States? Why are you living so far away from your loved ones?
I would love to leave the states also if I didn’t have children here, life is better in srok Khmer, more affordable than the American and more safe! we have so much crazy things going on like racism and gun violence just too much things that don’t make sense to live here!
@@khmerorchidyoung3445 I'm sorry your lived experience in America has not been favorable for you. I guess we all have our separate realities no matter where we live on this Earth. People in Cambodia wish to settle in America, while some people from America want to settle in Cambodia. It is like rain water coming down from the sky. Some perspectives consider rain is bad to them, while some perspectives consider rain a blessing for them to have water for drinking, washing, cooking, cleaning, etc. I would never trade America for Srok Khmer at all. Thank you for your perspective.
@@longmann6466 Buddha bless you, thank you for your opinion, thank goodness I’m not living in your reality.
Kinda random question but does anyone know any good online resources for learning Khmer?
Great video. How many months out of the year are you in Cambodia filming?
It just depends how busy I am in the US, but usually I'm there 1-2 months to film and then come back for awhile.
Do they want to go back to Canada?
nah, Ta Nganh was telling me they offered him to return but he said he rather stay in Cambodia
CC / CCL family
Hell yea...#cambofam
America has such a brutal policy toward deportees. I know a guy who work in the U.S for 40 years and he is now fighting deportation because he has a domestic arrest record 27 years ago.
What's really fucked up is the fact that they will stop paying his social security benefits if he is reported. How would he survive? He's never worked anywhere else but U.S. To me that is a fucking brutal. If they deport him, at least don't take away his benefits since he had worked for it.
Are you in Battambang now brother?
@@ThydaCookingTV not right now but be back soon 😉
@@saviyou I want to shoot video with you in Phnom Sampov when you come back what do you think?
@@ThydaCookingTV Yes we can shoot a video together, I will be back in Aug
Savi I'll come with you in August would love to make an appearance when you and Thyda shoot a video together. Lol

@California2Cambodia congratulations 🎉 , make sure you keep speaking khmer to him. It doesn't take very long to lose the mother tongue.
How long have you been a deportee for? You're living lavish for a deportee
