I only got into them recently, and am kicking myself for refusing to be girly back then, because I know I would have liked their music back then as well.

At the time when boybands were all about being 'edgy', 'cool', 'manly' whatever the hell that meant, SS501 dared to take the risk and go with the cute and funny concept. They knew they took a huge risk, that's why when this song finally got No.1 they all cried. Baby could barely stand up.
But I remember before this came out the silly-cutesy concept was a BIG thing already with kpop boybands? TVXQ Ballons, Super Junior Happiness, even H.O.T.'s Candy which came out as far back as 1996 just to name a few. I cant remember much but I remember I watched a lot of music bank years before this song came out and this concept was legit everywhere being one of the most popular concepts in kpop. The 'edgy', 'cool', 'manly' thing or whatever was something that became an obsession more around 2008. That's how 2PM came out in 2008 claiming to be trying to do something "different" by being "manly" and Beast debut in 2009 calling themselves "beastly" bc they claimed to be not "cute" like other kpop boyband boys.

I remember specifically music bank 2005-2007 was practically ALL cutesy fun stuff when i used to watch it on kbs. My whole point is it wasn't a "risk" at all because it was still the time where "cute" always sold no matter what. That's why every boyband jumping on the new manly concept bandwagon still came out with the occasional chart topping cutesy song or at least did a whole bunch of cutesy themed stage performances because the fans still V much ate that ish up.
I'm not a girl.. but I'm a boy, and yet These dudes here is still my all time favourite until now.. BTS or whatever I don't care at all.. Really missed their time in 'Boy Over Flowers'
