I have tried this Android unit and I had to take it out again. The no. 1 reason is that the OEM microphone of the car is not used but a tiny small microphone on the right side of the unit. No way to use handsfree with this unit. Also, Carplay (Zlink app) keeps crashing or BT is not connecting. I have not found any Android unit that uses the car's OEM microphone and I will never put anything without it.

U will have to use a Video Camera cable thats yellow from the OEM radio port (green in colour) to transfer camera video (CV- AND CA+) to the top Andriod Camera cable Yellow too and then u are good to go

Mine, which I installed, has been installed for 5 months but now there is no sound on the right side of the car, but on the radio there is sound on all doors, only on Android media, Spotify, RUclips, etc... it's just that the sound doesn't work on the right side
If you have to use the AUX to USB box the audio quality is horrific. I’m going to be trying an FM modulator as a work around, this is a hardwire solution, not to be confused with the fm transmitter.
If playing via oem car bluetooth that is same how before, but if your sound going through the android Bluetooth and usb aux converter is little bit worse.

Thanks for the install instructions. I just completed the installation and am having one problem. The reverse/backup camera feature doesn't work. When I put the car in reverse and the android screen is already booted up, absolutely nothing happens. I need to go to the NTG menu to see the back up camera and it works fine there. Any ideas?
@@SuperShowtimers the setting is already at oem camera so I’m not sure what the problem is or how to fix it. I do not have an aftermarket camera. I posted a video on my channel of the problem if you want to see it. Thanks..... I eventually figured out the problem. I had to make a change in the factory settings under CAN protocol from 5.0C to 5.0A.

For anyone having issues with the carplay not connecting sometimes just go to the tablet SETTINGS -> Wifi and connections -> hotspot -> Make sure it's active and on 2.4 ghz. sometimes it's not working in 5 ghz and that's why it does not connect.
The hotspot in android unit working if you have inserted sim card not? If you want using hotspot from your phone you must just go to wifi , no hotspot. And carplay works via Bluetooth

Howcome it doesn’t have wireless android auto like the others? And it doesn’t have the direction assist (or whatever it’s called lol) on the screen when in reverse, like the others. Is this android 11 or 12?
The purpose of the USB adapter is to feed the music output from the android screen into the original amp and speakers, therefore it needs to be plugged into one of the two USB ports in the console, as they are inputs to the amp. Plugging into one of the coloured USBs would just connect the screen back into itself. These may be used for transferring data/music files to the screen, or an SD card plugged into it, from a USB device. When setting up, you can, for example, plug the USB adapter into one of the console ports and a USB thumb drive into the other and then select which input to use from the devices selection in the Media tab under the NTG menu option on the screen - allowing you to play sound from the screen, or from the USB device. (One thing that invariably catches me out, no matter how often I do it, is that you must use the original selection wheel or touch pad on the console when in the NTG menu, and not the touch screen. Touching the screen will take you back to the android menu).

I have problem with my w205 Mercedes-Benz. Its screen appeared “ Boot Loader Active” and could not run the operation on the screen. since a few days my phone isn’t connecting anymore with the Bluetooth so no music calls car play of any kind works now and don’t know how to fix it? at Bluetooth telephone it now says not activated i think there’s something wrong with that. also in the android settings it shows nothing at the Bluetooth setting really weird and it worked before so something must be not right?
I fixed the issue, turns out I hadn't properly connected the quadlock. Stupid issue that I caused myself but worth checking if you have any issues. Now I have discovered a new issue, the sound quality is actually quite bad now. There seems to be almost no bass, as if the subwoofers are not even working. I've tried to look through all the settings but can't make it work. The sound is like this regardless of what input is selected, so I have a feeling it's something to do with the aux connection, like putting it into stereo has dropped the subs off?
My reverse camera and the volume doesn’t work... I changed to OEM camera but doesn’t work and Audio cable and box connected and connected to USB in car but nothing works any ideas? Maybe faults cables? But the stereo turns on.
hello i bought a cla 45 amg with one of these already installed and i was wondering how i can get into the factory setting since i dont have a code. Is it written somewhere in box (the previous owner gave me the box for the screen and the og screen). Also i always have to connect to bluetooth in the mb app and then go to zlink in order to get audio. I dont get audio when i just connect to zlink. Please someone help because having to connect to bluetooth and then go to zlink for apple carplay is really annoying.

You haven't plugged in the sound connector - see at 6:40. Don't be confused by bluetooth working, you will note that the apple sounds (eg siri or reading text messages) don't work even though playing music may.

for anyone doing this setup, removing the glove box is not necessary you can just feed all the cables In behind the radio

You can do it via the engineering menu on ntg 4.5 so probably can on ntg5. i.e. you don't need a garage to do it for you.

Yes, sound quality is still the same, if not better. HOWEVER you need a unit like ours, with good audio OUT.

If you had the basic audio 20 system in your merc, you can’t code aux input. It’s like that for the UK at least.

Go setting, system, camera selection and change it to OEM CAMERA

No for the screen you must using attached antennas. But your oem keep fully functioning for your oem system.

You have to install the mic and speaker. This guy doesn’t mention that.
mine works if you go to Audio on the MB-Screen and select AUX

The original microphone was perfect on the original screen but it’s has echo on the new android screen so I bought an additional microphone but I don’t know where can I connect it to make my sound better when I speak by phone on hands free otherwise I use my phone speaker instead if I call . any suggestions ?

since a few days my phone isn’t connecting anymore with the Bluetooth so no music calls car play of any kind works now and don’t know how to fix it?
at Bluetooth telephone it now says not activated i think there’s something wrong with that.
also in the android settings it shows nothing at the Bluetooth setting really weird and it worked before so something must be not right?

I'm not getting any signal from my NTG despite being sure to plug in the cable you said to plug in, in your video.
If anyone else has this issue, I contacted my retailer and they said to check under factory settings > car type > NTG 5.0
I fixed the issue, turns out I hadn't properly connected the quadlock. Stupid issue that I caused myself but worth checking if you have any issues.
Now I have discovered a new issue, the sound quality is actually quite bad now. There seems to be almost no bass, as if the subwoofers are not even working. I've tried to look through all the settings but can't make it work. The sound is like this regardless of what input is selected, so I have a feeling it's something to do with the aux connection, like putting it into stereo has dropped the subs off?
With the phone link app and car play, does the command knob work with it? So I can control car play with the knob and not use the touch screen?

My reverse camera and the volume doesn’t work... I changed to OEM camera but doesn’t work and Audio cable and box connected and connected to USB in car but nothing works any ideas? Maybe faults cables? But the stereo turns on.

@@nofear4890 reset the system camera worked and enable the usb on the media interface of the Mercedes stereo it’s mainly the settings

hello i bought a cla 45 amg with one of these already installed and i was wondering how i can get into the factory setting since i dont have a code. Is it written somewhere in box (the previous owner gave me the box for the screen and the og screen). Also i always have to connect to bluetooth in the mb app and then go to zlink in order to get audio. I dont get audio when i just connect to zlink. Please someone help because having to connect to bluetooth and then go to zlink for apple carplay is really annoying.

You shouldn't install this screen, it is usually installed on cars before 2019 with ntg5

You haven't plugged in the sound connector - see at 6:40. Don't be confused by bluetooth working, you will note that the apple sounds (eg siri or reading text messages) don't work even though playing music may.
