- In tonight's video I am doing a reaction to the incredible MIGHT and POWER of Eloy Casagrande of Sepultura. Eloy is an absolute beast on the drums with not only his incredible strength, but his groove, and stylistic mix of cultural metal drumming chops as well. His playthrough of Isolation is absolutely top-level drumming! @eloycasagrandee you are a legend my man! If you enjoyed the video please like, and subscribe, and by all means talk to me in the comments!

If you are a fan of Sepultura, what are some of your favorite songs by them?
Dead Embryonic Cells for sure. Glad to see you put Eloy on your series!
Ratamahatta and roots bloody roots.
Beneath the Remains, Refuse/Resist, Spit
refuse resist, desperate cry, kiowas
Arise, Desperate Cry, and Dead Embryonic Cells
Greatest drummer in the world. He’s on another level. A monster.
That dude is an absolute savage, both in power AND technicality. Holy crap! I never get tired of Eloy!
Facts!
Seen sepultura live in November and the power he plays with is unbelievable, the crowd were shocked when he started playing. The technique too, everything. He’s a super human drummer, this video is scratching the surface. Best drummer in the world hands down and is the heart and soul of sepultura. Quadra is an amazing album, and I can’t wait for their next album.
Eloy is about to get paid. Good for him. You can see how much he puts into his playing. I hope it works out.
Dudes back there like animal from the muppets lol. Great breakdown as always 👌
Lmao! I think Animal is an inspiration for most of us drummers
Your comments were spot on- that’s not the sound of a wooden stick hitting a cymbal, it’s the bronze atoms screaming for help. On a more serious note, I was attending a Sepultura concert a couple of years ago almost 15 years after my last concert, not expecting such a mad man behind the kit. He really is a powerful player, but has the speed and technical prowess to make the tracks interesting. Incredible, he doesn’t disappoint. Took me completely by surprise.
This is a great story! Thanks for sharing your insight and experience!
This album was frigging sweet! He does a play through to the song after this "Means to an End" that is 👌
I saw that song pop up alot when i was looking for the song i reacted to in the video
Eloy is Monster he is Definitely one of the hardest hitting chops i have seen in Metals recent history. But he is also what i would consider a total package behind the kit... Also his placement and incorporation of those hi-hat accents towards the end were interesting.. He is fun drummer to watch seeing what direction he takes on the kit... Good video and choice of drummer..💀🤘
Thanks so much my friend!
@@DrumlionMusic u got it kind sir..
I love Eloy. He always seems to be out to murder his kit 😂
Two hi hats, right slightly to the right and one in the traditional spot. Love watching him alternating between the two
Eloy is a fucking assassin. That much power with precision...crazy!
For real bro. I wonder what his gym sessions are like
Thanx for appreciating brazilian drummers.
We have quite a few at the top of their game nowadays.
Again, cheers from Rio e sorry for my poor english.
oh yeah! eloy is truly a beast!
Beast is the best word to describe him!
Those tripletes are sick as hell.
The pentagram is one of Eloys most intense Drum sets for Sepultura..trully hardcore
great reaction! thanks and hugs from brazil !!
Thanks so much!! Much love to you and Brazil!
Eloy Casagrande 🇧🇷 🏆
I love how ppl say Sepultura was done when Max left...
This is EASY one of the best songs by them.
Nice react! Greetings from Brazil. (and my favorite Sepultura's song is Means to an end)
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel my friend!
I'm a little late to this one but you have to check out his performance at the 2005 Modern Drummer Festival when he was 14 years old!
You pronounced his last name like a Brazilian would 🤙 Never been a huge fan either but i have a feeling it is time for me to mature into them now that i am an amateur drummer, Eloy is a powerhouse!
Great breakdown as always, you paint a great picture that is relatable 👌
I did a little research on the pronunciation beforehand lol
OOh this was delicious, my knowledge of Sepultura is incredibly limited but ya know what, it was great to get some old school balls to the wall thrash going on. I loved how it basically looks like he's having a fight: everything he does is at full power while being controlled and coordinated. Thank you for this, I think I may have to delve more into their stuff.
