The fact that a primarily Nintendo-focused youtuber can sum up all the main problems of the mob vote and how to fix it in about 10 minutes really says something
Suggestion: Instead of voting for which of 3 mobs are added. Vote for HOW 1 mob will be added. Mojang say that the mobs they present in the videos are only ideas at this stage, they come up with a "use" and will only decide fully how to implement it, if it wins. So scrap that, pick 1 really cool mob like a Penguin for example, and let the vote be for what the Penguin does. (E.g. Option (a) It speeds your boat up. Option (b) It picks up items dropped in the water and fetches them back to you. Option (c) Improves your traction on ice, while maintaining speed benefits)
@@lucasmatthiessen1570i feel like that could be a whole separate thing. like if they did a mob design contest with specific guidelines to take into account.
I like the idea apart from the fact that most people aren't game designers, and thus, we will most probably get a very steep popwer creep, where people just vote for the most "powerful" mob.
I definitely like this idea way more. Having the mob vote choose the order of what gets added instead of deleting interesting ideas is a much better system. I do hope some of the ideas from past mob votes return because, especially the three that lost in the first vote, were really interesting.
8:11 As a shadow fan i can confirm that my parole officer told me to say that i never killed anyone, and that if i did, hypothetically, i honestly regret it and will probably never do it again
I straight up don’t understand what thought process led to mojang coming up with the phantom in the first place, and then people actually voting it in, an extremely unfortunate combination of baffling game design and voters just not even reading the description of what they’re voting for,
You going over the previous mob votes really made me realize just how long it’s been since I last played Minecraft. I haven’t played it since before the Allay won that mob vote.
It’s crazy to think we actually lose more mobs than we get. Whatever happened to the other mobs? Did mojang just forget about them? Why make mob ideas and tease them just so you can take them away and never use them?
Recycling mob vote mobs feels like a no brainer. Why why WHY would Mojang go through the trouble of designing three new mobs _every year_ when they have so many unused mob ideas already... mob ideas that fans REALLY want to see again! Honestly bringing back the old mobs would be better publicity then making new ones, especially if they tacked on a small extra feature to improve them for the rerun!
My biggest problem with mojang updates is the difference between them and the terraria devs. The terraria devs add so much content every update, while mojang doesnt
Cool vid but 1 thing you've gotten wrong, the only mobs that have been perm deleted are the ones from the first mob vote, every other mob goes on a shelf and is waiting for it's time to shine ( confirmed by Mojang )
As a casual player allays are pretty useful when I’m harvesting stuff. Like when I’m getting wood I set them to collect saplings or when farming they pick up the stuff I miss. It’s kinda niche but it’s helpful in situations where things can get lost
I personally think we should get a special snapshot with all 3, so we can see all of the features of each one. Lack of information on each mob is the biggest problem with the vote.
While that’s a good idea, the reason they do the votes (other than the community hype) is so they could take more time programming the winner mob into the game. So, if they already programmed the other mobs, might aswell just add them all, right?
@@StvhlingerI can totally see Mojang getting them all 50% ish ready and putting them on the shelf when they lose. It like when they bring back the mcrib.
Can i say that literally the only reason anyone voted for the glowsquid was because we were told it would GLOW and luminate dark, underground water, a mechanic that would have been really useful but it doesn't do that.
I've always prefered the biome vote. I like the idea of expanding upon preexisting content rather than trying tack on a single new mob, atleast that's what some of the mob votes have felt like. It feels more impactful to the game and of course the losers aren't doomed to be on a wiki page of stuff that will never be added to the game. It still stirs up discussion and community interaction, too. Honestly if they just made the changes you talked about it'd be so much better.
Could you not have watched the 11 minute video to realize I mentioned this and said that if that is the case then the problem is their lack of clarification
Idk. The allay allows non stackable item sorting for machines which I have used extensively. The copper golem is a randomizer which I can already make fairly easily. Of course I wanted the copper golem, but I’m glad I lost to Allay because in hindsight it’s very useful
@kaielmacmillan9258 I don't remotely care what it's function was, I just love the little copper golems and the game needs more use for copper. I have never even seen an Allay in game.
