Only the last 10 seconds were awkward because Stephen was forcing Jai into accepting what could be considered an offensive, stereotypical portrayal of an Australian. I feel like the majority of people judge Jai based on his acting career rather than who he is as a person. The drugs part is definitely true... They be like kids at a candy store with the prices; every country in the world is cheap AF compared to Aussie drug prices(except maybe NZ).
Nomadic In The Philippines Damn, that is one hell of a story. Sadly a believable one, as being loud, trying to bang as many chicks as possible, and being lax with drug taking is definitely embedded in our party culture down under. And the thing you do most whilst overseas is party. I mean those are only the worst traits, but they are there
Peanut Beak It takes 2 people to have a conversation. It doesn't matter how skilled Colbert is if the other guy doesn't want to say anything. The fact he got through that interview without making it too awkward is credit enough to Colbert.

How excited Canadians get in Australia if you ask where in Canada they are from. I started a new job back in the 1990s and was introduced to the Big Boss as we call them. Head of the Department. After his secretary introduced us, I was super shy and didn't really know what to say, but I said "Nice to meet you and what part of Canada are you from" He stared at me and I thought I upset him and was about to cry. He then said "I could hug you right now" sounding like he heard the best thing in his life and a smile from ear to ear. You are the first person in 20 years to be in Australia and not be asked where in America I come from". Feeling the red on my face, I could only squeak out "Well, they must not have listened to you properly or don't know the difference. " Back then I could pick out anyone from anywhere in the world. Today not so much because I lost my listening skills plus with a mixture of various ethnicities it's hard to pin point it sometimes.
Alot of people talking about how awkward the interview was. I gotta agree, but it's not all Jai's fault. Yes, he's clearly not a complete extrovert so interviews don't seem to come naturally to him. But it's also about the questions. There's more to Australia than frigging boomerangs and crocodile dundee and "throw a shrimp on the barbie". If Americans were going on chat shows and being interviewed on tired old cliche subjects that stereotyped Americans, they might get sick of it after a while too.

and the crowd goes mild
Man I remember this guy in Spartacus. He's come a long way.
Long way down.
I'm sure his bank account disagrees with you
Of course he is rich and famous now. But the work he did since Spartacus doesn't compare, in my opinion.
this is super awkward lol
dudes on drugs, he's jawing like crazy
colbert's just off his game cause he's been doing nothing but political jokes for the past month.
Stephen: "what does the boomerang guy do"
Jai "he throws boomerangs!...."
Lol i cant
This comment section makes my Canadian heart so happy. We love you aussies too!
Steve's Aussie accent was better than I thought it would be.
Really enjoyed Jai's character Varro in Spartacus Blood and Sand.
3:43 his laugh aaaa!
He has a flawless American accent
lol There was a news story out about how much canadians are hating on aussies these days due to the tainting of there reps in and around ski towns and citys.
How were they tainting their rep?

I havent been around it much at all but the story i saw said they are very loud, annoying, banging as many chicks as possible, doing lots of drugs becuz there cheap here compared to australia, fights, and ect, and ect. And hundreds on facebook confirmed that they arnt liked by many in those areas
The drugs part is definitely true... They be like kids at a candy store with the prices; every country in the world is cheap AF compared to Aussie drug prices(except maybe NZ).
Nomadic In The Philippines
Damn, that is one hell of a story. Sadly a believable one, as being loud, trying to bang as many chicks as possible, and being lax with drug taking is definitely embedded in our party culture down under. And the thing you do most whilst overseas is party.
I mean those are only the worst traits, but they are there
So basically acting like Canadians visiting Mexico and Thailand.
He's like a Jon Favreau that works out
lmfao
looks more like Chris Martin.
+chris71388 yes, I see it!
We really do love Canadians. 😂😂
Hello❤️...Thanks for your love and support you always shown me...Greetings from Jai Courtney
I'm probably the only one that really enjoyed Terminator: Genisys, including Jai Courtney's performance.
that was an awkward interview
LoL Jai Courtney is just jarringly disingenuous, or maybe he only seems that way, all of the time.
The interviewee respond to the questions so Stephen struggled to keep the conversation going.
+luke666808g wasn't him that made it awkward
Peanut Beak Colbert has some great interviews. I don't think his skills are lacking.
Peanut Beak It takes 2 people to have a conversation. It doesn't matter how skilled Colbert is if the other guy doesn't want to say anything. The fact he got through that interview without making it too awkward is credit enough to Colbert.
watching this again after reading an interview in which he said he doesn't like it when people try to do impressions of the Aussie accent and it makes much more sense why he looks annoyed when Stephen did it.
You could tell Jai effing hated doing this interview. Also, love to Australia from Canada.
he did for sure from an aussie perspective he wanted to punch him 99% of the time he got more fed up when he would say that america is like Australia when aussies aren't ignorant whatsoever its like saying canada is like america
wow
Top 3 Jai Courtney's Roles

3rd Kyle Reese
Today not so much because I lost my listening skills plus with a mixture of various ethnicities it's hard to pin point it sometimes.
man jai courtney is like the coolest guy ever. personally and in looks
Jai is amazing, he have very talent.
Hello❤️...Thanks for your love and support you always shown me...Greetings from Jai Courtney
3:15 he did the finger
Alot of people talking about how awkward the interview was. I gotta agree, but it's not all Jai's fault. Yes, he's clearly not a complete extrovert so interviews don't seem to come naturally to him. But it's also about the questions. There's more to Australia than frigging boomerangs and crocodile dundee and "throw a shrimp on the barbie". If Americans were going on chat shows and being interviewed on tired old cliche subjects that stereotyped Americans, they might get sick of it after a while too.
And Canadians love him too lol
Lol I'm Greek who lives in the UK for 5 years now.. I should say I love Australians and Canadians but not as much as Americans (nothing against Americans just Personal opinion) I can literally understand his humour.
Wonderfull actor.
Jai looks like he wants to punch Colbert in the face the whole time. Especially when he puts him on the spot for the accent. What's up with that?
ITS SO TRUE. IVE DATED LIKE 4 AUSSIES