Im glad you enjoyed this my friend!
@@DrumlionMusic I did indeed it was spot on. :)
I saw them live, before the first apocalypse, and they were amazing. "Powerhouse" sums him up totally
Man i can only imagine this experience!
Sorry I'm late to this one, but this is done FIRE! I love me some Sepultura. Huge fan of both generations of the band. Pre and Post Max. I don't care. They're just awesome.
I'm seeing Ra tonight live in Lakewood Ohio (Cleveland). I can't wait. They're not metal but definitely some great heavy alternative rock. I listened to them a lot in HS. I can't wait. 🤘
Nice bro! I look forward to hearing about how this experience was!
🤯🤘
Solid review, my guy!
Wondering, couldn't see anything from initial scanning, have you reacted to any Matt Gartska drumming videos?
Matt is actually the next drummer on my list!
Always love your vids man. Rad choices in the drummers you react to as well. Keep em coming.
appreciate this! more is definitely on the way for sure. at the moment im video editing another drum cover, but more reactions will be soon
bout time
Takes time man, what can i say
Very powerful drummer, but he also plays those deaf notes pretty well, since he is a versatile drummer outside Sepultura.
Sepultura was the first "brutal" band i got into. I remember i struggled with the vocals as a young teenager 😄🙏 But didn't take long before i needed to check out more brutal music. I love both eras of Sepultura. Chaos AD is one of my fav records. These days they release one beast of a record after the other. I am a big fan of the Kairos record. Their cover of Ministrys Just one Fix on there is heavy
I need to really listen to alot of more of them. I definitely intend to for sure
New subscriber hear, love your channel! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks so much!! I appreciate that
Hell freaking yeah brother 👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸 wanted to headbutt everything within reach 😂😂🤣🤣🤣 awesome as always my friend 👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸
Haha a headbutt is definitely acceptable, in my Judge Mills Lane voice, "Ill Allow It!"
I know more of the Arise and Chaos AD Sepultura. I just heard this dude a few weeks ago. I grew up a Pantera guy. Been on the Vulgar and Far Beyond driven tours and all. Im not sure who can fuck with Eloy currently.
Kai Hahto-obey (just raw power)
There's so much good Eloy, but this is probably my favorite: Eloy Casagrande - Alethea (Sepultura) - Live at Codimuc Studio
He's a beast. There's a cool video out there of him killing it at a Modern Drummer festival when he was like 14 too.
Geez 14!??
@@DrumlionMusic I think so, he's crazy talented, and, I'm guessing, must've started very young.
Jesus! This animal needs to be studied!
nice video!!!
Thanks so much!
Sepultura is one of those bands I forget how much I enjoy until I hear them again. And one of those bands that I enjoy in both incarnations Max and Post-Max eras. As for favorites however it's got to be Roots Bloody Roots.
I feel you on that. I really need to deep dive their catalog and see how both iterations of the band stack up against each other.
Yeah what is that swivel technique? It's not so featured in this video but I have seen it a lot
Never heard them before but I'm going to be checking them out. I like to think of myself as a real fan of you and already know you've said you have a long list so any recommendations you'll get to them in time. FUUUUUUCK this is metal. Just seeing the cam shake you know its heavy LOL. Just speaking of the physicality of drummers but I've boxed a few friends (just for fun) and every single one that was a drummer was a bitch because they could just throw volume so I think its a drummer thing. The full body use of hits and the hips along with the ankle movements are one hundred percent accurate which is also a very important thing with boxing. I didn't notice the other type of cultural music until you mentioned it and listened to it after watching you and you're completely right! I loved it the whole time but that helped me understand the whole reason why it really stood out. Shit man you brought a new perspective of how I appreciate drums.
thanks so much for this awesome comment! spot on with the technical science aspect of boxing as well. makes sense considering you punch with your legs, so to speak. and im really glad i was able to offer some useful insight to you!
@@DrumlionMusic Have you ever done any boxing yourself?
@@LilBobbyBrickHands i haven't. just did some rolling a little bit when i was in the army. but im a fight fan and love MMA, so you just pick up on different methods by listening to fighters talk about it.