Tbf other than the 2017 and 2023 mobs (they should’ve added all of them), the only mobs I wish they still added were the Iceologer and the Copper Golem. They were already doing a mountain update from the previous year so why didn’t they just straight up add the Iceologer to fit with the theme? And also considering how useless copper is no offense, the Copper Golem would’ve been a great way to add more usage to copper even if you don’t ever plan to make them.
imo theres no excuse or the moobloom. literally just a different texture. i bet i could program that in a single day, and i have very limited experience in coding. just gotta copy over the mooshroom an change minor variables.
i think it would be nice for the other mobs to eventually get added into minecraft. the mob voted being the first to get in, the other two coming in a year later
I think the phantom is more useful than the rest besides the armadillo because the slow falling potion is incredibly useful in the dragon fight, especially in hardcore.
Ok I haven’t watched the whole video, but in my opinion, removing the mob vote is a shit idea. 1. It probably means we’d get less mobs every day. One of the big reason they do the mob vote is to bring attention to mc live. No mob vote, no point to bring more mobs in. 2. Less variety. Say if we get a desert update, we’d mainly get desert themed mobs. No sniffer in a savannah update. No allay in a nether update. Etc. 3. They said they would bring the mobs back if it fit the theme. They’re not “locked in a vault” like everyone says. In my opinion, it’d be cool in the short term, but would be worse in the long term.
In all honesty, idk why people are voting for the crab. All 3 of these mobs don't have good utility, I feel like this vote is down to a subjective "which do you like" thing. They are more ambient mobs than anything.
They should do a mob update where they add every single mob we lost and only make few changes to the game or even just one good one to keep us entertained Ex: this update we got all those mobs and the crafting table thing
The REAL problem is that the mobs are shallow & have a single, niche use-case that doesn't make them feel relevant 99% of the time or a part of the game's world. Also, the fact that they don't elaborate on small details ISN'T helping.
I wish they would have kept the mob vote, but each year, the mobs were the ones that lost from the last few years. Until they eventually added all the mobs that lost, proving to us that they do add the losers eventually, meaning that future mob votes aren’t as high stakes.
I think a lot of issues with the mob vote is mojang doesn’t give enough info. We were told that we’d get a new seed/crop from the sniffer, not a flower only useful for the sniffer (breeding it, or absolutely nothing). It’s either because they don’t have the entire idea when they show it, they don’t give the proper info, or they change after it’s been voted since changes happen all the time when developing.
I think that they should add the top 2 votes and the third is delayed so that everyone is happy and so it’s a tiny bit easier for developers if they were to do this
The mob votes are such a wasted concept that has too many fundamental design problems for them to work properly. Like what's even the point of making the fanbase vote for 3 mobs with undercooked concepts and features if you're just going to clearly only hype one of them up and not further expand on the others? Especially when you can easily add all 3 of them in the same update. Not to mention that most of the contestants aren't even that good anyway, it's usually just a choice of picking the least terrible mob. If Mojang wants to bring the community together and let them have a say on what they want to come to the game then they need to stop dangling keys over the community's face like we're babies and just stop throwing away things that could work but don't due to their own incompetence.
In English this is what he said. Mobs that are eliminated are not lost forever because in mob voting we do not vote for the mob that will appear in the game, but for the mob that will appear before the others. You must also remember that mob vote is only an "add-on" to the entire update, not the main feature.
I mean, Mojang is milking Bedrock players so much with their terrible Marketplace why would they stop updating? It's not like they're doing it out of generosity.
@@EmperorPenguin1217the 19 update being mediocre doesn't mean the game is getting ruined. Like yes they are certain in Minecraft that need to get better and the game has flaws . But another of people are exaggerating things and devalue the work Mojang puts through.
In my opinion, your proposed solution would be good for a time, but eventually, I think it would lead to a huge backlog of mobs because Mojang adds new ones to the game so slowly. One idea I had would be for them not to reveal the mobs in the mob vote but have a contest to determine what TYPE of mob to add to the game. For example, Hostile Mob vs. Passive Mob vs. Redstone Mob, or something like that. That way, no one would be that upset if their choice lost because they'd know more mobs of that variety will make it into the game at some point. Other examples would be Land Mob vs. Aquatic Mob, End Mob Vs. Nether Mob, Mesa Mob vs. Taiga Mob, etc. It would probably be less high stakes, but I think it's an option worth considering for some years.
but like me, i also vote for the mobs, i want to make an armadillo park in my game to keep them there. i love armadillos and we also vote for the mobs and not only for uses.
