- Alan came to see NewArt’s little production of Newsies, along with Ben Fankhauser and Harvey Fierstein. Alan preformed his Disney Medley for all of the kids before their opening show giving them the hope and joy before their big performance.
Can you believe all of these songs are made by only ‘one person’? - yes. He is Alan.

Howard Ashman was also a huge part of producing these songs. Without Howard, there would be no Alan (Howard got him the job at Disney).
If Alan Menken played Go the Distance and Colors of the Wind in front of me, I would literally die of joy.

How wonderful! I can literally feel the atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm in the room, only through watching this video! How I envy (but only in a positive way😊) this meeting and performance. It's impossible not to sing along with Mr. Alan and young actors! 😀 I'm sure they did great!

Fantastic. The worst mistake is all those producers who hire this man as a composer and then hand the lyrics to someone else.
Alan Menken was never known to write his own lyrics, it's a shame that his lyricist Howard Ashman died young
