Beg to differ. I don't go into gaming looking for a "sense of accomplishment." I've got real life for that. The beauty here is not in the escape (the "success"), but in the escaping. It's an audiovisual feast so well made that 'failing' seldom felt frustrating. Finishing these sequences elicited equal parts relief and disappointment that it was over. What I gained was an 'experience'-- a rich, unforgettable memory.

I tear up everytime I go through or watch ppl reacting to this, I love this sequence, graphics and the music so much, there's so many feelings at once, you're happy you restored the tree but the game says to run for your life and you're like wait? WHAATTTT? And then its like a bit of scary yet happy frenzy when you're happy you restored it but now you gotta escape this chaotic mess where you die so many times, and not to mention mastering the new ability you had just received to its full potential in the next 20-30 mins you spend attempting this, my goodness this WAS BEAUTIFUL! Especially for someone who had not been able to finish games or idk games just wouldn't feel the same, Ori and the blind forest was the first game I completed on my pc and and it's one of my most favourite games like ever, now I'm playing Ori WoTW and loving every minute of it so far. Let's just say these games made me love gaming again and platformers/metroidvanias will always always have my heart. :') 🫶🏻

I probably died 30-40 times trying this. Finally got it this morning. It definitely requires some fast fingers!

I was trying this part last night (ended up giving up) and found it here to see how much more there was to the level... I was one jump away from the end of it.

I had to do this scene like 30 times because the frog at the end kept killing himself before I could hop up

I've played this moment yesterday (yes I know I'm late), and I've seen the end of the second game so I kinda spoiled myself. But I'm glad I didn't see these kind of moments. It was such a great feeling, and with no time to rest between each tries because when you die (and you will the first time) you respawn and it's immediatly "oh f*ck here we go again" and again and again. And finally, you get to the end, and I felt relieved and so satisfied.
It was a great moment, and I guess I'll leave some other moment like that in the future of the game ^^

This is where the Ghibli influence really shines. The portrayal of nature as beautiful and noble, but also implacable, indifferent, and deadly.

It reminded me of playing Rayman (1) on PS(1) 😅 - I played this part about 3 hrs and about 500 deaths xD but I collected all orbs and jumps for points ❤😂 and still in "normal" dif. and with xbox series controller

I beat this first attempt on hard on my first playthrough and thought it was easy. My friend played the game a while ago and asked me how many attempts did that part take me. I said one attempt on hard and he couldn’t believe it. That part killed him 91 times on easy.

How can you just get through this in one go?? That's an insult to the incredible beauty of this scene. Whenever I replay this game and get to the ginso tree escape, I die at least 20 times on purpose cause I just wanna listen to the music and the sound of the water breaking through the tree 🥺
