  • Lowes also sells an adapter in the electrical conduit section that doesn't need cut but still needs sanded because of lettering stamped into it. I prefer the piece I used because the flange is wider giving the adapter more contact with the gasket. Either adapter will work.

    Congrats on becoming my new best friend. Someone get this man a beer. Worked fantastic. I used this method in conjunction with 1.5 PVC flexible tubing to tie into my intex stuff. Worked flawlessly

    Thank you so much for your video. I made this conversion last summer and followed your advice. I got the parts at the local Lowes (Myrtle Beach). It worked perfect. Today I put it all back together for the season. Just thought I would let you know how much this helped me!

    I used a 1 1/2 in x 1 1/4 in bushing in found for about $0.75 each at Home Depot. I sanded the lettering off on the flange part to get a better seal on the washer. Works great. Thanks for the idea.

    Cool idea. Although, they do sell an adapter that comes in a 2 pack and comes with 2 flat rubber gaskets and 2 o-rings. They're threaded on both sides one for Intex, Coleman, Game or similar connections temporary pool setups hoses use, I think it's 40mm, and one side to screw a 1 -1/2 PVC female adapter to without doing any modifications on your part.

    I just added a thru wall skimmer today to my intex pool and was just thinking I need to convert my intex to pvc and get rid of all their flex tubing.

    Thanks for the solution to the Intex non standard 2" fittings. Their (Intex) non-standard 2" fitting headache is the reason I will never buy another product from that self-centered company. Hope all of you pass the word to others to avoid companies with only priority equipment.

    Thanks so much for sharing this. I've been racking my brain on how to connect my salt pump to my new sand filter and pump. Getting ready to finish plumbing everything in. The paper filters are crap! I advise anyone with an intex pump system to change over to a sand filter and 1 hp pump system. Its well worth the money to have a good system installed

    I found some in Home Depot that you don’t have to cut, you just have sand them. They are called PVC brushing 1-1/2 to 1-1/4. I also bought some gaskets for it.

    Awesome video thanks for this.. if you are missing the gasket that goes in the nut that goes on the SWG connector.. any suggestions on what part number or where in a lowes to find something compatible (looked in store before and didnt know what and where to find)..

    • @sschrec1
      @sschrec1  7 лет назад

      Mark Murrin I'm assuming you have the SWG like the one in the video. If so, you'll probably have to get it from Intex. Companies like them usually don't use standard parts you can get at a hardware store.

    • @markmurrin788
      @markmurrin788 7 лет назад

      Well, i thought that ace had rubber gaskets like this, but they didnt have any. I think the next best alternative would be to find a rubber gasket that is thin and flat and cut it to fit the opening if need be. Fortunately for me, i found the missing gasket and all is good. Thanks for that video and info.. it worked out great.

    You would think, as many people that are switching over to pvc, Intex or some other company would make that piece to sell to the public, instead of the public making their own rig?

    I've got a aftermarket large sand filter pump. And gave the coleman pool. I'm trying to figure out a connector from the factory in-text style hose to adapts to to the 1 1/2" new pump large black hose. Don't wanna cut the intex pipe if their is a adapter that will connect the two.

    TIP if you have threads on the inside of your pumps (intake / output) you can just buy a screew in coupler , it comes in 1 1/2 (bimart acehardware)

    Dear Blue Fade.....
    My pool has dual suction outlets.....I have the B adapters and a 2500gph pump, but I cant seem to find the right plunger. The manual shows a "T-style" plunger, but I have no idea on the P/N...... any help?

    • @hellokitty781000
      @hellokitty781000 8 лет назад +2

      I have a dual style as well. I am just going to not use the stock "T" plunger as they are notorious to leak. I am going to use 2 ball valves (1 per side) and have those T into a single outlet before the pump