@@Lyokoheros-KLPXTV welp this is the point of the whole protest, we just want mojang to promise they will be added. we like the mobs and want them all.
I think they just need to do something to remind people that no, not all of these mobs are gone forever. though I feel like they already proved that with frogs people disagree because it’s just the biome vote. and I think they should do a vote with past candidates so that the backlog doesn’t keep growing too fast
the frog doesnt count because, as you mentioned, it was a biome vote, not a mob vote. if 1.19 didnt have the swamp update, we wouldnt have gotten frogs with it. mob vote mobs are separate from the update itself, theyre plastered ontop, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. none of the losers of the mob votes have been added, and weve had long enough to add them all and then some. the losers are gone permanently it seems, which is why we are revolting
Idea: Next year could be the TMMU The mega mob update All the jobs that lost get added back in one mega update Not only will it bring more people but make everyone happy Next next update will add all the biomes that have yet to be added Then after that they hold a biome vote in which the winner gets added next, second after, and third gets added last Each of the biomes has one or more mobs to go with it Rinse and repeat
So for the first mob vote only, those 3 mobs will never get in, but for the rest of them (2020-2023), those mobs will eventually get in. Kinda want to clear that up, if it hasn't already been cleared up.
The Minecraft devs saying it multiple times, that any non 2017 vote just goes back into the idea's box and could be added in a future update if it fits what they want to do.

It was the first mob vote, which added the phantom, where the other losers were disqualified forever. The massive outrage from that is what made them change and say the other losers will be added to the "idea pool". The devs have stated this on twitter several times, but i see so many people say they're deleted forever, when they literally added frogs and mangrove, the second place finisher, 2 updates ago. So yes, in your pinned comment, they do need to make this more clear.
a lot of people say to just choose all 3 mobs but thats kinda lame and leaves no excitment for what could be next. instead I think we should go back to biome votes so instead of getting a single mob, we can get an entire biome pack
Thats literally what i have always thought about the mob vote and what i see a lot of people say Not one minds having a big event to choose a mob Everyone is upset because the other good ideas are just deleted from reality, plus it would make underwhelming mobs from votes be less disappointing because i feel part the disappointment is "wow we lost out on X for this?" Not just the mob not being to interesting
and if mojang dont, lets then boycott the marketplace, as i said on my video. why is this my suggestion? companies only talk money, and about the marketplace creators during boycott we can donate to them directly via paypal or something which is even mich better since they get 30% cut from marketplace
Their was also a Chinese mob vote, its how we got the Panda. Their were four other mobs, Alligators, Deers, Monkeys, and River Dolphins. The first mob vote was actualy a twitter poll, were the Llama beat the Alpaca, and their was a Cat vote aswell.
I’m sorry but ignoring “the incident”, the Glow Squid thing was one of the worst votes. Like this multi million company really had us arguing over 2 retextures vs a fully realized, unique mob that fit the update theme perfectly. At least the other years I could see why they might need us to choose.
*Just ask: Why dont Mojang just add all 3 of them...?* Like, why? Its an UPDATE. Its only purpose Its to GIVE NEW CONTENT! Like... "oh wow, Pink trees!"... and thats it???

A sort of "Make-a-Mob" poll? I'd be down for that.
Or maybe the opposite. We get the feature but get to vote for what new mob will have that feature.
I straight up don’t understand what thought process led to mojang coming up with the phantom in the first place, and then people actually voting it in, an extremely unfortunate combination of baffling game design and voters just not even reading the description of what they’re voting for,
To be fair, it was the only undead flying hostile
There should be a mob vote of all the fan favorite lost mobs
5:05 i agree with odyssey, i think the sniffer exclusive dye types should be maroon, beige, and all of the removed colors from minecraft classic
You going over the previous mob votes really made me realize just how long it’s been since I last played Minecraft. I haven’t played it since before the Allay won that mob vote.
You're not missing much imo
It has been so stale that people are going back to older versions, sometimes as far as beta 1.7 with modpacks
3:29 you know, I wonder what it would’ve been like if Steve was in Smash 4
It’s crazy to think we actually lose more mobs than we get. Whatever happened to the other mobs? Did mojang just forget about them? Why make mob ideas and tease them just so you can take them away and never use them?
I gotta say this mob vote has been the most controverial. Yet.
there was the glow squid thing in the 2020 one
#BOYCOTTTHEMOBVOTE
Have people forgotten about the biome votes?
