INTEX transition to PVC
Просмотров 220 тыс.11 лет назад
Lowes also sells an adapter in the electrical conduit section that doesn't need cut but still needs sanded because of lettering stamped into it. I prefer the piece I used because the flange is wider giving the adapter more contact with the gasket. Either adapter will work. www.lowes.com/pd_22654-1814-PVC 00111 0800_4294765366 ?productId=3357806&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1¤tURL=?N...
Beautiful!! Thanks
😳👍👍🤗 just subscribed n thumbs up ….. I was about to order & spend $20 plus on the actual fittings I needed to do just this 😳 thank you for your knowledge 🙂🤗👍👍
You could sell that assembly easily for $10-15 all day long.
Why doesn’t anyone sell that?
Bro you save the day, and you save a lot of headaches to so many people
Does it have to have a round lip on it my has corners to it
I can’t figure out what fittings I need for mine lol my pool has a little black hose sticking out so I have no idea how I’m supposed to connect a 1.25” hose to a smaller piece of rubber
Thank you! This video was a tremendous help to hard pipe my intex pool. An excellent idea with the street male adapter. I just finished plumbing my pool and there are no leaks and the adapter works great!
THANK YOU. It is fucking insanity that this piece does not exist on Amazon or anywhere I looked!
Cool idea. Although, they do sell an adapter that comes in a 2 pack and comes with 2 flat rubber gaskets and 2 o-rings. They're threaded on both sides one for Intex, Coleman, Game or similar connections temporary pool setups hoses use, I think it's 40mm, and one side to screw a 1 -1/2 PVC female adapter to without doing any modifications on your part.
Genius bro, thanks,!
Thanks so much for sharing this. I've been racking my brain on how to connect my salt pump to my new sand filter and pump. Getting ready to finish plumbing everything in. The paper filters are crap! I advise anyone with an intex pump system to change over to a sand filter and 1 hp pump system. Its well worth the money to have a good system installed

this should be how not to plumb your pool
Cool. Maybe you could enlighten everyone with your plumbing expertise.
What is the price
what is the diameter
This was a brilliant solution I had not thought of. Thank you.
The one thing this guy didn’t tell everybody was when the kids are swimming and rocking and rolling in the pool those rigid connections and the flexing of the side of the pool don’t make a happy marriage. This guy had more leaks than a crowded men’s room
I didn't know you came to my back yard and did an inspection. Go troll someone else's comment section.
Did you switch it back over to flex again after realizing the pool moves?
No. And I never had any issues with leaks or broken pipes.
@@sschrec1 Then floating dead bodies must’ve been enjoying the pool, because I don’t believe a word of it
Not sure if this is a good idea, the liner is so flexible that it will put a lot of stress on the PVC piping…
I tryed it and it didn’t work, I had a 1 1/2 “ street adapter ,cut the threads and the intro ring nut was to small to slip over the adapter, didn’t fit,
lowe's number 22654 work fine for me. upc number 6 11942 03298 3 hope this helps
What is the part number for the coupling. The coupling I bought was the same size so it did not fit on the adapter
This looks like the part i used but it has a different name so i can't say for sure. www.lowes.com/pd/Charlotte-Pipe-1-1-2-in-x-1-1-2-in-dia-PVC-Schedule-40-Spigot-Fitting-Adapter-Fitting/3357806
Any updates on these parts. The links no longer work and I want to purchase the right thing. I’ve been back and fourth 4 times

TIP if you have threads on the inside of your pumps (intake / output) you can just buy a screew in coupler , it comes in 1 1/2 (bimart acehardware)
You could probably just use a reducer bushing also.
going crazy
Thank you!
Bro. The best is sometimes the simplest !!! You rock!!!
That my Dad
Congrats on becoming my new best friend. Someone get this man a beer. Worked fantastic. I used this method in conjunction with 1.5 PVC flexible tubing to tie into my intex stuff. Worked flawlessly
You would think, as many people that are switching over to pvc, Intex or some other company would make that piece to sell to the public, instead of the public making their own rig?
I just added a thru wall skimmer today to my intex pool and was just thinking I need to convert my intex to pvc and get rid of all their flex tubing. So 1, thank you for this And 2, how odd that this would randomly show up in my suggested videos to watch. Big brother!
@Kyle Oneill Do you have a link? I typed in 6"x1 1/2" flanged PVC in Home Depot search and came up with 1,624 results.
Kyle Oneill thank you.
I've got a aftermarket large sand filter pump. And gave the coleman pool. I'm trying to figure out a connector from the factory in-text style hose to adapts to to the 1 1/2" new pump large black hose. Don't wanna cut the intex pipe if their is a adapter that will connect the two.
Is there no coupling that threads directly onto the pump?
None that I'm aware of.
I looked everywhere and don't think they exist. This idea is by far among the best. There's also a 1 1/2 bushing in the electrical conduit section that seems to be another good option and you don't need to cut.
I'm not sure why I think this is in Chicago. Anyways- great job..do you still have this setup?
I don't have it anymore. The saltwater rusted out the posts after 2 years. I'm in PA but there is a book that was written about the town I live in called Little Chicago. Lol.
@@sschrec1 I'm from Chitown so something about the houses behind reminds me of home..anyways do you think if I only go sand filtering and spray rustoleum that this would work
I found that the street connectors at most hardware stores are slightly smaller than 1.5"...regardless of what scd pipe. The easiest way to get them to fit is with a heat gun.
What fittings did you use for the outake ?

Sorry I meant the intake. I have two intakes on my pool. One is the Skimmer and the other one is just normal intake
Thank you, had hose clamp and busted off. Inside building for pond.. This will eliminate that and I can sleep knowing it will not leak.
Thank you so much for this video been working on trying to connect mine
Genius!
خخخ
Well done mate... exactly what we want to hear and no bullshit. Great video.
One of the cleanest setups I've seen.
just awesome!! thank you
just grabbed the parts and it worked great. thanks for this, it saved me a ton of hassle and a ton of money
I found some in Home Depot that you don’t have to cut, you just have sand them. They are called PVC brushing 1-1/2 to 1-1/4. I also bought some gaskets for it.
Where did you find the gaskets?
Whats a brushing

Thank you for taking the time to post this video!
Great great video man u most b a plumber 👍
Gonna make these connections this summer... Thanks for the info. Don't understand the nobs who gave this video a thumbs down...
I used a 1 1/2 in x 1 1/4 in bushing in found for about $0.75 each at Home Depot. I sanded the lettering off on the flange part to get a better seal on the washer. Works great. Thanks for the idea.
I know it's 5 years old lol do you have the link for this bidding from home Depot?