@@DrumlionMusic When you say rolling which style do you mean? Usually BJJ is typical but I know there are others that are very respectable. I've personally mostly been a part of the eight fist so ground work isn't my forte, but I was originally a wrestler.
@@LilBobbyBrickHands yes a little bit of BJJ as well as wrestling. Part of the combatives program. i only took level one, but i believe there were 4 levels total. that is, if your unit was able to spare you the time to attend the classes or competitions.
@Drumlion I can't bloody wait 'till you react to Chason Westmoreland. Guess pestering you with comment in that regard won't matter, since you have a list and seem like the guy to actually STICKS to it. \m/
Chason will definitely be making an appearance on the channel my friend! Stay tuned!
eloy to me is the best. make me want to jump to the drums
although I can't play like him in a millon years. from pantera wich is the best metal band of all time, this song is great,is not common and have a nice final part if you want to make a cover. i´m a long time fan of the band. chears from argentina
i forgot put the name of the song jaja use my thrid arm from far beyond driven
Greetings to you my friend!
2024 -Eloy is Playing for Slipknot as Professor Hulk

I don't know if You know that he win In i Think 2000 The modern drummer contest For people under 15 years he was a baby when he win that, there are videos of that In You tube, keep doing The reactions i really enjoy them
Thank you so much! And thats crazy how good he was even at a young age!
I messaged you earlier about meshuggah destroy erase improve. Check out Beneath its effin bonkers. and im no a drummer but i think its in 111/11teenths
Ill check this out! There are a few Meshuggah songs ive been holding off listening to because i want to do reactions to them here
@@DrumlionMusic hey man i appreciate you and i love your videos even though im not a musician. lifetime fan here
@@Mdrobile this means a ton to me! Thank you so much
Dunno if anyone suggested this Baard Kolstad - Illuminate drum playthrough
Yep! Hes on my list!
That TAMA kit is S-tier
Another one for you "Alex Rudinger of The Faceless playing Xenochrist"
I feel like i saw this a long time ago but its been quite a while since Ive checked out Alex. Ill get him on the channel!
Check out Max Kolesne, Krisiun's drummer.
You got it!
I watch reaction videos but fast forward when they start giving their opinions, I have troubles.
This dude is a fucking nuclear plant!
Hahaha yep
Bro is on stEloyds tho .
Slipknot. Please. Without a doubt!!!!!
Eloy is my favorite but tomas haake is the best
If you haven’t reacted to the drummer of cynic you totally should!
He's a great drummer but he ain't the drummer for Sepultura. There was only one. It's not bad but it's NOT Sepultura. Sepultura ended when the brothers left.
#LONGLIVETHECAVALERABROS
#THERESHALLBEONLYONE
Respectfully that's a bad take, my friend. Instead of seeing Sepultura dead why not look at it as now you have a new take on what Sepultura is, plus all the new projects that Max and Igor have done?
This is literally the worst take on anything I have ever seen. What utter nonsense. He is the heart and soul of sepultura. Andreas and Paulo wrote the majority of the early stuff and have every right to play it to this day and their new album Quadra is a masterpiece.
Bloody Roots baby plus anything by SOULFLY AND AND GOD FORBID
I love soulfly! I did a drum cover to Gladiator a little while back on here. And man i wish God Forbid would make a comeback!
@@DrumlionMusic So do I I had the pleasure of seeing GOD FORBID OPEN FOR KILLSWITCH WHAT A SHOW some of my other favs are LAMB OF GOD ROTTING CHRIST MERCIFUL FATE BUT IN MY OPINION SLAYER IS THE GOAT OF THRASH AND DAVE LOMBARDO IS THE NEIL PERT OF THRASH DRUMMERS Your channel F'N ROCKS I am in my early 50s and still BANG MY HEAD EVERY DAY LONG LIVE METAL
@@jeromymalone9984 this comment is awesome! Thanks so much for your words my friend!
Another great video. I’m surprised I can’t find any videos of you showing how Lars from Metallica is great lmfao
Lol, im sure i could make that happen actually.