6:38 Mario odyssey night theme while talking about a night mob? Nice.
6:22 “And our finally mob vote winner was the Phan-“ *Gets ad*
Bro hates the phantom so much, I got an ad right before he could finish saying Phantom
I might be late to the party but I love that at 0:57 the puppet is there
Specifically Phantom Puppet.
As a casual player allays are pretty useful when I’m harvesting stuff. Like when I’m getting wood I set them to collect saplings or when farming they pick up the stuff I miss. It’s kinda niche but it’s helpful in situations where things can get lost
Same for me when I need to harvest a large amount of Sugar Can or Wheat.
1:06 well this didnt age well 💀
“I’m voting for the crab btw”
Woomp woomp
I personally think we should get a special snapshot with all 3, so we can see all of the features of each one. Lack of information on each mob is the biggest problem with the vote.
why not just add all 3 to the game at that point if they already did the work?
At that point making a vote and not adding all 3 would make ever less sense...
@@terra1149that would be so funny, mojang fully implements all 3 mobs into a working snapshot and goes "okay now pick 2 that we delete from the game"
Only the one with the phantom is permanent, could you not have done the 5 seconds of research to confirm this?
Could you not have watched the 11 minute video to realize I mentioned this and said that if that is the case then the problem is their lack of clarification
@@Odyssey_Central they did clarify it, it’s isnt worth repeating anymore because they’ve already said it
I'll never forgive the devs, nor the community for rejecting my BELOVED AND PERFECT Copper Golem.
Same >=(
Woah… ok. Well I’d like copper golem one day too
At least they still are on the shelf of ideas.
have they ever confirmed the recent mob votes are gone forever
Tbf other than the 2017 and 2023 mobs (they should’ve added all of them), the only mobs I wish they still added were the Iceologer and the Copper Golem. They were already doing a mountain update from the previous year so why didn’t they just straight up add the Iceologer to fit with the theme? And also considering how useless copper is no offense, the Copper Golem would’ve been a great way to add more usage to copper even if you don’t ever plan to make them.
Copper really is crazy useless for such a common ore
imo theres no excuse or the moobloom. literally just a different texture.
i bet i could program that in a single day, and i have very limited experience in coding. just gotta copy over the mooshroom an change minor variables.
The hungrybox crab clip in the beginning LOL
i think it would be nice for the other mobs to eventually get added into minecraft. the mob voted being the first to get in, the other two coming in a year later
The Shadow vs Skull Kid example was probably the best way I've ever heard this explained (and probably ever will)
The crab lost
Rip crab 🦀
🙏 Hope it gets added at some point in the future.
Minecraft already has too many useless mobs, and mob votes lock much needed features behind a vote which is inherently awful
In all honesty, idk why people are voting for the crab. All 3 of these mobs don't have good utility, I feel like this vote is down to a subjective "which do you like" thing. They are more ambient mobs than anything.
Ye I don't think anyone is gonna search for the rarest biome in the game just for maybe 3 blocks longer block placing from a tool that probably breaks
This is the ONE mob vote rant I actually agree with! Its fun to talk about, we just eventually need all the options!
Mojang does more content and updates for the Chinese version in a month than for the actual game in one year...
They should do a mob update where they add every single mob we lost and only make few changes to the game or even just one good one to keep us entertained
Ex: this update we got all those mobs and the crafting table thing
Here’s an idea for a mob vote, *REMOVE THE PHANTOMS FROM THE GAME* and replace them with something else. I’d say that’s a decent idea.
I think the track record for the winners should change, but we're gonna have to depend on the community for that one.
The REAL problem is that the mobs are shallow & have a single, niche use-case that doesn't make them feel relevant 99% of the time or a part of the game's world.
Also, the fact that they don't elaborate on small details ISN'T helping.
Well the mob vote is officially gone now. I hope the losers are gonna be added soon now that no more mob votes will happen.
I think that they should add the top 2 votes and the third is delayed so that everyone is happy and so it’s a tiny bit easier for developers if they were to do this
0:57 I don’t remember one of those from the original mob vote
nah bro it's always been there. You just looked at it wrong
My main issue isn’t that they’re gone forever, but it’s the fact it’s been 5 years and no meerkats or ostrich
They couldn’t have just added the moo bloom as a cow that spawns in flower biomes???
Thank you for acknowledging the fact that we still get free updates 14 years later, it feels like some people don't appreciate that.
You can appreciate a game still being updated and also critizice the past few updates for being mediocre lately
I mean, Mojang is milking Bedrock players so much with their terrible Marketplace why would they stop updating? It's not like they're doing it out of generosity.
Well they earn from bedrock tho?
Milking and keep milking
Terraria does the same tho
@@EmperorPenguin1217the 19 update being mediocre doesn't mean the game is getting ruined.
Like yes they are certain in Minecraft that need to get better and the game has flaws . But another of people are exaggerating things and devalue the work Mojang puts through.
As someone who isn't too invested in Minecraft but watches your videos of it anyway, I would love to see a "Cut Mobs of Minecraft" video!
@@jktech2117 Oh, an armadillo park would be really cool, I want crab to win but if armadillo or penguin wins then it will be fine
@@Sheepybearry welp i hope our protest work and they promise all three in the future
@@jktech2117 that's already a thing. The losers will be added at some point in the future.
@@Lyokoheros-KLPXTV welp this is the point of the whole protest, we just want mojang to promise they will be added. we like the mobs and want them all.
Here while minecraft is live. No joke, the ENTIRE chat is #stopthemobvote.
I think they just need to do something to remind people that no, not all of these mobs are gone forever. though I feel like they already proved that with frogs people disagree because it’s just the biome vote. and I think they should do a vote with past candidates so that the backlog doesn’t keep growing too fast
They don't need to be "reminded" because its a lie. The biome vote was the only case where that happened. With mob votes 2 options get removed forever
If they just put a single loser into the game almost none of this backlash would be happening
the frog doesnt count because, as you mentioned, it was a biome vote, not a mob vote. if 1.19 didnt have the swamp update, we wouldnt have gotten frogs with it. mob vote mobs are separate from the update itself, theyre plastered ontop, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. none of the losers of the mob votes have been added, and weve had long enough to add them all and then some. the losers are gone permanently it seems, which is why we are revolting
"oh no, I just didn't slept for 3 intire days no I have to punch in the air 3 times its so bad" - avarage fantom rager
I think a boss vote would be cool (although it would get people even more mad.)
Next year should be a vote between the most voted mobs
Idea:
Next year could be the TMMU
The mega mob update
All the jobs that lost get added back in one mega update
Not only will it bring more people but make everyone happy
Next next update will add all the biomes that have yet to be added
Then after that they hold a biome vote in which the winner gets added next, second after, and third gets added last
Each of the biomes has one or more mobs to go with it
Rinse and repeat
With all due respect, the main use of sniffers is that theyre silly little guys. Very whimsical. Pet.
I think a good way to improve the vote is to make all of the mobs equally good so there is an actual point to voting
So for the first mob vote only, those 3 mobs will never get in, but for the rest of them (2020-2023), those mobs will eventually get in. Kinda want to clear that up, if it hasn't already been cleared up.
and where did you hear that?
The Minecraft devs saying it multiple times, that any non 2017 vote just goes back into the idea's box and could be added in a future update if it fits what they want to do.
@@Alibium "According to Ulraf, a developer at Mojang, the mobs who lose the vote will be kept in the company's "IdeasLibrary." *shows a tweet from an actual developer of the game saying the mobs just get put back on the shelf for now*
It was the first mob vote, which added the phantom, where the other losers were disqualified forever.
The frog was from a biome Vote so as of right now, no mob from an actual mob, vote has been added.

a lot of people say to just choose all 3 mobs but thats kinda lame and leaves no excitment for what could be next. instead I think we should go back to biome votes so instead of getting a single mob, we can get an entire biome pack

Thats literally what i have always thought about the mob vote and what i see a lot of people say
Not one minds having a big event to choose a mob
Everyone is upset because the other good ideas are just deleted from reality, plus it would make underwhelming mobs from votes be less disappointing because i feel part the disappointment is "wow we lost out on X for this?" Not just the mob not being to interesting
As i have said. We need to get two mobs by splitting the vote into 50/50. Sure we wouldnt get all three but two out of three is good enough

why is this my suggestion? companies only talk money, and about the marketplace creators during boycott we can donate to them directly via paypal or something which is even mich better since they get 30% cut from marketplace
Agree the mob vote should stop and all 3 mobs should be added even if its taken longer
